They advertise WRONG fee's for cancelation. I unfortunately had to cancel my RV trip. I calculated the 25% fee (per their cancelation policy) with the Service fee and taxes you pay on the cancelation fees. Here is their policy, "Cancellation Moderate policy Cancel before Jul 30, 2024: 75% of the booking total is refundable (you pay 25%)Cancel on or after Jul 30, 2024: 50% of the booking total is refundable (you pay 50%)The service fee, and the tax you pay on it, are not refundable. The insurance and other taxes are."They DO NOT refund the insurance policy if you cancel before the trip. The person on the phone stated they refund the "Vehicle Protection Package" and NOT the ***************** I pointed out their website states differently. They have escalated my claim as this cost me $155 more than I had planned when canceling the trip. I should have logged in and canceled the trip insurance, changed the delivery to fee (and not paid to have it delivered), this would have saved me hundreds of dollars. DO NOT USE OUTDOORSY. They also do NOT give the 25% fee to the host. He only received 17% of the 25%. Outdoorsy KEEPS the difference. I should have checked the ratings here on BBB to see they have a 1.11 out of a 5. HOW they are an A+ business is beyond me.Outdoorsy, Inc.

Hi ********, we're very sorry for any confusion regarding the ************** included in your canceled booking. Please allow me to clarify that the insurance referred to the cancellation policy in your booking receipt is the Insurance Protection Package which was fully refunded to your original payment method upon cancellation. The non-refundable ************** is an optional insurance offering that supplements the Insurance Protection Package and is an add-on to the reservation that provides guests protection for unexpected circumstances that may arise and can cover up to $50,000 in approved travel expenses for travelers. Transparency is very important to us, so thank you for sharing your feedback and bringing this to our attention. We recommend that you contact our ************** provider, SiriusPoint America Insurance Company (SPAIC), at ************ to inquire about coverage. You may begin the claims process by filling out the appropriate claims form found at SPAIC's claim center (**************************************), and provide your ************** Membership ID listed in your booking receipt. Should you have any questions, concerns, or additional feedback you'd like to share, please don't hesitate to contact our 24/7 Customer Support team at ************. Once again, thank you for taking a moment to provide us with your feedback.Review fromChris J

I've rented my vehicles via Outdoorsy for three years now. On a recent rental, one of my clients had a minor issue with their rental. We discussed and decided a small refund would be best suited to resolve the situation. Outdoorsy instructs you to call them if you would like to refund your client for something other than a cancellation. When I called I was told that Outdoorsy would keep their 25% cut of the refund. That's right, Outdoorsy keeps their 25% "host service fee" on the amount of money you REFUND as the host. Outdoorsy is not much of a service but provides a great disservice to both the renter, to whom they charge exorbitant fees and force the sale of often redundant insurance products but also the owner, from whom they take a 25% cut, even when the owner didn't ultimately keep those funds. I would love to see another business disrupt Outdoorsy and provide a quality, peer to peer, platform for rentals. Most renters already have adequate auto insurance that covers their rental. Most owners need little more than a platform/market on which to rent their rigs and a payment processing service that allows for security deposits to be held appropriately. What nobody needs is Outdoorsy in the middle of it all, bilking all parties for every ***** they can.Outdoorsy, Inc.

Hi *****, we're sorry you're dissatisfied with our refund and insurance policies. Although our service fees are non-refundable, we are pleased to inform you that we've gone ahead and processed a refund for the service fee to your guest's original payment method as a courtesy. Additionally, we require our insurance protection package for all bookings to ensure that all our members are protected and covered. We've raised the bar when it comes to trust and safety, and we'd like to reassure you that we strive to keep our insurance fees as low as possible while providing high-quality protection packages and services to meet the needs of the Outdoorsy community. Please rest assured that we've shared your feedback with our teams, and thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback.Review fromTIMOTHY C

the worst service ever, they just want money and to back up the host, cant get a hold of anybody. the ** we rented left my family stranded on the side of the road with 3 tires going bad and 2 of the tires we had to pay out of pocket to replace, the host does not want to refund or respond to any messages as well as outdoorsy, customer service keeps sending me around to multiple people to contact but no one reaches out and nothing is being done, there are a crapload of 1 stars for a reason, definitely do not use as I will not be using again. I plan to upload a Tiktok of proof with receipts of the tire changing, and emails that have been constantly sent but no reply from customer service and as well from the host. take your money elsewhere this company is just money hungry.Outdoorsy, Inc.

I've rented my RV on Outdoorsy for several years now. They are very creative in taking all of the responsibilty out of their hands and putting it on you and the renters. Rather than make a seamless process in their app, they leave enough loopholes for owners to miss, that the assume no liability. Not too mention, when a renter does damage your RV, they pursue their own personal insurance before honoring the policy they bought through Outdoorsy. So, it's a long process and they have no care or interest in your RV.Outdoorsy, Inc.

Hi ******, thanks for your feedback, and we're sorry to hear you had a less-than-perfect experience with our claims process. We always aim to provide a smooth and easy claims experience, and we sincerely apologize for any delay in processing your claim. We value all of our members and wouldn't have a product to provide to guests if it weren't for our valued hosts. Upon reviewing your account, it appears that your claim was resolved on 6/27 and a direct deposit was processed to your bank account. Please rest assured that we've shared your feedback with our Claims team, and thank you for being part of the Outdoorsy community.Review fromAmanda H

We were parked/unhooked and set up on our rented site in a campground and our fifth wheel was hit by a motorhome rented through Outdoorsy. There was proof of insurance purchased through Outdoorsy. Our insurance has yet to have successful contact with the insurance company listed on the card. It will be two years this summer. Our insurance had to cover our damages and are still attempting to to recover the cost from Outdoorsy. We are now out our deductible because of this situation.Outdoorsy, Inc.

Hi ***, we're sorry to hear you've had a less-than-perfect experience with our service. Upon investigation, it appears that your host filed a damage claim, so your security deposit is On Hold. Please allow me to clarify that a security deposit "hold" is not an actual charge to your payment method, but rather a temporary "hold" of the amount agreed upon for your particular booking. A "hold" only lasts for a certain period - in most cases 7 days. Because of this standard, security deposit holds are released after the "hold" period and reauthorized until the claim is resolved. Should you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach back out to your claims adjuster within the email thread that you've been communicating. Thanks for taking the time to provide us with your feedback.Review fromDana S

I'm not surprised to see they only have 1 star with the BBB! CLOWNS!!! Don't host with OUTDOORSY!!! They are greedy scumbags to work with and multiple times I've had issues with them!! I've had nothing but horrible service and headaches with them! I'm getting off the platform and taking matters into my own hands and going to RV Share.Outdoorsy, Inc.

We're very sorry to hear that you're dissatisfied with the platform. This is definitely not the intended experience we'd prefer our hosts to have, so thank you for sharing your feedback with us. After a thorough investigation by multiple supervisors and our engineering department, it was determined you had setup a discount code to automatically apply to bookings during the check-out flow, thus reducing your nightly rate by 10%. Although it was determined to be user error and not a technical glitch, I'm pleased to see our support specialists were able to apply a credit to your Outdoorsy account to offset some of the revenue lost due to the discount code. It appears you have removed the code from your account now which will remove the discount trigger, but please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team if you need any additional assistance. Thanks again for taking a moment to share your feedback with us.Outdoorsy, Inc.

They were happy to charge me for a trip but getting them to issue a refund has been very difficult. I then asked for an itemized receipt and they told me thats not required. How can you refund someone and not show them the math? Its shady at best and fraud at worst.Outdoorsy, Inc.

Hi ****, thank you for posting a review, and we're so sorry to hear that you're dissatisfied with our refund process. Transparency is very important to us, so we'd like to reassure you that we provide an itemized breakdown of the reservation which includes the rental amount, add-on fees, insurance, service fees, and taxes in our booking receipts.
