My business hired Consistent Results to do our bookkeeping services, pay our sales tax monthly, and handle payroll taxes. In the months of October and November, I noticed that the weekly bookkeeping was not being completed and my sales tax for October was not paid(for which my company will be penalized for late fees). Two of the three services for which I was paying CR $350 to perform. So in order to keep my books and profit and loss report straight to make some end of year financial decisions, I had to step in and complete these tasks. I was gracious and did not contact them as they were friends of my family and I knew they were transitioning to selling their company. However, on Dec 9th, I finally contacted them asking why these things were not being completed and why I was still being billed a total of $700 for both of those months. Their response was an apology and that my account had been lost in a personnel transition and they had failed to complete those tasks. I said I understood, but would like a refund for those two months. They have refused to refund my money for the services they did not complete. They did offer to pay the sales tax penalty, but that is just a wash, not a proper correction. They suggested that I find another bookkeeping service, instead of rectifying and making their mistake right. I am requesting not a partial refund as before, but a full refund of $700 as my business rate is $100/hr and it has cost me a handful of hours just dealing with their mistakes and doing their contracted work myself to keep my business running well. I have terminated our engagement, and requested a refund once again to which they refused. I asked that we just make this right between us so that I didn't have to take this course of action, and they refused that also.
