I have been dealing with issues with garbage collection since I moved here. The trash or the recycling is often missed. The cans when they are picked up, inevitably end up on their sides and I end up have to pick them up off their sides. Yet-they somehow manage to not throw my neighbors cans everywhere. The cans have been abused so much that the lid of my recycling bin has literally been torn off the can. Today the lid was thrown in the truck itself and is now gone. I was promised a new can a month ago and I am still waiting. I would like a new can ASAP and I would like to not have to pick up these heavy cans off of their sides every week. If there was another company that serviced my area I would have changed already.Initial Complaint

Capital Waste Services is contracted with us to pick up our trash every week. They routinely miss pick ups, and when I contact the office, a representative always promises to contact us back but they never do. We pay for garbage disposal services monthly, and this company does not hold up their end of the contract. They are known for this as other residents complain about them as well.Customer Answer

This is an ongoing issue with this company. We pay for garbage pickup and recycle service. They pick the garbage up every week as scheduled, but do not pick up the recycle on the scheduled day. We have called on numerous occasions and written the main office and we get no response. Once or twice in the last 3-month billing cycle we managed to get someone on the phone and then the next week the recycle was picked up. They always promise to adjust our billing, which never happened. It has been 4 weeks and numerous calls and emails, and we have received nothing in return. No response. We have tried to be patient and nice, but it is clear they do not intend to provide the service they were paid for. We want the service or a refund for that portion of our invoice.Initial Complaint

I cannot get anyone from customer service to call me back, including ******** ****** who is our account representative with Capital Waste Services. The last time I called a ******** answered the phone and when I gave her my name, she hung up on me. We want our recycling service cancelled and the container has been sitting at the end of our driveway since February 14th waiting to be picked up. We just received our quarterly statement and we are still being charged for recycling services that we are not using. I would simply like someone to contact us to make arrangements to pick up the recycling container, as well as adjust our bill. Otherwise, we will have no choice but to cancel our service altogether and find a new trash disposal company.Initial Complaint

I recently received a paper bill from Capital Waste Services (Invoice #****** dated for 1 Dec 2022 for Acct #*****), and realized that I am being charged for services that I do not receive (65 Gallon Recycling for $17.00/month)-and I don't know how long this has been happening, but I suspect that it has been at least 6 months. Not to mention--CWS bills for services THREE months in advance, expecting pre-payment of service! I have attempted to call the customer service number MANY times, and either I am hung up on, nobody answers, or I leave a message that is never returned. I am not going to pay this bill, and I also expect a full audit done of my account as well as to receive a credit for paying for services which I have never received. I want to cancel my account with them, and ensure that it is taken care of promptly. This company has terrible customer service, and has been overcharging me for months.Initial Complaint

I live inside the City limits of Beaufort, SC. I have NO CHOICE in the matter of CITY APPOINTED CONTRACT VENDOR for trash & recycling pick-up. THEY HAVE NOT PICKED UP OUR RECYCLING IN OVER TWO(w) MONTHS. Every one else on the street gets picked up, but they leave ours. If we leave it out there for long enough, a week or two later they dump it in the TRASH truck (ie. NOT BEING RECYCLED RECYCLING!). We pay our taxes AND our utility bills - THIS IS INCLUDED, NOT OPTIONAL, and FORCED UPON US - so we MIGHT AS WELL GET THE SERVICE promised for WHAT WE ARE PAYING FOR - right???????????????? I have complained to the City of Beaufort REPEATEDLY and started complaining to CWS over a month ago. Not only have I never received a response from EITHER of them, they do not even ACKNOWELDGE that I have lodged a complaint - the one with the City of Bft gov't website even supposedly generated a Ticket # - but nothing, it has been weeks!!!!!
