work order ******, done today, Sept 7, 2022.
live chat file number is *******
Major complaint:
Oil change done, oil was poured all over the engine, into the plug wells, down into the frame and floor.
This will cause extensive damage if not already, with misfiring, hose and vacuum line degradation, and other electrical problems.
Either by willful action or terminal negligence in missing the oil fill hole, a large amount of oil was ran out onto my engine area, into the plug wells, and all over the bottom of the car frame and floor. water was also sprayed into the engine area. i have video of this for proof in addition to the shops own surveillance system.
Also, the oil type I picked at the desk was not relayed to the tech, the full synth for the $25 rebate.
The service manager handled some of my visit, but there were 2 others also involved with the work done to it.
During the oil change process I was informed that they did not want to do the other things that i brought the car in for; alignment balance and rotation, saying many things for why they didn't want to, such as the control rods are bad, shocks are bad, tires low tread, breaks getting low.
All parts and items stated are perfectly good, with the tread on 2 tires in 1 grove being just in the yellow for depth, and control rods replaced just a few months ago and showed no odd movement on wheel shake.
I demanded the work be done or a full refund for the lifetime fees paid for these 3 things. The refund couldn't be done and suggested I contact corporate about it. Eventually the rotation and balance was done.
The alignment however somehow took under 5 minutes to do and get a printout made. How is that even possible?
At the end, I get an email with their recommendations amounting to over $3200 in repairs.
Who gets over $500 to replace 4 plugs and a gasket?
I expect the damage done to be repaired at no cost to me by an unrelated service shop I approve of, and car rental with 100% insurance coverage for the duration.Initial Complaint

Re: Visit to Tires Plus 3520 Atlanta Road, Smyrna, GA. My son was driving in the area late afternoon on 9/7/22 when the car displayed a wrench light and lost acceleration. He called me since the car was mine before he got it. I had the exact thing happen years before so I knew it was a throttle body failure. **** had a customer satisfaction recall on it due to it happening on so many of their cars. It's also all over ******* and ****** searches. My son took it to this location and told them what was wrong and he was almost positive it was the throttle body. He had me on speakerphone when he talked to the person there. The employee said they would have to run diagnostics on it and it would cost $***. If he was at ******* **** *****, they would have pulled the codes for free to confirm it was the throttle body. Anyway, he left the car. On 9/8/22, Tires Plus called my son and told him they ran the diagnostics and the throttle body was defective. The quote was $1,134.58. This made no sense because I had changed it before and it takes about 10 minutes and I knew the part wasn't very expensive. I had priced it online at **** dealers and it was between $45 and $65. I knew it would be more at a physical **** dealer but not a lot more. I called Tires Plus and spoke with *****. He said the part was over $300 and .8 hours of labor which was over $*** so around $450 to replace the throttle body. When I asked about the other charges, he said that was for new spark plugs, cleaning the fuel injection system and a new air filter. I told him about the pricing at **** and he said they don't buy from ****. They use a 3rd party supplier. So, they are using a 3rd party supplier where parts are usually cheaper than **** OEM but charging 400% more for a 3rd party part than an OEM **** part. My son picked up the car without the repair and paid the $***. He then spent $78 on parts and with my help over ********, fixed it in 20 minutes.Initial Complaint

I brought my car in for an oil change on 8/8/22 and when I received my vehicle it was running roughly and gears were slipping. Firestone tried to claim my car was doing this previously but I have dashcam footage with sound showcasing my car was not doing this prior to bringing it in. I took my car to a secondary mechanic for evaluation. This shop claimed that Firestone drained my transmission fluid, added the wrong oil and too much oil, stripped my drain plug, and contaminated my coolant with oil. The secondary mechanic had my car for a few days to repair these issues. During this time I was talking with Firestone corporate and they seemed willing to pay for these charges. I signed a release form and was paid for the charges at my new mechanic on 8/22/22. A few days ago, my car started overheating and was completely drained of coolant. I brought it back to my secondary mechanic for diagnosis and they said my Radiator pressure was poor and was spilling out while the engine ran. I was quoted over $1800 for a Radiator replacement and water pump replacement and was notified these damages were from the negligent servicing I received at firestone. These were unknown damages that wasn't taken into consideration when firestone corporate made me sign the release form. Corporate is not willing to help any further with these issues. I have a very detailed receipt from my secondary mechanic with all of these findings written down and photographed.Initial Complaint

I took my car into Firestone because it was hesitating to accelerate. They changed the gasket/gasket cover and did a tune up. After driving it for about a week the check engine light came on again. My car had completely leaked all its oil out. Took it back and they said the gasket wasn't sealed properly. Got it back and it was leaking oil. All the oil had leaked out AGAIN. Had it towed there and they "fixed" it again. My car still has a small oil leak and now my check engine light came on again saying my turbo charger needs to be replaced. The turbo charger became damaged from the car leaking all the oil out twice. I called them 3 weeks ago to file a claim and have called back 3 times since then within the past 2 weeks and no one has contacted me about my issue. I have even emailed them and still no call backInitial Complaint

On 6/2/22 I went to the Fairport/Perinton store and spent ALOT of money and had both front end and rear brakes done-pads and rotors. I spent $1085. After about a week or 2 weeks, I started having issues, my truck was shaky, making noises and so I reached out to the store, contacted corporate and emailed and filed complaints and still to this day no one has contacted me back or helped. My vehicle only became worse over time and became unsafe to drive. On 9/2, I took it to the ******* store and not only were the brand new pads and rotors completely ruined but my calipers were as well. Not only did I have to waste 3+ hours of my time for repairs again, but I had to pay another $453. One of the employees stated on 6/2 -they should have replaced the calipers as well or at least recommended replacing calipers as well, but they did not which in turn caused more damage. I was grateful the ******* store waived the cost for the pads and rotors because they had recently just been replaced, but the fact this even happened is absolutely unacceptable and unfair to me. If defective and/or no good pads/rotors werent installed in the first place, I would not have had to go through all of this.Initial Complaint

A total nightmare. Last month our car broke down on the highway. We took it to the nearest mechanic-- this Firestone in Middle town, CT. They said it was the clutch which took them two days to repair, days we lived in hotels. We paid 1800 just for the fix. Plus hundreds in hotels -- not to mention our food costs, time off work etc. But we say thank you and we leave. We get that things can take longer than predicted.
But what happens next is inexcusable. 466 miles later, a terrible grinding noise. We call, they say take it to your nearest Firestone auto. We take it to the one in Princeton, NJ. They claim it's the breaks which are "totally worn down." They want another $500. If they are indeed totally worn, why didn't Middletown tell us? Manager in NJ said this would've been heard on a test drive. Either way there is a promised complementary check & I was told I was ok to drive-- worn breaks is not a joke. Manager in NJ also tells us tire light is on/ bottom plastic is loose etc showing a lack of due diligence . But what's more how is it that this appeared right after getting the clutch getting replaced?
Firestone Auto commits to getting it right or repair is on them; turns out it's just words. The manager in middle town, *****, told the manager in NJ this wasn't his problem because he went "above and beyond" to get me my parts for the clutch -- as though what parts he has in stock are my fault (in fact due to the non presence of the part I had to stay an extra night in the hotel, though I was promised the repair would be complete that first day by another worker). So now I have to take time out of work, again, because i have to escalate this through their customer service. I was told an area manager would call "at some point" in the next 48 hours so here I am trusting this company yet again to get it right and paying even more money in the process.Initial Complaint

At 11am on 9/1/22 I dropped my 2013**** 335xi off to have my rotors replaced and informed them that I need the car back same day. I got a call at 12:42 saying the vehicle needed front tires and rotors. I again informed tires plus that I need the car back same day. I called throughout the day to check on the car and was told they were waiting on parts because the wrong part was sent. At close to 5pm I called again and told them I was coming to pick up my vehicle because I needed it back and it was getting late. I was assured the manager went to get the part and it would be ready by close of business. At 5:34pm I got a call saying the tech left and couldn't get my car. I informed them I had to have my car back and was brush off. Was told it's nothing they can do and that I will just have to wait. Was told the car was not put back together. I drove up to the store my car was on the lift with the hood up unfinished. Even though a tech was still present the business refused to give me my vehicle I even called the police. When I left I informed them to put my old parts back on and I will be there 1st thing in the morning to get my car. Then excuses starting being made about where my parts were that were removed from my vehicle.Initial Complaint

I purchased 2 new tires in July 2022. 2 days after that purchase, I got a flat tire. I took my 2019 **** ****** in to have the tire fixed via the roadside hazard coverage included in purchase of my tires.
After fixing the tire (off of car), I dropped my vehicle and the keys to Firestone employees to put back on my car, however, stated it would be awhile so I road the bus home. When I returned to pick up my vehicle, they had parked it in the parking lot all the way around the corner from the entrance. I retrieved my keys and began walking to my vehicle when I noticed a large dent above the tire they were working on. When I told the Firestone employee, he said they had no cameras, wouldn't file a claim cause it was in parking lot, & I would have to call police.
After speaking with firestone headquarters, they have denied any liability despite that I gave them my undamaged property and when they gave it back to me it was 4k+ dollars damaged. As a courtesy they offered me 1/2 of my deductible. I think this is absolute trash! They had 100% control of my vehicle! They parked it! How am I liable for anything except choosing them!
I think this is absolutely awful the way they want to pass the buck onto the consumer. They want me to try to find a needle in a haystack of who damaged my car because THEY have no cameras on site. So how does anyone know exactly what happened! Firestone has stuck me with a bill for simply choosing them as a service provider and that is wrong! I shouldnt have to add to my insurance record a claim that I wasnt responsible for! I did not choose what happened to my vehicle when they were in possession of it!
