If you are an owner thinking about renting on Outdoorsy be wary. Their claims department is TERRIBLE to deal with. Our RV was recovered after being stolen on an Outdoorsy trip. 24 days later it is just sitting at the place it was towed to without an estimate for repairs. The claims team is horrible to deal with and will not respond to any questions we have and will not respond to our repair facility to give any guidance.Outdoorsy, Inc.

After renting an ** from ************************** through Outdoorsy (O) we feel it necessary to warn future renters. Unfortunately we trusted the host. We would like to list our issues but there is not enough space. Very briefly, we were rented a trailer that did not work as advertised. And we were falsely accused. The host made claims against us but O never provided us with copies of the hosts supporting photographs and documentation of alleged damage. Without that there was no way to evaluate the hosts self-generated alleged claims. O's Terms and Conditions mandate the host to submit photographs 48 hours before the ** is rented and 48 hours after return. There was no proof provided to us that the ** was maintained before we picked it up or in disrepair when we returned it. We submitted documentation. We did sign a document at initial walk through stating things were in working order not knowing the hidden issues. We are disappointed by O's performance in attempting to reach a settlement of the dispute. Initially, O said they would give us $200 refund for our spoiled food. We received nothing but they gave funds to the host. We saw no meaningful actions on behalf taken by **** tried to go after our deposit after they said they wouldn't. They were not able to get our deposit because we put a hold on our card after reading of so many renters having their deposits taken without prior knowledge of a concern. Also, Os review process leaves one wondering about their professional ethics. After reading pages of reviews we learned that renters would write good reviews only to be charged for unproven damages after the review is posted. There is no way to replace the review with an updated review. Therefore, it appears that one can not trust the positive reviews on O or PWC. Because we waited to post a review until the dispute was finalized we could not write a review on O. We believe O is not monitoring their hosts and therefore putting renters in unsafe situations.Outdoorsy, Inc.

I was an ** owner on Outdoorsy until they screwed me out of $5K because I reused photos. As the interior/exterior of my ** don't change from one renter to the next, I didn't see an issue with this because all items that have any issues are documented and acknowledged on the departure form with the renters after we do a thorough walkthrough/around and I provide detailed instructions (1+ hr briefing and show them how everything works and that everything that isn't documented does work properly.) My previous renter had a tire blow out. I check all tires before/after each rental, maintain proper inflation, add air if necessary the day of the reservation to ensure proper inflation, check tire depth, plus recently had an oil change and fluids checked at a **** dealership where they checked the tires and all were in excellent condition, so I knew it wasn't the tire. Unless the driver was speeding, driving recklessly, and or hit something in the road the tire wouldn't have blown. When the renter returned my ** the front grill was dangling down in the front and split in 2; so it appears he probably hit something in the road or something was thrown up at my ** from another driver, hit the front grill, then went under the ** causing the tire to blow. This caused about $5K in damage as it damaged the front grill, the tire next to the one that blew, the rear chassis has 4 tires, two on each side, destroyed one of the trunk boxes, damaged another, broke the trunk box light and side marker light wiring harness, bent my heat shield, bent the rear fender, plus he lost some of the items in the trunk box that was destroyed. Outdoorsy denied my claim because they said I used "stock" photos. I updated my interior photos after we had the dinette set and captains chairs reupholstered so I uploaded new photos several months ago. Now they won't even give me the deposit of $1500, so I'm out about $5K. I DO NOT recommend using Outdoors as an owner or renter. SHAME ON YOU OUTDOORSYOutdoorsy, Inc.

There should be a rating scale for negative stars. I would mark the top one. We rented an RV from **** # $mith thru this company. A complete and utter shit-show. We're out over $3,000.00 and still awaiting the agent's review. We had a 15-day vacation planned and returned *********** of an RV after 6 days. Anything from the air not working correctly to no hot water, leaking roofs, the smell of must and mold, stained seats, dirty bed linens, and that's just a start. If anyone is interested in joining us to pursue further this matter please contact me. We all work too hard and wait too long for some a once-in-a-lifetime vacation and I'll be dam if they keep our monies. Shame on you Outdoorsy and ****!! Picked ** in ************, **.Outdoorsy, Inc.

My fianc and I had a trip planned to *********** and had an issue with the van 2 days before we were supposed to drive out there. Were in *****, and very little is open on Sundays as well as that Monday was also Labor Day so we understand mechanics not being open is out or outdoorsys control, but we werent offered another van option, or offered compensation for a rental car and hotels we had to get in place. There should be some backup options in place, especially if that was the place you were supposed to have slept, and thats what we pay for in the fees and insurance. We had to spend hundreds of dollars that we never intended on with eating out, rental car, hotels, etc. We were told by multiple reps that it wasnt anyones problem that we had this issue because it wasnt a roadside assistance matter since the van never totally broke down- the van wouldnt go in reverse, had a leak into the main area, and had multiple other problems with the breaking systems that we discovered on the invoice from the mechanic. We were also told by the owner its our responsibility to to drive it *******************, and the difference of reinstating the insurance for the drive would be taken out of the difference of our refund. One rep gave us a website that is supposed to provide up to 60% off rentals, hotels, etc, but it was in fact more expensive than buying literally through any other outlet. Still are being told its not their problem. We are out of over ***** that we never intended on spending, and are only getting refunded for less than half the trip, despite only using it for 2 out of the 6 nights. Another rep said that he can put in a request to ask for a refund on the other fees and insurance for the days we didnt use the van, but they also dont want to offend the owner. This is absolutely frustrating and anyone who doesnt have money coming out their a** as a back up for this kind of issue should steer clear of outdoorsy!!Outdoorsy, Inc.

I have booked with the company a couple of times and had a really bad experience on the last reservation. We booked an ** for one week and purchased the top ties exterior and interior damage protection offered through their platform, all went fine during the trip and the ** was returned on time. The owner alleged some minor damages to the furniture and linen inside the ** and ended up deducting $1500 from my security deposit for minor fixtures and dry cleaning. After a lot of back and forth, the owner stopped responding and declined to give me receipts for the damage and repairs so I can file a claim through the insurance carrier for interior damage protection. Here's the catch, the insurance company wont process the claim without detailed receipts, photos and description of the damages all of which can only be provided by the owner. The onwer charged my CC and has been absconding since, he has no impetus to provide me the necessary documentation. I filed a dispute via Outdoorsy, they have been dragging out the case for over 2 months now stating the owner is on vacation. Their dispute is unable to understand what I am asking for and keep giving me generic responses like "we are working on it" I have 90 days to file my insurance claim, with this stupid system I am at risk of forfeiting my insurance claim and cannot get my money back because the owner is claiming damages. It's a twisted system, Outdoorsy just lost all my respect.Outdoorsy, Inc.

The worst service ever.The customer service forced me to tae advanced protection package and now they are holding my deposit saying that its on me to take my case with y insurance first.The package itself is 500 *** deductible and they are just storing the money.Dirtiest people i have ever worked with.Even the boo,ing was such a s***** processOutdoorsy, Inc.

We booked an ** on Outdoorsy for family trip from ** to OH. Four adults and two teenagers. We have rented **s numerous times but this was to be our biggest vehicle. For three months prior to trip, we tried to set up pre trip visit with owners who live in our same town. On Thursday before our trip was to begin on Sat, we were allowed to see the ******* was horrible. Damage to the outside. Broken items inside, wood rot on floor in front of sink, very run down and dirty. COMPLETELY different from pictures listed on Outdorsy site which showed ** in great condition. We were sickened when we left the visit and ultimately decided that there was no way we could spend a week in the *** So we reached out to Outdoorsy about the situation and they advised us not to cancel as that would keep up from getting a full refund and they would work with us on that. They graciously helped us rent another ** (more $ for Outdoorsy) that although was much farther away from home for us to pick up, was completely on the up and up. Looked just liked pictures. So we get back in contact with Outdoorsy about refund on initial ** we didnt take and despite our full explanation of situation AGAIN and their advice to not cancel (which would have gotten us half of our $1600 back), Outdoorsy only offered us $300 refund. They sided with the ** owner since we didnt have pictures to prove the inside and I guess they think that if its drivable, you have to take it. Drivable does not mean its acceptable to live in for a week! Very disappointed in Outdoorsy not requiring owner to send current pics or even taking into account prior review of ** that was on their website just weeks before our travel date. It was a red flag to us and pushed us even more to see the *** We will not use Outdoorsy ever again and caution others to be careful that you may not get what you think based on the website pics of the unit and Outdoorsy doesnt care. We are going to small claims court at this point.Outdoorsy, Inc.

This company is NOT safe. We were stranded for 2 days, due to lack of communication within outdoorsy and inadequate road side assistance. We are so very lucky we were not in the middle of nowhere, traveling with kids or in a unsafe area but that could have been the case! When asking for a refund on our trip, the company tried to blame owners for their lack of roadside assistance, though it something promised with them. We are out thousands of dollars for the van rental, not to mention lost wages for work/added lodging and food.Outdoorsy, Inc.
