Metropolis Parking is charging rates not listed on their signage. They purposely misguide patrons with signs displaying cheaper rates but bill you something completely different. There is no physical information on signs at the actual garage about timing for the 'day rates' or 'weekend rates' besides misguiding language that intends to deceive people to park there. The app doesn't offer any additional clarification when you scan the ** code to enter your plate and CC information. When I contacted them about the incorrect billing that occurred they were dismissive and completely unhelpful. I will actively avoid any parking lot owned by this scummy business.Business Response

Metropolis of Renton wrongly Charged me for parking when I had used a 100% discount coupon provided by my employer who already paid for the parking service. No where in the premise or in their app say that we have to scam every single time we exist even though we have a first five day 100% discount coupon. I only came to know about their special rules when I reached out heir customer service after looking at the charges on my credit card. Such a terrible design of the product and services. I believe they intentionally hide these special instructions so that they charge the customers and never refund them even when they have discount coupons. When they already have my car's license plate recorded the first time I claimed the coupon and when the coupon is valid for first five days why can't they use the same coupon for the entirety of five days? Why do they expect customers to scan/claim the discount every single time we exit even within those 5 days? Because they are shady business. Feeding on innocent customers. These are deceptive processes they have. When I reached out them for a refund they simply refuse to give me refund. Basically they charged me and my employer for the same parking leading to double charging for a service.Customer Answer

I had parked at a local Target (that had and continues to have a policy of 2 hour free parking) for 37 minutes on 9/29/24 from 3:05pm to 3:42pm. Exact policies have shifted repeatedly at this location, most recently allowing people to enter and leave the attached parking lot without any sort of manual validation for free under 2 hours. This had been the case all the way up to 9/23/24 when I had entered and exited the lot without any sort of validation for $0.00, a fact that Metropolis's support team refuses to accept despite screenshots from their own website. However, as this company had my payment information tied to my license plate from previous visits when no action was required to take advantage of this free 2 hour period, they were able to take $11 without any sort of warning or recourse. Signage does not consistently and accurately represent the current parking validation procedure when these changes occur. Customer support refuses any sort of good-will resolution to this issue, even when providing a receipt of items purchased from this visit. Based on their refusal to budge in any way and rate of $11 per 37 mins of parking, it is clear this company relies on confusion and unfair business practices to make their money, instead of simply charging people a fair rate to park in their lot.Business Response

8/25/24 I parked at the metropolis garage **********************************************. There was no parking attendant, no gates, and no clear signs stating it was a garage which charged parking fees for usage of the garage. I recently received a bill stating owed them $14 for unpaid parking fare plus a violation fee of $70.25Customer Answer

On 9/27/24 I was overcharged for parking. No attendant would allow me to pay by credit card without using the app, by ignoring my presence at the booth. As seen in the images I provided of the rate cards displayed in the parking facility, the day rate was advertised as lower, and I was overcharged by $9.24. I disputed the difference with Metropolis and they said that the charge was valid, even though displaying a different rate than is charged for parking is illegal in *************. I want the business to change their rate cards to be accurate and provide me with a billing adjustment, and I would like them to acknowledge the wrongdoing.Initial Complaint

On July 15, 2023, my husband and I had a rental car damaged by Metropolis valet at ******************* in *****, **. We were visiting our daughter who was a resident there. It has been over a year, and we have made numerous inquiries in person, by phone, by email and have gotten absolutely no response or resolution. The damage was noted immediately with the valet and management of the building, and we were assured that it would be taken care of. We didnt even ask for full damages as that was paid by the insurance. We are only asking for the $500 that we spent for our deductible. We have the bill from enterprise Rent-A-Car with the $500 outstanding payment that has also been forwarded to the valets many times. We paid the $500 to Enterprise so it did not affect our credit. I have continuously requested to view the video they say they have showing, according to them, they were not responsible. They are unable or unwilling to produce that.Business Response

This business incorrectly charged my credit card on numerous occasions without my consent. I had saved my vehicle license plate, as well as my girlfriend's license plate in their system. My girlfriend's plate was saved over two years ago when I offered to pay for parking. However, I did not realize that it would be saved in my profile along with my credit card to pay for future ********** girlfriend lives in an apartment complex where she pays for residential parking in a garage. This is separate from the guest parking garage that Metropolis operates. However, my credit card has been charged by their system over $300 for services that she did not render. Again, she parks in the resident portion of the garage, not the guest parking. Yet, she is still being charged for guest parking on many occasions. The most recent charge of $130 was during a time period where she was not even in the same state as the parking garage in *********. I have reached out to Metropolis and received the most horrific customer service I've ever experienced. It is impossible to get somebody live on the phone. It feels as if this company intentionally makes it virtually impossible to dispute transactions/contact them via phone because part of their business model is retaining these illegitimate charges. Please let me know if your team needs further details. I greatly appreciate your help in getting this resolved, as I have tried every other possible avenue to no avail.Business Response
