      Dollar general has very deceitful pricing on their produce.
      Packaged in twos Romaine lettuce looks to be priced at $1.95, but rings up as $3.95. Reason given is the lettuce are $1.95 each, but packaged with two.
      So you can’t just buy one, without breaking the sealed packaging.
      Other grocery stores package romaine in twos, usually around $2.95 for both.
      Why the deceitful pricing?

      This review is to implore you to be kind to others. A sleepless night with a sick child meant a stresssful morning with doctors and missed appointments. After securing transportation to do this, I went into this otherwise convenient location to buy one single thing: ant baits. I am unfamiliar with Ashland, but found myself here after ending up in a shelter for abused women. Communal living is hard; it comes with ants- which frighten my very young children.
      I opted out of going to ******* because this is closer and not as busy- why many people choose DG. I walk to the aisle and only the box was there empty. I ask the Assistant Manager if they have any more ‘of these’ She seemed annoyed when I asked her what aisle they were in previously, but she was definitely annoyed now. Squinting she says ‘More?’ I say, oh you know like any in the back, or stock or something like that. She makes a face ‘The back’ I reply like a stock room or something where other products might be. She huffs and throws her hands in the air- well I wouldn’t know where those would be. I said I don’t know either, I don’t work here. Is there someone else who may be able to help me? She says I don’t know what anybody can do….pauses briefly and gestures towards the empty space where the baits were sitting. She says ‘See?Raising her hand up and down the small section. Making faces. We’re all out, sooooo..’ feeling defeated and infuriated at the unecessary attitude- and the events leading up towards it-I said Have a great day Susan. Susan can’t help being out of something, but she can absolutely help with being kind or at the very least respectful. I didn’t want to bother her, I just didn’t want to play another game of stomp the bug with my kids that night. A small everyday product can mean literally a semblance of peace to a child at night- and that peace gives me the will to continue on despite life’s hardships. I didn’t choose my situation but I always choose kindness when I have nothing to give.

      I just had an unfortunate experience at this store. I’ve actually patronized this location often wearing the same face covering and sweat pants after leaving the gym. However I never received the horrible customer service I received today. When I walked in the store I said hi to the ladies at the front trying to be pleasant. Not one said hi back! Instead of saying hi or some other pleasantry the manager Tiffany decided to yell ABSOLUTELY NOT! Now this was right after I said hello and passed the counter so I looked back and asked if she was addressing me. She said yes and demanded I pull down or take off my face mask. This is the very moment I realized I was being racially profiled by an inept employee. I didn’t know she was the manager at the time. However I knew anyone brazen and dumb enough to try and embarrass a customer walking in by yelling this had to be inept! Tiffany proceeded to tell me that I fit the profile of a recent thief. I asked why because I’m black with sweats and a face covering? She said yes. I asked if this was company policy she also said yes. Now I know she is lying as this makes no sense! When I called Corporate they assured me it is not policy! You wear a mask to protect yourself and others from Covid pulling it down defeats that purpose! The worst part about this is her lack of decorum or analytical skills. If you believe someone is about to steal why not watch them on the camera or discreetly follow them, in order not to cause a scene!! To top it off the clueless manager had one front door locked. This is building code violation in every state in the country! When a business is open so must be the doors. This is the most basic of manager duties and knowledge, in case of fire or other emergency/disasters doors must be open or have a push bar! Tiffany obviously doesn’t know what she is doing. Trying to treat customers like prisoners and thief’s while breaking code violations

      I had made a purchase at one of the stores and was charged twice making a purchase my bank can’t help me so I’m not very happy about the outcome I have tried to contact the manager they said they would send me a check for the transaction and I haven’t received it yet it has been since the 29th of February the dg 19 still haven’t heard from anyone I am very disappointed and I may not shop at any location ever again.

      The Dollar General in Plano TX 2340 E.Park BLVD. are ripping customers off. one price tag says $3.50 but when you get to the checkout you are charged $5.00. I visit this store on a regular basis and don't want other people to be ripped off like me.
      Please check your receipt when you leave this store, or let the cashier know you're being overcharged before checking out.

      Go to check out and place the hand basket on the counter. the clerk told me to take my items out. she said it wasn't her job. she didn't put them in there and she's not taking them out. VERY NASTY attitude. she was arguing with me and my wife. Asked to speak with the manager and the clerk said she's right there and she doesn't care. The manager said she had other things to do and walked away. have been shopping there for years and go in just about every day. EVER AGAIN. both of them need to be fired. very rude and unprofessional. called corporate office numerous times . they gave me a case number and after 4 weeks still haven't heard from the regional manager. he should be fired too. worst run business i have ever seen. they are so ugly and rude and don't care about anything other than their phone or friends. hope the company goes bankrupt!!!!!

      Good Afternoon,
      I am writing to express what a great disappointment our community location is within Gilman IL.
      Today, 3:30pm cst the doors were locked with no sign posted. This a complete inconvenience and the incorrect way to offer your customers a "hassle-free" shopping experience.
      The store is most often times a disaster. It was recently closed with a note posted (this time) that there was too much inventory on the floor. Again, inconvenient.
      It is also rare that an attendant is actually at the register. You are then either forced to go on the search for one OR squeeze PIG the dog toy. How professional.......
      I understand that a new store is being constructed two lots south from where the current store stands. Perhaps a new store will encourage employees and district managers to display a little more pride in the Dollar General brand.

      These people are the rudest employees I have ever seen. The manager acts like she is on something all the time. The little black girl is hateful to everyone. They act like they get bothered when asked a question and are very rude with the response. The only helpful employee is the young Hispanic girl. She is very polite. The others are horrible. I think corporate needs to drug test them all because almost all of them act drugged up all the time. Rumor has it the manager does meth in the bathroom.

      I live paycheck to paycheck and often I have to use change to buy food. The Dollar General will not take my change. They tell me they cannot take large sums of change that is "Company Policy ". Well here's the problem with this you are in a poor neighborhood and change is U.S. Currency. I will no longer be using your store for any reason.

      The following is a copy of the email I sent to D.G. **************** today ************ Whom It May ******** I have never been made to feel so uncomfortable while shopping somewhere, as I was today by one of your ************** associates (************************************************************************************). So uncomfortable in fact, that I just left the items I was about to purchase right where I was standing, and walked out.A few minutes after entering the store, as I was getting the items I needed, the aforementioned associate began following me from aisle to aisle. Her poor attempt to disguise the fact that she was following me, made the entire situation that much more uncomfortable. This continued for four or five consecutive aisles. At which point, I was paying more attention to the associate than to what I was doing, and I accidentally knocked an item (a shampoo bottle I believe) off the shelf. Since she was right next to me, and without giving me a chance to turn around and pick it up, she very loudly remarked "You're not even going to pick that up!?" I tried to explain to her that it was an accident, but she began to loudly call for someone named *** (I assume the manager). Realizing that this situation was quickly and unnecessarily turning nastier than it needed to be, and that I would not be receiving any hospitable service, I immediately put down the items that I had in my arms, and walked out of the store.I understand employees must stay vigilant against theft, but the actions of this employee (I didn't get her name, I only know that she was in her mid-30s perhaps, with short redish hair), were entirely baseless and uncalled for.I've never written an email like this against a store employee. I'm not even certain what I expect to happen from it. But I will also be filing a formal complaint with the *********************** because the way I was treated today should never happen to anyone else.Respectfully,*************************
