I think this business engaed in unethical business practices. I had a credit card with this credit union and the recently sent me a year end summary of my credit card activities. Upon reviewing the report I noticed that i was charged a late fee of $27 for credit card payment due on the 23rd of the month. This same report credited me with making 2 payments one on Jan 04 and Jan 20 but they still charged me a late fee, when confronted with this report they passed me along to 3 different CSR 2 of which agreed with me based on the evidence then the final CSR came on I explained it all over again to which he replied " there's nothing I could due because its been over 60 days!" All i asked for was a $27 credit to my account based on their error but it was not something they were willing to do. I think this is wrong because if the roles were reversed they wouldn't accept that from a consumer. Because of this level of distrust I have for this institution I had no option but to totally divest all accounts with South Carolina Federal Credit Union and write this review. If a financial institution mistakenly takes funds from an account holder and its proven to be in error then those funds should be returned that's just fair and honest business practice.

South Carolina Federal Credit Union merged with GHS Federal Credit Union. They assured me everything would be the same. They lied. I had my GHS savings account linked with checking so if an overdraft occurred it would pull from savings to cover the overdraft with NO CHARGE. Today I found out two $5.00 charges were made for over drafts with SCFCU. They refunded the charges, only after I strongly protested. They informed me this the fee correct and every time I had an overdraft they would charge a $5.00 Fee, it would be $35.00 without the overdraft protection. I received nothing in the mail from SCFCU informing me of this new charge. This is terrible customer relations, and I was not the only one who had called about this problem, and it looks like greed to me. If I had know this I would have changed to a bank or another Credit Union, but I thought it was going to be a good fair customer friendly Credit Union...Wrong
