    Water damage date of loss 9/15/2023. ********* Ins. Claim *******. I employed ServiceMaster or Charleston to dry residence and make repairs of water damaged areas of townhouse located at *** ******** ******, Goose Creek SC 29445. There was no communication of when work would begin who would be doing the work etc. The project did not meet workers at job sight to show them what needed to be done for instance living room, and bedroom furniture were to be removed into a pod at residence. The movers not being told or shown this removed all furniture from townhouse in doing so office desk was destroyed and furnishings misplaced. Flooring and fixtures were to be covered to protect from sheet rock dust. I let prgect mgr know everything was covered in dust and I was told he would have this cleaned up, which he did not do, so myself and cleaning lady cleaned everything. I had to find number of contactors to make arrangements of when things were to be done. I took it on myself to act as project manager. After ServiceMaster apparently did all they were going to do they tried to charge me for work not done. After finally after serveral months of waiting for a bill that we both agreed to I paid them in full. $4,185.62 check 2135 on 2/01/24. ********* sent another check for $2,167.02 which my wife and I endorsed and mailed certified mail 4\30\24. Now here it is 8/21/ 24 and they emailed me to say I owe them $1,934.17 which is pass due. (Which I do not owe) This company does not need to be in business. How do I get rid of this nightmare?

    Thank you for allowing us an opportunity to respond.  The invoice was sent to the homeowner by our collections department.  The balance is being collected from his insurance carrier.  We updated the homeowner/client and let them know to disregard.  Instead of them just communicating with us they sent this complaint.  Before the complaint was filed our email had already gone out apologizing for the confusion.

    We hired Service Master to do the renovations that were necessary due to a mistake made on another company's behalf. Service master originally quoted us 6-10 days for completion of the work that needed to be done. That was in June. It's now September and we are still currently displaced from our home. Each time we've contacted Service Master about the issues we're experiencing regarding the quality of work being done, we are met with blatant disregard and disrespect from the project manager. We have gotten the owner of the company involved who also seems to be blowing us off. I can almost guarantee that they will try to stick us with additional charges after being told the quality of work is unacceptable and needs to be redone; Even though we have done quite a bit of the labor ourselves to avoid those additional, unnecessary labor charges. We are completely dismayed at the lack of professionalism, skill, craftsmanship and customer service displayed by this company.

    This job was referred to us by the plumber and was a liability claim on them their insurance. The homeowner has chose to do their own cabinets and countertops. We have already been working on their punchlist and fixing items from their list and they are still waiting on their cabinets and countertops. The time frame of 6-10 days was not given to the customer by ServiceMaster as cabinets take 6-10 weeks in this current climate. We are doing everything we can to move this project along. Most of the hold up and time frame is coming from the cabinets/countertops which again ,we are not handling.
