    On 12/13/24 Budget Blinds of Orangeburg, SC came to my house and took measurements of shutters for the inside of my windows. She gave me a quote [#****] which on the quote it said payment is due at time of sale. On 12/18/24 i emailed Budget Blinds and stated that i wanted to go ahead with the purchase of the shutters. I paid them $3,823.58 by debit card, i received a receipt. I was told that it would take a little while to receive the shutters. It's been six months since shutters were ordered. I have called Lisa W********* of Budget Blinds and emailed her numerous times. At least once a week. She has emailed me twice. I don't know what else to do. $3,800 is a lot of money for a senior citizen.

    On April 2, 2024, I met with Budget Blinds of Orangeburg for a window-covering consultation. This business is located in Goose Creek, SC. After taking measurements, the owner provided an estimate of $7,816.70 for the shades I chose. It was required that full payment be received for Budget Blinds to place the order, so regrettably, I wrote a check for the full amount rather than using a credit card.

    I was told that the average time for an order delivery was to be 8 to 10 weeks, which should have had shades installed by July 1. It is now January 2025, 9 months after the shade purchase, and still no product has been delivered.

    Unfortunately, I have had to instigate each interaction with Budget Blinds, while never receiving a satisfactory response. After no update for over a month, in August of 2024, I issued a complaint with the SC Department of Consumer Affairs. Numerous attempts were made by the Department to elicit a response from Budget Blinds, but all calls and letters were ignored. Due to the lack of response, the complaint was eventually closed and deemed “Unsatisfactory;” however, the complaint is now on record.

    I have currently had no communication with Budget Blinds since November 4, 2024, which prompted the same frustrating response offered each time, that they are working with the vendor to get the order completed/shipped. If the company is having vendor issues, I would expect to have been informed and given the option to choose to either cancel the order with a full refund or wait indefinitely to receive the order. This has not occurred.

    The inability of Budget Blinds of Orangeburg to complete orders in a reasonable timeframe is unacceptable and possibly fraudulent; to treat customers with so little regard is unethical.

    Regarding the complaint I submitted on January 5, 2025, Budget Blinds of Orangeburg contacted me on the morning of January 6 to schedule an install date.  After waiting for nine months to have this scheduled, I feel that your communication with them must have prompted their quick response.  We settled on January 31, 2025 as the date for Budget Blinds to install our shades.  Hopefully, this installation will move forward smoothly.  I will follow up with BBB after January 31.  Thank you very much for your help with this matter.

    The company, Budget Blinds of Orangeburg, contacted me immediately after your email to them on my behalf.  We now have a date for installation and, hopefully, they will follow through with this commitment.  I appreciate your efforts on my behalf.  After waiting for months to arrange this installation, I feel sure the BBB involvement prompted their response.  Thank you.  Anne Wilson

    On July 6, 2024, I placed an order for faux wood blinds totaling $2,247.32 (invoice attached) after an in-person consultation. I paid in full upfront via credit card as prescribed to complete the order. Budget Blinds assured delivery and installation within 4 weeks of July 18, 2024, but they have failed to deliver the product or complete the project.

    Summary of attached e-mails: On July 18, 2024, owner Lisa W********* emailed that installation would occur within 4 weeks, making mid-August the expected timeframe. I followed up multiple times, including on August 8 and August 21, 2024, and left voicemails for Lisa, but received no direct response. On August 22, she emailed that the blinds should ship that week, but no further updates followed. After no communication, I followed up again on August 28, 2024. Lisa then said it would take another 10-15 days, pushing the expected installation to mid-SeptemberBy mid-September, still without a product or delivery date, I followed up again on September 18, 19, and 20, 2024. On September 23, Lisa responded, but without a firm delivery date, stating the vendor was causing delays. I sent follow-up emails on September 30, October 2, and October 7, 2024, requesting a delivery timeline or resolution. There has been no further response.

    These delays, lack of communication, and failure to provide a timeline reflect poor business practices. It is especially troubling that other customers have voiced similar concerns on their Facebook page (the comments are now now hidden).

    Budget Blinds of Orangeburg has not been truthful or transparent about their ability to fulfill orders. While communication was prompt before payment, it became poor after payment was made. As I dealt directly with Budget Blinds, I should not be subject to indefinite delays due to their vendor issues. As a result, a full refund is reasonable, but I would accept a guaranteed delivery and installation date within October 2024.
