This company is absolutely terrible. I have had so many issues with verbiage and nonsense on their claims process. I had an electrician come out and he was going to change my outlets out because like 6 of them are worn and old and the plugs don't stay in. AHS called them and asked for details on what they wanted to do, they said that they wanted to switch out the outlets because they are old and worn. They will be switching them out with better newer outlets that are to code. AHS said, you can switch them out because they are old and worn BUT because you said you are going to switch them out with ones that are new and to code we won't approve it because you used the word code and now it sounds like a code upgrade, which we don't cover. I HATE THIS COMPANY - Literally this kind of nonsense is their norm. DO NOT USE AHS!!!!!!!!!!!American Home Shield

Consumers beware! I have been using AHS for almost three years now. I would recommend saving the money you use for your monthly subscription and service fees and subcontract your own repairs/replacements. AHS uses bottom of the barrel contractors to make repairs to your appliances. My most recent experience with AHS was involving my refrigerator. I made a claim for my refrigerator for not cooling properly on 03/31/25. it is now two months later, and my refrigerator is still not fixed. The contactor AHS used to complete to job is *** TECHNOLOGY REPAIRS. *** has 1.7 stars on ****** and for good reason. *** has been dispatched to my house more than four times. Replacing the wrong parts, ordering the wrong parts, and misdiagnosing my refrigerator. *** also has zero communication, won't respond to calls, emails, etc. Now that my freezer door has fallen off and is leaking water, due do improper installation. AHS is insisting that *** has to be the contactor to come back out an make the repairs/diagnostic. I have been nothing but understanding, patient, and professional up to this point with AHS. When I called to explain the new problem with my freezer door falling off, I was told *** was my only option. Even though I was previously promised they would never be assigned to a future work order. When I requested to speak to a supervisor, I was told there weren't any available, but I could request one, and a supervisor would reach out to me in 24 hours. 38 hours later I received a call from the "escalation department" (not a supervisor). The escalation department again promised me that a supervisor would be reaching out to me in another 24 hours to help resolve my issue. It seems every time I call into AHS to get an update, request service, or explain an issue, nothing is every notated correctly, and no one really cares to help. If you are in the market for a home warranty, I would highly suggest skipping over AHS. Sincerely, an extremely dissatisfied customer, ****** *.American Home Shield

Absolutely the worst home warranty experience ever! I placed a service call 5/17/2024. A tech came out 5/20/205. The part needed for ***air was found to be no longer available. I was advised by customer ********************** they needed a writtien ***ort from Whirlpool. I spoke with Whirlpool as did **** from AHS and the ***ort was sent 3 times. At the poit of being 2 weeks without my appliance and hundreds of dollars sent on eating out, I was told AHS can do nothing because they don't have a ***ort. Today the rudest *** from escalations called and told me he wasn't a supervisor and I couldn't speak to anyone else until tomorrow. I am livid. I called corporate and left a message. I am demanding a resolution! Horrible and poor service is all I have experienced. No empathy or understanding. I have continued to pay my monthly membership fee and the service fee but my money is basically stolen because I still do not have a working appliance. Buyers beware of AHS.American Home Shield

Do not get American Home Shield. We paid $80/month for four years. Our water heater went out. I called 8 times, I waited a week, we had no heat or hot water, and the water heater kept flooding our basement. They sent out a technician. The technician complained after two days that American Home Shield had not approved his quote. I called. The technician was frustrated. Finally, I paid $4400 out of pocket to have it fixed. That was over a week ago. American Home Shield is still working through authorization. I called and canceled my policy.Their answer system is extremely frustrating. They have trained people (who sound like they are from another country) to follow a script that gets you nowhere. American Home Shield is my worst decision to protect my home.I never complain or post online.American Home Shield

This company sent out three different plumbers, the first didnt even bother to check the actual plumbing but told us a **** made it impossible to determine why there was a leak in our bathroom, the second never responded, and the third found the leak and began work. They denied the claim because the leak was outside the home, even though it was an internal wall. They then denied it because they couldnt access it. Of course I canceled the policy on April 7 2025 and filed a complaint with the ********************, they refunded me the 100 dollars I paid in April. Then May 26th the charged me as if everything was normal. They refused to cancel our policy today, even though the notes showed we requested it, because the correct department was closed today. This company lies to you and steals your money, and they try and gas light you and steal your time as you are duffles around on the phone and the resolution team provides you no resolution !American Home Shield

1 star is too generous. Rude, unprofessional, disrespectful, NOT AMERICAN customer **********************... You will spend FOREVER on the phone even after an entire month of incomplete repairs the service is not one of accommodation but total infuriation. If customer ********************** were within driving distance and not overseas they'd surely have a high number of face-to-face encounters. It's beyond me how they are one of the top 5 home warranty companies. In my 40 years of adulthood, American Home Shield customer ********************** is the absolute worst of ANY company of any kind I've ever encountered. ZERO STARSAmerican Home Shield

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the recent handling of my air conditioning repair claim through American Home Shield (AHS), as well as the conduct of the third-party contractor assigned to the case, ******************************When I filed the claim, my air conditioner had stopped working, and I noticed a strange humming sound coming from the outdoor motor. A technician from Max **** Air Conditioning was dispatched by AHS to diagnose the problem. After a brief inspection, he stated that the issue was with the evaporator coil, which he claimed had been damaged due to someone "touching it" and therefore would not be covered under my warranty because it was not considered normal wear and tear. The technician then informed me that replacing the evaporator coil could cost anywhere between $5,000 and $10,000. However, he added that if I chose to have his company do the repair, it would be "much less." He said he would submit his diagnosis to AHS and that I would be contacted about my options. Unfortunately, I had to wait over 48 hours for him to send the diagnostic report.Eventually, I received an email from AHS stating that the issue was indeed with the evaporator coil, which they claimed was not covered under my warranty. The repair estimate provided was $3,079.38.Given the high cost and questionable diagnosis, I decided to get a second opinion. I contacted ****** ************. Their technician inspected the system and found that the actual problem was a faulty motor and capacitornowhere near as severe or expensive as Max **** Air Conditioning had claimed. He replaced both components for just $750, including labor, and my A/C was functioning properly shortly afterward.I am deeply concerned that the original contractor misrepresented the problem to either avoid responsibility or upsell an unnecessary and expensive repair. This not only delayed the restoration of service to my home but also caused me undue stress and sufferings.American Home Shield

Thank you **** for your feedback. We sincerely apologize for not meeting your expectations regarding your home warranty and air conditioning service request. While denials are uncommon, they can occur under certain contract conditions. Please know you have the right to request a second opinion within seven (7) days from the date you were informed of the coverage decision. Kind regards, American Home ShieldJ.O.

I would like to get my money back that I paid to **** A/***********. I paid him $750 to replace my motor and capacitor. That should be taking care from my home warranty instead of my own expense. That's the reason why I took advantage of that membership just in case something happen to any of our appliances inside the house. All seniors should be aware of purchasing a membership with American Home Shield, specially with their 3rd party they are using (Mac Cool AC) They will try to create more damage to your appliances so they can charge you more than what's it should be.Review fromSkylar O

Its a never ending fight! Know your plan by heart because one day they will fix the problem and the next, oh they dont cover it. They fix a fan in one room but refuse to fix the second fan with the same problem. Saying they dont cover it. The people they send to your home are also one star rating and have poor attitude and attention. We kept having a leak in our shower and it took over a month and three different pampers to fix it. When they were done and the ceiling needed to be fix, they refused to replace/repair it all. Even tho. Its in the plan. You cant get anyone who speaks clear on the phone and they hang up on you the moment you ask 2x for them to be clear or repeat. They say they cover things and even if you point out page/ sentence of such coverage, they still find ways to deny your claim.American Home Shield

AHS was set up by my wife after years of payments from her account, statements coming in her name when we chose to cancel the service the *** told my wife they would and to make sure we did not get billing for the upcoming month. We did just that seen that we did not get charged fast forward the following month we were charged and each month after for 6 months totaling over $600 when my wife called back to dispute the charges she was told she was not the primary and couldnt close the account and we agreed to a free month of service not cancellation. After another month of disputes we continued to get the run around being told the investigation would only take a few days originally now *** after *** tells us something different. Company is a total scam they middle man ***airs and charge you still and dont cover what they say they do in the contract. And if you have a problem you get sent to a call center and given the run around and placed on hold.American Home Shield
