  This school is unprofessional, dirty, disrespectful, dysfunctional and messy. They need to be shut down and reported. It continuously gets worse throughout the years. The school has made it very clear they will protect their teachers over their students and make it impossible for the students to fill out formal complaints and demand change in the school. As of the ********* school year I have witnessed discrimination of students of color! Teachers lying and harassing students! Male educators have inappropriate relationships and conversations with young female students making a list of girl uncomfortable in his presence! Teachers saying theyre going to kill somebody while throwing a pair of scissors across the room in front of students and customers, teachers walking out and leaving in the middle of class (leaving students with nothing to do all day several times) teachers writing notes of gossip and passing it around, students being disrespected by their educator and walking out of class refusing to go back in, the bathroom is consistently disgusting (students would rather change in their car for work then let their feet touch the bathroom ground, students and educators clean it! Not a professional cleaner!) students on the floor can never find an educator to help them or check their work, the principal has walked into the classroom and yelled and disrespected a teacher in front of all of the students, educators have insulted students (students have written formal complaints to the principal and they were thrown away). I have sat on my phone more then I have learned at this school! Overall, I could make a list and I know a lot of young women who could also make a list. Something needs to change. The saddest part is that I fear retaliation writing this to stand up for myself and my fellow students. Students should not experience anxiety and fear over attending school! This is completely outrageous, no one should experience this level of disrespect!

  This place seems to have a lot of unnecessary drama and the students are treated with disrespect although ultimately they are the ones paying to be there and the people in charge have no idea of how to run a business properly. Quinisha Story and ************************* need to be let go if they haven't been already they do and say very unperfessional things. My services were interupted twice because of them.

  This is the worst place to do your schooling not only do you have to constantly call just to get information on school but they tell you they will call you back and never do I was a student who went to school at this particular location and ended up having to stop due to personal reasons I came back around Aug 1st 2023 and had been calling trying to reenroll after speaking with someone who said I could into school but it took me until the middle of October to finally get a response from this school then they called me in to so called discuss reenrolling not only did the lady Beth who I had known prior to being there ask me to promise to finish but then this individual goes onto the salon floor and discusses with the students about how people drop out of school because they get tired of doing hair as if to say that was the reason I didn’t finish my schooling when my personal reasons should not be discussed with the entire salon floor of students I don’t know. Then they proceeded to say they will call me back on my supposedly start date telling me they excepted me which was gonna be oct 23. Not only did I never receive a call back from the school but my start date passes and I call up there to get put on the callback list. It was not until I called the headquarters of empire telling them my situation, that they Finally decided to call but then they tell me they think it’s better to go to another school that is an hour away from my home and I moved 2 hours away from my home town to this specific location because of the school telling me that I would be able to reenroll and finish my education so please do not enroll here the staff is very unprofessional and they do not do their job they are only in it for the money and on top of me going to school there my financial aid was supposed to cover the whole schooling but when it got to my 2 months before I would’ve graduated they also tried to pull the whole if I want to continue school it would be 950 out of pocket

  This isn’t a cosmetology school. It’s a way for a business to make money, period. My daughter went to empire for a short time and she learned nothing. I watched a student who was only on the floor for maybe a week cut a girls hair 8-10 inches when she only wanted a trim. Two educators saw the girl crying in the chair and snuck away before either the student or client noticed. There were girls who screamed throughout the salon about how horrible the school was and how awful they were treated. The pedicure bowl was disgustingly dirty and products for use on clients were non existent. They had a student running the front desk who thought it was funny to change peoples appointments so when they came in they could gaslight them into thinking they had the day wrong. I know this because it happened to me and I saw it happen to many clients. I tried to tell Tammy (the assistant director) this on multiple occasions and she did nothing to solve the problem. In fact, she said I must be mistaken. I was not. My daughter never knew what clients she would have because the student working the front desk would routinely take clients from girls who complained and give them to other girls. My daughter would sometimes have 4 clients in a day when she was told 2 was the most she would have. Again, these issues were brought to Tammy and she would be shocked but admit that it shouldn’t have happened but do nothing and it would happen again. My daughter has a disability that was brought to their attention and supported by doctors notes. Tammy and Mary
  (school director) made a plan with my daughter to check in weekly to make sure everything was going ok. Not once did this happen. When I had yet another meeting with them Mary’s response to me regarding her not meeting with my daughter was rude and unhelpful. Tammy said she didn’t understand disabilities and had never dealt with one. That’s not an option in a school! I could go on and on. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIMR OR MONEY HERE!!

  The school is dirty & unsanitary. The school depends on the students for maintenance, instead of hiring janitors.

  Not a reputable company! Dangerous with chemicals!
  Blindfolded students? Ethically and morally unacceptable. Also violated Americans with Disabilities Act.
  They misrepresented what they will teach and the instructors are not qualified!
