On 6/12/2024 doctor ***** saw me.On 6/21/2024 I found out they lied to me about taking my insurance and they had billed me for a 30-day heart monitor instead of a 6-day one.On 6/24/2024 after many calls, I talked with *****, and she apologized for the trouble. She told me that she would only bill me for whatever the insurance paid them. Regarding the Heart monitor, she told me they only use the 2 CPT codes listed below for 30 days: "CPT ***** and CPT *****". In doing this "Cardionet the monitoring company" charges my insurance company *******. My insurance company then sends them all the money in my health savings account and only pays Cardionet ******. Cardionet gives a commotion to stern for using the wrong CPT codes.I filed a complaint with my insurance and nothing has happened

After reviewing this complaint with our business office, they say that this is between you, your insurance company and Cardionet. We billed the appropriate CPT codes and did not collect $865 from you or your insurance company. If you care to discuss this further, you can call us at ************. Thank you

I was seen in the ********** office of Sterns Cardio on 5/22/24 where I presented my insurance card with a primary and secondary insurance. I inform the representative at the desk that there were two insurances. I was told the information was put in the same. I was told at time of service that I didn't have a co-pay. Fast-forward I started getting statements about a bill and I also started getting letters to sign where they would try and bill the primary insurance again. I have faxed information to Sterns Cardio multiple times as well as placed calls with no results. Now Sterns Cardio has place the bill in collections when all they simple could have filed the secondary insurance as requested.

I am rejecting this response because:

I haven't spoken with anyone about the the matter. Its sad when a company can't tell the truth. And employees are so nonchalant to they have did something and in fact haven't.

      Sincerely,

      Complaint: 22496730

I am rejecting this response because: I'm not sure how there's a problem with the communication. But I faxed letters asking for insurance information that seems to never was filed because the insurance company never sent an ebo for Sterns Cardio in fact the only Stern only was trying to file on the primary. So as for documenting and putting into action are two different things.

      Sincerely,

According to the Director of the ***************. You have been taken out of collections and we have sent claims to all of your insurance carriers. We are unsure why you do not think this situation has been resolved. We have documented evidence that you have spoken to the business office but if you have more questions, please call again.

I am rejecting this response because:

The bill only needed to be sent to the secondary insurance which is ************ not BCBS. Also one would have to assume that the matter hasn't been resolved since there was a letter from a collection agency.
      Sincerely,

Account ******* - Referral made 6/29/2022 Sterns Cardiovascular called to schedule my appointment 7/8/2022.The appointment was scheduled for 8/10/2022 32 days to notify me that my insurance was not in their network. 8/10/2022 appointment check-in presented driver license and insurance information. After completing paperwork presented credit card for the co-pay there was confusion it would be collected at the end of my appointment, which was not standard procedure. At checkout I was scheduled for 3 tests, asked about the copay administrator confirmed my account and I was told that there was no out of pocket. I asked them to double check my insurance for the co-pay and no co-pay was collected. I was assured again of my insurance coverage. 8/26/2023 received an invoice from Sterns for $434.Sterns called me 8/29/2022 informed me I was out of network cancelled my test. I contacted my insurance company and they explained they should never have made your appointment. I had to start the process completed over and schedule an initial examination, follow up test with ******* Heart Clinic, where a co-pay was collected and other cost.I called Sterns several times to discuss the invoice for $434. I finally spoke with ***** at Sterns on 10/13/2023. On good faith I did submit the bill on the behalf of Stern to Cigna as a HIPPA claim. I spoke personally with our health coordinators and after 3 submissions Sterns was paid $260.58 by ***** on a HIPPA good faith. I do not owe them the remaining balance of $173.42. This appointment should never have occurred. ***** promised to contact me in two weeks, which I was never contacted. I consider this matter closed and I owe nothing to Sterns. They had multiple opportunities to catch this mistake. I have left several messages over the course of this issue, and no one will call me back. Last call was 2/6/2023.
