Ad Review

BBB promotes truth in advertising by contacting advertisers whose claims conflict with the BBB Code of Advertising.  These claims may come to our attention from our internal review of advertising, consumer complaints, and competitor challenges.  BBB asks advertisers to prove their claims, change ads to make offers more clear to consumers, and remove misleading or deceptive statements.

On May 15, 2025, BBB contacted WAYDS Mobile IV Therapy Austin regarding advertised claims on their website https://www.wayds.org.

WAYDS Mobile IV Therapy Austin advertises benefits including:

“Supports Immune Function: May support the immune system with essential vitamins and minerals.”

“Enhanced Recovery: May assist with general recovery after travel, physical exertion, or periods of fatigue.”

“Immune Recharge Best for Flu, Covid, Cold, Immune disorders and more”

 “Chronic Fatigue Syndrome”, “Immune Support”, “Stress” and “Migraine Relief”.

Additionally, on their page https://www.wayds.org/services-9, they advertise specialized IVs with claims such as “Immune recharge”, “immune support”, and  “Migraine Remedy.”

Their page https://www.wayds.org/category/all-products promotes products with various claimed benefits including “Cognitive Blend” and “Recovery Blend.”

BBB Code of Advertising states claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy, or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data, and that upon request, advertisers have a responsibility to have substantiation for all claims made.

BBB requested that WAYDS Mobile IV Therapy Austin provide objective, competent, and reliable scientific evidence to support their advertised claims about the specific products used.

WAYDS also advertises testimonials claiming positive results from their IV therapy infusions.

The BBB Code of Advertising states in general, advertising that uses testimonials or endorsements is likely to mislead or confuse if it is not genuine and does not actually represent the current opinion of the endorser. If a consumer’s experience represented in an advertisement is not the typical experience of those using the product or service, unless the advertisement clearly and conspicuously discloses what the expected results will be.  

The Federal Trade Commission emphasizes that "An advertisement employing endorsements by one or more consumers about the performance of an advertised product or service will be interpreted as representing that the product or service is effective for the purpose depicted in the advertisement. Therefore, the advertiser must possess and rely upon adequate substantiation, including, when appropriate, competent and reliable scientific evidence, to support express and implied claims made through endorsements, in the same manner, the advertiser would be required to do if it had made the representation directly, i.e., without using endorsements."

BBB requested WAYDS Mobile IV Therapy Austin to disclose and substantiate the typical results from customer testimonials with scientific evidence or discontinue those claims if they could not be supported.

On May 23, 2025, WAYDS Mobile IV Therapy Austin responded to BBB that BBB’s review process did not “align with the structure or operational realities of a licensed, physician- directed medical service” and “are subject to HIPAA, state medical board regulations, and federal guidelines that place specific limits on the public disclosure of clinical data, provider-patient relationships, and treatment claims — even in advertising.”

The stated “We believe we have appropriately and transparently implemented disclaimers, licensure verification, and oversight disclosures throughout our website, including on each individual service page and across the footer site-wide. However, the requests made during this process, while well-intended, exceed what we are permitted to disclose or substantiate in our clinical setting.”

They added, “If the BBB’s standards or review methodology evolve to account more clearly for the legal and regulatory framework of licensed medical providers — particularly those practicing under physician delegation — we would welcome future discussion.”

As of June 27, 2025, WAYDS Mobile IV Therapy Austin failed to provide BBB with substantiation regarding their advertised claims.
