I purchased three Mold Armor test kits from Hime Depot. I followed the instruction for the testing procedure and decided Id pay for the ********* text option that is offered. I register each kit online on October 25th 2023 at $40 per kit (x3 = $120 total) which has been charged to my **** card. It has been a week since I mailed the kits to the lab and tried calling **************************************** to check on the status and quickly came to the conclusion that I was unable to reach anyone regarding my purchase/lab results. The customer service phone has several option to select and not one option reaches a live person but directs you to their online web site. I did visit their website and left a text and was told someone would be in touch but was not contacted as of today. I have a feeling this is a scam and would like my money returned.

On 4/5/2023 I purchased Mold Armor from *********** On the way home, the container leaked in my vehicle and caused damage. I immediately contacted ********** but they told me not to come back to the store but send photos and email of what happened. ***** was originally assigned to ********* who then referred to ****** who is a third-party administrator for claims for *******************. I believe the adjuster first called me on April 14. I sent photos of the damage to my SUV and pants and canvas bag on April 17 to Adjuster ******************, claim # P329-23-22260-01. She then requested a signed, notarized statement; I complied and sent it on April 19. I continued to contact ******************; I was then told I needed to return the container. I finally received a label and returned the container on May 17 to the new adjuster, *******************************. On May 17, ******************** told me she would get back to me in a week or two. After two weeks, I again contacted ********************, and she said she would get back to me no later than today, June 12. ******************** has not contacted me or answered the email I sent to her today. I have all the email correspondence and I have photos of the damage, the container leaked through the floor mat on the front passenger side and stained the carpet below. I have complied with every request; I want to get this claim settled so I can have the carpet repaired by an upholstery shop, replace the floor mat and other items ruined by the product. I have acted in good faith; I expect people to be responsible, I do not feel the ****** Company has been honest or respectful; I believe they are taking advantage of me, possibly because I am older, I don't know their reason. *************** manufactures this product, ultimately, they are responsible for the damages I have suffered, and I want compensation.

I have contacted the *** for *********** ****************, and pursuant to that contact, ******** has again gotten involved, but to date, no resolution, no response.  ******** contacts ****** who is the *** for ***************, nothing happens. It appears my next step is to submit a claim about ********** which is where I purchased the product that leaked in my vehicle and caused damage.  As I can see from the BBB site, this is not the first time this product has leaked and caused damage for others, and they experience the same frustration that I have in trying to get these people to respond.  I don't think I should be forced to file a suit to recover damages when I have complied with their every request.

Product in question: CITRISTRIP Paint and Varnish Stripping Gel Date of purchase: 5/18/23 Location of ********************* ******************************************************* Issue: This product does not list any warning of the consequences of its use on wooden surfaces despite a virtually ubiquitous understanding amongst those familiar with its performance that it will cause stains and dark spots/blotchiness on the wooden surfaces it is used on. Once this happens, the Citristrip user is forced to either accept these unintended consequences as permanent, or seek to remedy the issue by applying oxalic acid in such a way as to reduce or (hopefully, however unlikely) remove the stains in their entirety. The Citristrip product label makes no mention of any kind of this inevitable result for those consumers using the product on wooden surfaces. Additionally the product label recommends use of mineral spirits to remove the residue left behind. Doing this is at best an exercise in futility and at worst a scam pushed by the company ***************** which is also a key producer of mineral spirits (likely found on shelves in close proximity to Citristrip). A far more effective solution to this residue issue is simply using water and a bristle brush, as Citristrip is water soluable and therefore mineral spirits are simply the wrong tool for the job. I can accept the greed inherent to improper clean-up recommendations even if I dont condone it. What I cannot accept is this disingenuous labeling which essentially misleads consumers into thinking the product has no drawbacks. ************************* has ample evidence of the staining its product causes. And yet it has done nothing to warn consumers like me who wind up ruining an important piece of furniture because of this omission. At a minimum, this product must be labeled accordingly. This is entirely unacceptable and to do nothing in this circumstance serves as a tacit approval of the spineless business practices consumers face in the US today.

The attached documents explain the issue. I purchased Mold Armor spray and the bottle leaked and ruined my shorts. I filed a claim and after two months I received a letter from their adjuster agreeing to pay $42.64 to replace the clothing. I mailed back the release they requested on October 8 and despite numerous attempts to reach them they don't respond and have not paid the agreed upon amount. All documentation is attached.

      Hello ***************************,

I have received ******************** complaint #******** with the Better Business Bureau. After researching our records, ******************************* claim has been closed. His settlement was paid in full with ************* Check #***** for $42.62 ($39.97 plus tax), dated 12/19/2022, mailed on 12/20/2022, with an estimated arrival date of 12/28/2022.

************* requires certain procedures to be followed before paying a claim.  ******************, the adjuster that handled and approved ******************** signed release, prepares a payment voucher or receipt is less than $50 and forwarded all the documentation to my attention on December 15, 2022.  The check request was prepared and submitted to accounting for a payment processed on the same day.   Attached is the copy of the check Request submitted to accounting for payment and the check voucher stub for ******************************* claim payment.
Also, attached is the complaint ********** ******************** filed with the ** Office of the Attorney General and our response to that complaint.

      Thank you,

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I must say though that the long timeframe and lack of responsiveness to my inquiries reflects poorly on *************. The claim was initiated in August 2022 and only when I involved the ********* **** of ******** Affairs did the "process" that ************ refers to finally resolve the claim. A process that takes more than 4 months to resolve a claim of $42 clearly is in need of correction .

      Sincerely,

      ***************************

      Hello *********,

In complaint #******** filed by ************************* with the Better Business Bureau regarding the *pray and Forget House and Deck product left spots and discoloration on his siding.

The consumer was advised how the * & F House and Deck product is Bleach-Free and must be applied evenly on the surface, and over time with rain, the product will remove and removes stains caused by algae, mold, and mildew and will have the siding-looking blotchy/discoloration.  After the Chemist was consulted and advised that the product may have to be reapplied evenly on the siding.  The discoloration could occur during application and the product not being applied unevenly on the siding.  The lighter areas have been cleaned and the darker areas may be the area that was missed during the application process.

However, if ************************* no longer wants a product refund and would like to file a claim, please give me a call at **************************** and I will start a claim for him and will have an adjuster assigned to further assist him.
