This company sucks! They advertise as being quick in responding to orders, however, the orders don't arrive as requested. Don't use them. Don't waste your money. The call center is ALWAYS full of waiting callers. I got hold of them via CHAT after jumping hoops on their website and even so they said they could not cancel my order.

Also tried to obtain my Birth Certificate. I paid close to $80 for this service to which they are claiming they are falling behind on requests. They then informed me it would take until JANUARY 2025 (I filed the request in June 2024) to receive my BC. I then asked for a refund after I was finally able to get a hold of the country clerk in the state I was born in. I asked for a refund, they said they would get it done but then a day later said the refund was denied. So the way I see it: they stole my money, they have my sensitive information, overcharged me for a product I can't get until January pretending there's some sort of problem? No. I refuse to believe it. For $80, my BC should have been in the mail THE next day.

VitalChek is not a recommended business to use for ordering vital documents. Their processing time is 131-134 business days. That's 4.5 months to wait for vital records. After I paid $81 in total for two birth certificates, I ended up having to drive to the county my daughters were born in and go to the Register of Deeds office in person. There is no way to cancel the order I placed online. VitalCheck gets to keep my money because I can't wait 131-134 business days for vital documents to be processed. Please do not use them. You will end up losing money and doing the actual work yourself.

The company is unethical. I made an error in my request and immediately notified them to cancel it. They kept my money and ignored my requests. They don't care. I don't recommend them at all. It's best to go to the County Clerk.

I gave 1 star but would have given zero if possible. I tried for 2 weeks, 4 different phone numbers I found on the internet before I got someone to talk to. She was terribly rude, over talked me and got loud with me. I ordered a long form birth certificate on June 4th. She said it was June 5th. The email I received as a receipt has my order placed as June 4th. I paid $21 for next day air saver fee. I have paid a total of $ 47.75. It is now July 8th and I still don’t have my order. When I ask when I would be getting it, she yelled at me that I would receive an email when it ships. I just hung up on her. I will not tolerate being treated like that. This person needs to be fired. She has no skills at handling complaints that are the company’s fault.

I just recently went through vitalcheck.com to get a certified birth certificate. I received a letter from the Commonwealth of Kentucky which is where I was born. And on there no records found they misspelled my middle name they put t a n instead of t i n. And also put in the wrong county. Per ****************s policy and procedures since this was their error and not mine I contacted them today at 7:16 a.m. on July 6th 2024. I first spoke to jessica. Which did not follow policy or procedure. She did not ask me for my order number when I turn around and asked her I said yes I have a question on my order she said okay well what's your question I said don't you need my order number she says no I pulled it up by your phone number so she's already in the account she didn't ask any information whatsoever and started rattle and off my personal information, and didn't even know if it was me. She didn't verify it she didn't verify it that it was me and was giving out my personal information. So then I asked to speak to a supervisor Elizabeth got on the phone which is supposedly supervisor. now to be clear vital check when you ask for somebody's name they will not give you a badge number they won't give you a last name nothing and I don't know if the first names that they gave me are correct. But Elizabeth which is a supervisor I told her what the problem was. Again she did not ask for the order number started rattling off my personal information did not have been verify it was me. After I'm stunned and just horrified that both of these individuals that were providing check didn't verify it was me and gave me all my personal information over the phone. Then I finally realized oh I called because my middle name was spelled wrong. Elizabeth which is a supervisor of vitalchek.com proceeded to let me know that Kentucky only needs the name to be 70% correct as far as spelling.. Then she states oh well tell me about the Kentucky you only needs to be 90% correct on your spelling.

I thought I was ordering a copy of my great grandfather's death certificate from ******** ***** **********, when placing the order online with VitalChek. Their website has the official Oklahoma state seal, but if you scroll down, in small print, they state they only "work" with Oklahoma to order your requested record. After filling out their online form, including my credit card number and a photocopy of my driver's license, I received an email from them saying they needed more info to complete my order and to call them, which I did. A woman said I would have to provide them with an official document that showed my direct lineage to my great grandfather. I asked her like what kind of document did that? She said a driver's license, etc. and read off a list of documents that clearly did not show what they were asking. I said her company was asking me to provide something that did not exist. She just kept reading off the list of documents they wanted. I said I wanted to cancel my order which she did but said the fee was non-refundable. I think this company just wants your credit card number and driver's license and then requests from you something that is impossible to provide so they do not have to process your order/request for a state document.

I paid $92.70 after shipping for a birth certificate on January 2, 2024.
Estimated delivery date was May 20, 2024.
      Today is June 28, 2024.
I used their "manage my order" option on the site with my order number and PIN.
The site says "To protect the privacy of our customers, your online order status information has expired. For assistance, please call our Customer Service at ___."
The number says "We are experiencing extremely long delays."

TLDR; VitalChek denies service to trans people.
VitalChek refuses to work with trans people who have had name changes. I ordered a replacement copy of my son's birth certificate. My name had been legally changed after the birth certificate was issued. I submitted my legal name change paperwork as part of the process, as well as my current identification, and a letter clearly explaining why the name was changed.
I was still denied a new copy of the certificate. I was not asking for anything to be updated on it, just a new copy issued. I asked how this was any different then someone getting married and changing thier name and was told that it simply was and they will not issue.
