My complaint is with Mr Rootsr plumbing of greater Charleston. On July 28th I received a phone call that Parker from Mr. Rooter was on his way to my home. They charged me $325.00 dollars. [This is what Parker is stating about description of work: Technician arrived on site for a potential mainline backup.Technician found out only one toilet was backing up. Technician performed a tolet auger with no sucess.Did not charge customer for tolet auger since it did not work. Technician then ran camera down roof vent found a 50 ft belly in the line. Recommended on either replacing the drain line or lifting the mobile home on the backside to increase the grade on the pipe.] They did nothing to solve the problem.Parker said it was nothing he could do for me.I will never recommend them to anybody. Only task he performed was as I followed him was the auger and getting on roof to put camera down the roof vent. Parker said I needed new plumbing underneath trailor that would cost 10,000 or more or I could call Clayton homes to jack up back of mobile home to drain water out of line. Parker from mr rooter also told my brother same thing on phone that he told me.After mr.rooter left I called another plummer that said he could fix my problem. He came out that saturday morning and took care of the problem. The plummer said I didn't need new plumbing and said it was fine. He also said I didn't need to jack up my mobile home in the back. Meanwhile I still had to pay for another plummer that fixed the problem. I called twice about getting to talk to manager of business Mr Rooter but have not received any phone call back. I want to get a full refund since they didn't solve the problem.

      Business Response

      Date: 08/03/2023

I am writing to address the concerns you raised in your recent complaint. First and foremost, we want to extend our sincere apologies for any dissatisfaction you may have experienced. Please be assured that your feedback is very important to us and we take it very seriously.

During our technician’s visit, he augered the toilet to resolve the immediate issue you were facing. There was no charge for this service, as our technician was unable to resolve the issue using this method.

Our technician subsequently used a sewer camera to perform a thorough sewer inspection to identify any underlying concerns. The cost for our sewer camera inspection was $325.00 which was agreed to and signed for by the customer.  During the inspection, the technician discovered a belly in the line, which is an area that holds excess water, causing a restriction in sewage flow. Our technician provided an estimate to perform work to remedy this issue which was the source of the problem. That repair estimate was declined by the customer.

After speaking with the customer on the phone on Saturday, July 29th, I attempted to explain that this was our best diagnosis of the issue and that we could not do more for her. At that point the call was disconnected.

I am going to attach the recorded sewer camera inspection, which indicated 50 feet of a belly in the line. I am also going to attach the signed invoice that shows the signature approval for the work to be completed.
