I visited ********* on 10/21/22 and parked in a ramp run by Metropolis. I parked briefly in the ramp to figure out their system and then go online and pay. Those 6 minutes were captured on camera. I then moved and parked in spot 187. If they thought I violated their policy, then why didn't they take a second photo of me in spot 187 and bill me since (as of today), the charge has not shown up on my credit card statement? There are 2 errors; one is the billing for 6 minutes, a second is not capturing a photo of me when I parked and was in the ramp for several hours. There is no signage when you drive in or out as to the cost of parking or a phone number to call. I am not the most technological person and found that I needed to download their application to pay for the parking spot by credit card. I thought I did that but there is no immediate confirmation given and I made sure to take a picture of my parking spot so when I left the ramp so I could find my way back (4th and *********************************). Ironically, the parking ticket says I was only in the ramp for 6 minutes but I was actually there for 5-6 hours. I received a Notice of Parking Ticket in the mail and want to dispute the bill ($8 for parking and $70.25 late fee). This is ridiculous! There was no confirmation of my bill payment so I just had to assume the payment went through. I captured a screen shot on my computer of the ** code. I am not opposed to paying the reasonable parking fee of $8. I am disturbed the company can charge an outrageous amount for the late fee. I left a message for the company today 11/10/22 at 2:10 pm. I am hoping I can resolve this dispute over the phone with the company. I wanted to register a complaint as soon as possible to document my attempts at correcting this situation. Violation number ***********. Any help would be appreciated.Business Response

After scanning the ** code to park I went on to enjoy my dinner and left assuming a payment had been made to my account, the arm lifted and allowed me to leave the parking garage. I received a notice of an unpaid parking ticket with exorbitant fees attached! It is due Dec 7 or will be submitted to a debt collector! This feels like Im being extorted for more money than the parking fee was and the company can not be reached. Help!Business Response

on 8/19/22 I parked at one of their parking lots. downloaded the app and input what i thought was the correct license plate number. I was in a commercial work vehicle and did not know if i should input the letters that are out of place. I received a ticket to my surprise after I had already filed a claim with them because my transaction didnt properly process. I heard nothing until I received a fine and a $91 ticket for what should have cost less than $10. I tried to reach out to them multiple times but their email system is so slow that I didnt even know if they responded. When i received another notice it was for a different reason than the first. This place has no one to speak to about issues and is terrible at responding. I was forced to pay the ticket because I was in a work vehicle and was put at risk of being fired because of it. I have all the proper documentation for this claim.Initial Complaint

I was visiting *********, **. My daughter lives there. We parked at the Metropolis Parking Garage at the gulch. My daughter said they send you a bill by your license plate, so I didn't do anything about parking. I received the first bill in September 2022. I sent a message to the company stating that the fee is very high and I'd pay the bill right then if they took it off. I also stated that I had recently visited again, so there is another bill and I could I pay that now, too to avoid the $70 fee. They emailed back saying that they would take $20 off of the violation fee but didn't answer me about the other parking fee that I had accrued. I logged in online and they still hadn't changed the fee. I am not paying these until something is figured out. These fees are out of control and I refuse to pay.Business Response

We visited ********* from ** and were looking for a place to park while we had lunch down the street. All of the nearby on-street parking meters were full, but we find a "Public Parking" ramp on the back side of the ***************** (**** *******., *********). Upon entering the ramp there were no signs posted about needing to pay or how to pay, there were no gates or arms or kiosks indicating there were costs to park. The only sign we saw was one regarding Uber Parking, but that didn't apply to us since we weren't Uber.I'm attaching screenshots of ****** Maps Street View to show what we saw upon entering the ramp; *************** (besides the Uber sign) stating there are fees and how to pay them. To us, the lot looks like free public parking, and based off of the ****** map images, a reasonable person would draw the same conclusion. Needless to say we were shocked when a bill shows up in the mail (also attached) weeks later. After some ****** searching, I see multiple news articles regarding this exact same issue and feel as though this is is a predatory business practice and falls well outside of what is considered ethical business practices.Business Response

I used a Public Parking garage in ********* on 10/16/22. The address where I entered the garage is ***************************************. Upon entering the garage there was no gate or pay kiosk anywhere. I recieved a Parking ticket in the mail from Metropolis Payments stating I owe an unpaid parking fare of $6.00 and also a ticket fine of $70.25. There was no indication anywhere I entered the garage that there is a parking fare needed or a QR code to scan for payment. After multiple attempts to contact them to have this matter resolved I have not successfully had any luck.Business Response

I parked in a lot owned by a company called Metropolis. When I tried to pay using the website and QR code, neither one worked. There was no number for me to call. I ended up leaving the lot thinking I would be sent a bill for the parking. What I received was a citation for 10 times the amount of what it cost to park there. I do not believe this is a fair business practice. I am willing to pay the amount it costs to park there, but not willing to be exploited in this way.Business Response

On June 4th, a friend and I pulled into a parking garage in *********,** owned by premier parking. When we saw the garage there wasnt an attendant present and the gate was open. We parked and we attended a concert across the street. When we got back we started to look for information on how to pay and we saw a little sign in one of the pillars. It said to download an app or go to the website to pay so we followed instructions. We tried several times to pay through the portal but it kept coming back as error. We tried for a while and decided to just say forget it and we left. Next thing i know, im getting a bill saying i owe premier parking $100.25 with pictures of my license plate coming and going. I think this is a scam and they probably get people like this all the time. They should definitely get investigated for these actions. Why else would a garage be open with no available staff, no physical way of paying and the gate wide open.Business Response

I parked in downtown ********* Nov 3,2022. I proceeded to pay for parking with my card. I put in all information and pushed submit. Then I went on to my venue. Returning two hours later there was a boot on my car and sticker on my window. I called the number telling them to please get boot off my car as I had paid for my parking. Someone came a few minutes later saying he could not remove the boot until I paid the $75 boot fee. So this night of two hours of parking cost me $110. The $75 went to Tristar enforcements.Business Response

Premier is now Metropolis Parking. My violation number is *********** occurring 8/19/22. My band played at the club across the street, and our parking gets partially validated by the club. The instructions when parking are: scan the ** code, enter payment method, etc, and when you leave, simply drive out. I already had a Metropolis account set up from previous parking, so when I was done registering parking that night, I was instructed to simply drive out when done. After the band played, the bar validated our parking, and I assumed the rest would be paid from my account. Four of us in the band received tickets from this evening. I responded to the ticket I received and tried to resolve via email (the only available method), and they quickly responded no payment was found and the case is closed with no appeal. I asked to speak with a person and they will not respond. I should at least get credit for the validation, but I feel that they should just re-charge me for parking if the payment did not connect properly, and eliminate the penalty. Thank you !Business Response
