My husband and I are hosts on the platform. Outdoorsy has consistently told us our van is covered up to "the total value" of the van. One of our renters drove under too low of clearance and damaged the roof top tent. Outdoorsy came back to ** and said anything added to the van after manufacturing is considered an "add-on". They compared this permanent fixture to a removable bike rack. Their policy says something similar to a bike rack should be removed prior to renting, this tent can't be removed. Based on their updated policy (end of March 2023), this means anything on your roof isn't covered permanent or not. This means if you have a rooftop tent, solar panels, awning and it is damaged during renting, it will not be covered.Outdoorsy, Inc.

My friends and I made a reservation for an RV to meet up in ** to go to a concert. Sadly, a week before our trip, the renter cancelled without any explanation.Outdoorsy sent an email to me with 3 other options as alternatives for our trip.I requested another RV, but after waiting to hear back from that renter, they decided their RV would not be available for the dates we requested. I was on the phone with a representative at the time, so then we requested yet another option and waiting to hear back from a 3rd renter. Now I am frantic because time is a factor, and we really needed this ***** was a Sunday, and already I had been on the phone 4 times with Shy, the concierge for outdoorsy. She was beyond helpful, and relentless to get us an RV and would not stop until we were completely satisfied. We ended up getting an even better RV than we anticipated, and the above and beyond customer service from Shy was well worth it.I have never had a better customer service experience, and I will highly recommend Outdoorsy to friends and share this story as wellOutdoorsy, Inc.

We have been renting our **'s on Outdoorsy for 2 years now and have had nothing but rave reviews from our renters. Our last renters took it for 2 weeks and when they brought it back there was extensive interior damage. The renters yelled, screaming and swearing at us that we gave them the ** damaged like that which there was no way because it was so bad that it couldn't even be used. Plus, we had all of our departure pictures. When we tried to make a claim with Outdoorsy, we were told that the renters opted out of interior insurance which we never knew was even an option. If we knew that then we never would rent our **'s without making sure that the renters took insurance. A few days later, the renters put in a claim against us with Outdoorsy wanting their money back for the trip stating that we gave them a dilapidated **. Outdoorsy made us jump through hoops to provide proof that we didn't give them a dilapidated **. We had text messages and pictures from the renters on their trip saying how awesome it was and how much fun they are having. Outdoorsy caused us so much mental distress for almost 2 months of constantly asking us for more proof and more pictures but never once addressed the damage to our ** not to mention the lost income as our ** was booked for more rentals but the renters damaged it so badly that it couldn't go out until it was fixed. Finally Outdoorsy ruled in our favor. The renters refused to pay and so Outdoorsy sent us to "mandatory" arbitration through Fair Claims. Apparently in ******, which is where we are from, it states that you can opt out of arbitration. The renters found this clause and opted out. So we went to 2 trials only to be dismissed. This is now 6 months of mental anguish and Outdoorsy basically tells us that the insurance is not for the owners it's to protect their guests. Without the owners then Outdoorsy wouldn't exist. They are horrible to deal with and they will not back you up.Outdoorsy, Inc.

Expensive and unreliable. Don't book here if your plans aren't flexible. They charge a fee for EVERY LITTLE THING so you can expect the nightly price they show to be about double or more. If you're going to rent there read each listing very carefully, some of the owner's rules are completely ridiculous. I get that they RVs belong to them but outdoorsy needs to at least make it easier to filter those out or maybe have a set of rules they can choose from.Despite this, we booked a rental for a trip in a few months. A month + after the booking being accepted and being in contact with the host in advance, they canceled out of nowhere with the only contact being a refund and autogenerated email. They haven't responded to our inquiry about what was up. When we checked, the dates we had were in a large block of dates no longer available. Outdoorsy' customer support response was basically, "They can do what they want it's there RV". The best part though, is they will charge the owners a fee for cancelling, so Outdoorsy is still making money regardless. They do not offer any kind of guarantee or compensation to renters until it's within 7 days of the start date of the booking and then they'll "try to find you a replacement RV". Now we're left to scramble when there is very little availability or cancel our trip.Outdoorsy, Inc.

1 starI would be very careful renting from this company. They lie and take advantage of people. We rented an RV for the weekend and took out insurance. Upon the return they said everything was fine, even got an email saying our $1500 security deposit was being returned. Next thing we know they told us we broke the automatic awning. It was rolled up backwards. How do you do that when you push a button to roll it out and in?? What a coincidence the deductible on the insurance we took out was $1500!! Oh, and we were told this is the 4th time this has happened. They wanted us to run this through our personal auto insurance. H*** no!!! We disputed the charge with our bank and they lied so it got put back on our credit card. Guess what, we can dispute it again. The bank wants all the documentation, which we have. If we broke it then absolutely, we should pay for it, but we didnt!! Seriously, dont rent from them. I dont know how theyre still in business.Review fromTiffany K

1 starOutdoorsy is disgusting. Long story short: the owner of the camper ended my reservation early. They kept all my money and Outdoorsy charged me more for the mileage to pick up the camper. I am out over $3000 and only had the camper for 2 nights.I filed a small claim lawsuit against Outdoorsy and won. I have gone through all the legal steps to collect the $3200 that the court awarded me, but Outdoorsy just ignores it. Since they are a corporation, I cannot garnish any "wages," even though I filed a Writ of Garnishment with the county court. The next step within the court system is to file a lien on Outdoorsy's property if they even own property. Basically: I will never see that money again. How do they sleep at night knowing the court awarded me money that they just ignore and refuse to pay? They are a HORRIBLE company and DO NOT deserve their A+ rating from the BBB. Shame on you, BBB, for not allowing me to file a complaint, which would help to downgrade them.Outdoorsy is NOT a good company. I recommend NOBODY do business with them.Review fromBarbara D

1 starWe rented an RV with the Outdoorsy company with the intention of taking turns driving since I cant drive long distances due to my herniated disk issues in my back. I was able to become a verified driver but my husband couldn't be verified as an insured driver and the Outdoorsy company would not disclose why despite repeated attempts requesting that information. We tried to find another driver, my mother, who was supposed to also go on the trip but she got COVID and couldnt drive with us. Despite these reasons, the company wouldnt refund our trip given that it was their decision not to insure us and wouldnt provide the reasons why. Through no fault of our own, we were penalized a of $2,528.33 despite not getting a clear answer as to why from the company. Also, I purchased insurance, but these reasons fall outside of the covered items on the insurance policy.Review fromKristen d
