      We rented a Jayco Granite Ridge RV from ***** and **** via Outdoorsy on 08/15/2023. The RV's water system failed, leaving ** without a shower, sinks, or toilet. Despite efforts to troubleshoot with **** and Outdoorsy's help securing repairs, we couldn't use the water until 08/19/2023 after paying $680.66 for repairs, which ***** promised to reimburse. Despite multiple attempts, we struggled to get a refund from the owners, and Outdoorsy hasn't followed up. This significantly impacted our vacation, and we eventually got the repair costs back after much hassle. We would have liked a full refund for ruining our vacation and not just the money we had to pay to repair their pump - which we received months later with no help from Outdoorsy. We even had the piece of mind insurance deductible that didn't help at all either which we aren't even sure its purpose as it didn't seem to help our situation at all. Terrible company, stay away. Also you only have 14 days to leave a review after the trip day so we weren't able to put this on their profile- partially because I didn't want to **** them off more before we got at least the money for the pump back.

      God awful customer service. Reserved a trailer on Friday for following Wed-Sun. As of today (Tuesday), still have not been approved for the rental after them taking $1300. They won't approve the rental (with 16 hours to pickup) nor refund our money. We have had 15 phone calls in 48 hours with zero assistance. We have an out of town MX race that cannot be "rescheduled" as they state we should do. Sadly disappointed

      I should have never tried to rent through Outdoorsy. I wish I would have read the reviews. The same exact thing happened to me. They kept a service fee for services not rendered due to a ridiculous policy after I cancelled my trip due to uncontrollable circumstances 6 months in advance. They blamed the owner who had no control and he didnt receive any of the funds. They are unethical and 100% crooks! This is no way to do business. I urge everyone to avoid this platform at all cost, you will not get a refund of cost if you have to cancel even if its say 100% refund before x date.

Upon reviewing your account, it appears that your host has a "flexible" cancellation policy for their listing which stipulates that a guest will receive a 100% refund of the booking total when the booking is canceled more than 5 days before the trip's start date; however, our service fees including tax is non-refundable. Please accept our sincere apologies for any frustration it has caused you, but please rest assured that we've passed your feedback along to our teams.

      Terrible experience! We booked an ** in January for a trip in early April for the solar eclipse. In late March the owner informed us that the ** had "somehow been double booked" and that he was canceling our reservation. Two of my friends had also booked **s from the same owner and, the same day, he canceled their reservations, telling them that their **s had been damaged in trips over the weekend and that they would not be available that weekend. The owner claimed that is was Outdoorsy's fault and that they had my ** rental become double booked. I learned from Outdoorsy that he had the same **s listed twice on their platform and they were both available to be booked instantly. The company allows this!I ended up having to cancel my whole trip and had to forfeit deposits on two different campgrounds. I will never book anything from this company again!

      Beware of Outdoorsy's Misleading Cancellation Policy and ********************* I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience with Outdoorsy, a company that seemed promising for RV rentals. My ordeal began when I booked a van for a trip in June, well in advance. Realizing the costs were too steep for my budget 10 days later, I decided to cancel, expecting a reasonable refund considering the trip was nearly 5 months (June ****) away. To my shock, I discovered that Outdoorsy had a hidden trap in their cancellation policy, costing me over $1000 in cancellation fees, for a service I never utilized.The van owner, under the guise of convenience, persuaded me to switch from Turo to Outdoorsy, which I suspect was a maneuver to exploit Outdoorsy's cancellation policy for his financial gain. Outdoorsy's policy, which mercilessly penalizes customers for cancellations made outside a narrow 48-hour window post-booking, is both unfair and predatory, especially when cancellations are made well in advance of the booking date.Their defense? A rigid adherence to a policy that favors hosts at the expense of customers, trapping hard-earned money with no service provided. The fact that this trip was months away and the rushed booking process facilitated by the van owner makes this policy even more egregious.Outdoorsy's lack of transparency and customer empathy has left me feeling cheated and disillusioned. Their policies do not protect the interests of the customer but serve to enrich themselves and their hosts at our expense. I caution anyone considering using Outdoorsy for their RV rental needs to think twice. You may find yourself, like me, out of pocket for services you never received, entangled in a web of unfair policies designed to profit from your change of plans.Avoid Outdoorsy if you value your money and seek a fair, customer-centric rental experience. There are other platforms out there that respect and protect their customers' interests far better.

Upon reviewing your account, it appears that your host has a "moderate" cancellation policy for their listing which stipulates that a guest will receive a refund of 75% of the booking total when the booking is canceled more than 7 days before the trip's start date. Please accept our sincere apologies for any frustration it has caused you, and we're very sorry you feel that our 48-hour free cancellation window is too short.

      Our family of 6 is planning a 10 day road trip this summer and wanted one vehicle comfortable for us all. I found the perfect vehicle on Outdoorsy, absolutely stunning! We were all so excited. The booking was glitchy and instead of charging a deposit with the reservation I was charged the full $1,300 for the trip that doesn't start for 5 months! I contacted customer service, they fixed it and charged me $757 in Feb. for a Jul. trip, balance later. I never received a confirmation from the vehicle owner, just from Outdoorsy. A few weeks later my daughter inquired about vehicle features and found out the vehicle was sold a year and a half ago and the owner can't get Outdoorsy to remove it. I contacted customer service to cancel and refund all my money. I was told they won't refund my money unless the vehicle owner verifies my claim. Now the vehicle owner has become unresponsive too. If you try to cancel the reservation on Outdoorsy they keep a service charge of $145. It's a total mess and Outdoorsy accepts no responsibility in validating a reservation, or vehicle availability or promptly refunding my money. For a finish, I'm now disputing the charge with my credit card company under fraud protection. Outdoorsy took my money, won't refund it, for a vehicle that isn't available. These people are scammers! Watch out!

      I have had 5 rvs listed on Outdoorsy and rvshare for 3 years. 5% of my business comes from outdoorsy. I have not been impressed in any way of how outdoorsy operates. I had an outdoorsy customer contact me last minute due to a previous rental being canceled. The renters damaged my rv and tried to hide it and deny that they damaged it. I had pics of before and after that proved the rv did not return in the same condition. Outdoorsy spends alot of time promoting that the insurance they provide has you covered. As an experienced owner i can tell you to think twice before you believe that. Outdoorsys insurance has been completely unresponsive and after more than a month they still have not moved forward with paying this claim. I asked to speak to a manger on January 27th. It is Febuary 14th and i have still not heard from a manager. I was told by an employee named ******* that he is the person i have to deal with because they can not allow me to speak to a manager. You are 100% at risk in many ways renting on outdoorsy. If you read the reviews here they simply reply with the same message and do not even try to rectify true issues within the business. Being in the rv rental business is a risk and with outdoorsy the risk is far greater than the reward. Simply put i would not rent an rv or list an rv on outdoorsy. They have terrible reviews from owners and renter involved with insurance claims for a reason. Outdoorsy has accepted terrible reviews for a 3rd party insurance company handlings and continues to do so. I have spoken to many people with outdoorsy, they all say the insurance is 3rd party and they have no control or avenue to ask for them to expedite anything. Outdoorsy has no leadership/future. I removed my entire fleet from the site and only leaving this review to hopefully spare anyone who is thinking about listing on outdoorsy to reconsider. They worked hard to get the 1.2 rating they have on the better business bureau.

      Outdoorsy *************** is crooked as they come. They severely overcharge for insurance and then deny all coverage. It is on the owner or renter of the ** to cover all damage through their personal insurance even though an outdoors policy was purchased and paid for. They take weeks to respond to e-mails and then months later deny coverage. Do not rent on this platform until they get their insurance figured out.

      This is an abbreviated review because there truly is not enough space to explain how frustrated and immensely disappointed we are. As a host on Outdoorsy, ALL other hosts and renters BEWARE. The claims department is an absolute nightmare. They take weeks and weeks to respond or make any sort of "progress" despite them stating most claims are resolved within 5-7 business days. Our last claim took over 3 months to resolve and in the end, I had to fight absurdly hard for them to barely cover 1/8th of what the actual damages were. We are left with a significantly depreciated van due to damages that occurred on a renters trip, mind you that the renter paid insurance for. Our current claim is currently 6 weeks in with literally no update except someone telling me they would again not cover a SIGNIFICANT part of the damages, despite the renter confirming and acknowledging these damages. Our van has continued to sit for MONTHS this year because of the damages and is unable to be rented due to its condition. They are causing us a significant loss of revenue. Our recent renter paid $3000 to have insurance on his trip, yet Outdoorsy still denies supporting the renter despite the statement from the renter and multiple conversations the renter has had with the reps. A quick ****** search will show that others have had a significant experience in being scammed by this company via their insurance. I can't express this enough, use any other platform and DO NOT list your van or trailer with this company.
