This website is a ripoff. Horrible design. No easy way to cancel orders.
If you fill out an order wrong, they'll still charge you the processing fee.
Customer support is impossible to get a hold of.
IF YOU NEED DEATH CERTIFICATES, CONTACT YOUR CLERK'S OFFICE DIRECTLY, DO NOT USE VITALCHEK!!!

I wish I'd done my due diligence first. They don't tell you when to expect your documents until after you've paid a non-refundable fee, only for you to then find out it will take months to receive your vital records. (I wrote this in mid-October, and am told I won't receive my birth certificate until MAY). Because of the delay, I won't be able to vote, and I won't be able to qualify for resident tuition at my university, costing me thousands I wouldn't have had to pay. The fact ************** uses them to process their vital records requests is disgraceful, and I hope whoever approved the contract is forced to get their prescriptions, vehicle registrations and restaurant orders processed through this company for the rest of their life.

I ordered a birth certificate for gov reasons> got through it all smoothly. Saw i was pretty much paying 2 different places, vitachek to look up my info and they send it to county recorder so they can print out and send (second co). I could have gotten ahold of 2nd co aand saveed $15.00. I get my email stating it was sent almost a month later stating 10=15 days. I emailed and they got back a day later stating they cant do anything because i didnt go through *** to priority mail for tracking. Couldn't afford extra $20.00 so sorry. They gave me county recorder number to call. had to wait two weeks called after two weeks and hopefully my birth certificate wont magically disappear in the mail.. My whole life the only thing that went missing in my mail was some crappy makeup from ****** and the mailman ended up bringing it the next day. So I believe they just take your money and sit around twittling their thumbs. I think people should go through the county reporters office where they wete birthed from. You cant even get a refund. Why a county has to go through a 3rd party is beyond me. I've been in a data breach through ******* *** and *******, my info and another woman with my same name were put together even our social securitry numbers. Took forever to fix that. Still dealing with that 3 yrs later. The apt. complex i moved into, the manager quit at the end of the same day i put my birth certificate in the slot and i found out no one in the office found my certificate, So someone stole that on or tossed it.

I paid $120.00 for a birth certificate to get it in 1-2 days delivery...I ordered on 9/26/24-- they took my money--then let me know I wouldn't get my certificate until 10/02/24.
It really stinks that a company that is supposed to help people is actually taking advantage.
Giving them one star actually ****** me off because they aren't worthy of one star...I'd like to put a negative 1000 stars rating on the scammers who fooled me into think they would deliver in 1-2 days for $120.00.
I could lose my job because it's taking so long and I'm sure they really don't care.
Very sad to be taken advantage of but I hope others will not fall for the scam for fast delivery

They overnighted me a letter twice saying they couldn't find my birth certificate in there system but when I contacted the county I was born in they found it? Vital check refuses to give me any part of my money back. I paid 46.50 just for a birth certificate! Customer service wasn't nice either

Doing guardianship on my mother in Ohio I need to get a birth certificate kid from the state of Indiana going to the states website they had vital check as a way to get it I went to the website did it I got charged $24.95 then they ask for other information then after sending that and getting billed that money I get an email from vital checks stating that I still owe them $81 to receive it. I called the customer service and told them that I had already paid $124 and they tell me that that is a third party to their third party and that was their fee I would still have to pay well I called the county which my mother was born in and in 5 minutes on the phone I find out that it would cost me $10 to get a copy plus the price of Stew stamps one to mail my birth certificate in a copy of my driver's license and a cell address stamped envelope for the return. Then after threatening birth certificatestate.com which must be a part of this vital check I'm supposedly getting my money back in another 3 days if not I'm going to the FBI besides doing this review these blankety blank blanks need to be put in prison

They required entering a driver's license number when I stated the reason I needed a birth certificate was for the purpose of obtaining a replacement of a lost driver's license! They would not complete the transaction until I made multiple phone calls to my insurance company to get that number. If there had been any other alternative, I would have used it.
Sadly, many states give this company an exclusive on important documents, such as birth and death certificates, etc. If you can possibly get around using them, do so. They are expensive and the web-site states, "We may sell your sensitive personal data." I am sure they will sell all of it. Probably my credit card information as well.
They deserve zero stars. I am certain they are owned by attorneys.

      Hello *****,

After reviewing your order information, we see you have an order pending with the Arizona Vital Records for a birth certificate. To complete your order please submit the identity verification form with a matching signature ( must match your drivers license). Once that form is submitted we will have the documents reviewed for further processing. The fee you were charged already is the Vitalchek fee of $15.50, that is for processing. This fee is disclosed to be charged for all Vitalchek orders including those that are cancelled or not completed. The fee is also disclosed to be non refundable. We look forward to further assisting you.

      Best Regards,

THE worst company. The states that use them as a way for people to order vital records should be ashamed of themselves and provide a reputable service. Vitalchek is owned by LexisNexis and has had terrible reviews for years and done nothing to fix the problems. The phone is never answered and services are never fulfilled and refunds are never given. Why can't people get help with this terrible company?

Website is a total scam. Vitalchek is owned by LexisNexis and based on my own experiences, LexisNexis' primary business model includes scamming their customers, so Vitalchek does the same. Ordered a death certificate and then they tell me it's going to take 140-150 business days to produce, no cancellations allowed. Just like LexisNexis - total scam artists.
