My son and I took my car to Dave's Garage on January 4th, 2023. It was having transmission problems with error codes P07A3 and P2872. They had the car for days and I didn't hear anything. I called to see if they had an update. I was told the car needed a new clutch kit. I asked how much it would cost. They told me $800. They would need to remove the transmission and send it to Hodge's transmission shop to replace the part. I said go ahead and do the work. I gave them a week before I called to see when the repairs would be completed. Dave's said they needed to call Hodge's to see when they could do it. (they had not called during the previous week they had my car). I gave them 6 days before I called again. They told me they didn't know if I was going to get the work done! I said to the man on the phone, I already told them in the previous 2 weeks that I want to get the work done. He then proceeded to tell me Hodge's has 7 Chevy trucks there to be worked on. He also said they were having trouble finding the part. At that point I wondered why they were not doing the work. They were just giving me excuses. The man asked me again, on the phone, if I want to get the work done. I said yes and confirmed with this man that it will be $800. He said yes. I asked when the car will be done. He said sometime the following week. January 23rd I called again. I was told it would be done by the end of the week. January 27th Dave's called to say the car was done. When I go to pick the car up, the total was $1,413.63. When I asked why it was so much more, he just told me parts and labor. He said he got the parts from Meegan Ford in Connellsville, PA. The car made it home, but has the exact same issues as it did when I took it to Dave's. It has the same codes. I can't drive it. I believe I was either scammed or they are extremely incompetent. I can not just throw $1,400 at something and cross my fingers that it will be fixed. They did not fix anything.
