My husband took our 1959 ***** truck to this shop to be rewired, carburetor, power steer worked even replaced if needed. They pulled all the wiring out of truck and none of the work was completed . Tried for last 3 months to see what was going on with our truck since it had been 8 and a half months. No work was completed but was force to pay total bill of 4020.80., to have our truck picked up by a towing company. We had him give us a itemized bill we was charged for work that had not been done nor did we ask for like shocks ect… We are now out 4020.80 and have to pay someone to try to get it back running along with towing bill of 50.00.

    Business Response

    Date: 08/25/2023

In response to the complaint from Mr and Mrs ******* unfortunately on an older vehicle like the couple brought us there is no way to give an exact price. Former employee, Jeff, supplied them with an estimate in which they agreed on. A deposit was made to order all parts and that labor would be paid upon pick up of the vehicle. As a small business we like everyone else had problems receiving parts as well as keeping technicians. Jeff that wrote the estimate and started the installation no longer works for me and left the vehicle unfinished. The power steering, carburetor, wiring harness, and miscellaneous pieces were ordered and left with the vehicle when the customer insisted on picking up. The customer called and threatened myself and my employee numerous occasions with law enforcement. There was no time frame put on completion and communication was average as the husband would come by and check on the truck. On these visits the customer ignored the posted signs of do not enter and would proceed in to the shop area putting himself in danger and putting liability on me if he was to get hurt. The customer was given an itemized statement/receipt listing all products discussed. After leaving they returned with the truck off the property saying there was parts on the receipt that was not with the truck. I explained there was no way to know since the truck was picked up and had left our property. We are a family of faith run business and handle customers with all respect. We explain at drop off there is some things we can not foresee and control. We tried to explain to the customer our set backs but there expectations of time was not realistic. My employee was called at 230 pm on august 24 2023 stating that they would be there at 4 pm to pick up the vehicle and would have law enforcement with them. We explained that we could not have everything accounted for and together in that short of time. They insisted and called the tow company to come anyway. We tried to be professional in the entire process unfortunately I can not say the same for the customer. The money paid is documented through receipts and labor.
