This is a scam. I even voiced my concern that their language was duplicitous and I was told it was legit by their sales person. They get away with this because when you go online for general health insurance quotes they call you as though they are an insurance broker. They are more than happy to take $423. to secure this ******** membership. I'm contacting the ** as well as my credit card company to mark this as fraud if they refuse to return my money and cancel this organization that preys on folks who are desperate for affordable health care.Altrua HealthShare

In 2014 Altrua Ministries, dba Altrua HealthShare received its recognition as a **************************** recognized by the Centers for ******************* Services (CMS). As a result, the members of Altrua HealthShare have the security of being members of a recognized ****************************. Altrua HealthShare is a **************************** that is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that facilitates the sharing of eligible medical needs between members. Our membership opportunities are developed and based on Biblical principles established for living a healthy and honorable lifestyle and members must believe in and follow our Statement of Standards to join any Altrua HealthShare membership.Altrua HealthShare does not have any direct relationships with insurance agents. However, licensed agents often offer non-insurance solutions to their clients, so it is possible that an agent offered you a Altrua HealthShare Membership. Furthermore, your monthly Altrua HealthShare membership contribution is only $125. As such, it appears that you purchased some products that are unrelated to Altrua HealthShare. We do understand that a health care sharing ministry membership is not the right choice for everyones needs. Your membership will be cancelled prior to your effective date of February 1, as requested, and your contribution will be fully refunded. 2 starsThe Altrua part worked nicely at an urgent care. But a dermatologist appt in late august has yet to generate my ****** reimbursement though they claim its top priority (4.5 months later). The scam is their Premier Health sales agency that adds a $150.00 a month add on. They misrepresent themselves as part of Altrua when they are a bundled add on for silly things like moving services. They are scam artist and their sales team is fraudulent. I am out nearly 2 k and yea even Altrua admitted you dont need to go through them. Pretty sure this is additional money Altrua makes and yes I filed a complaint with the state Attorney general.Review fromAnita M

Was lead to believe that it was insurance. It is NOT. When they expect their "members" to pay up front for doctor visits/services, then wait for re-imbursement, that is NOT insurance. Was told that I could have gotten a full refund if I had cancelled within 10 days of the effective date. However, I never got the paperwork packet. They totally misrepresented our ability to reach our sales person or cancel our policy. They totally misrepresented our ability to utilize this policy at the Clinic that we discussed with the sales person. They failed to respond within the time frames they indicated. The customer service representatives were the nastiest people we have ever had to deal with. My wife was literally in tears after conversations with two customer representatives. And their promises of return calls have not happened. This is a scam and I warn others not to go down the road we have just traveled. This company is awful. I signed up with them but changes my mind a few hours later and called to cancel my membership. Not only would they not cancel my membership but were extremely rude. They basically were trying to bully me. I hung up and immediately called my credit card company to stop payment. I have never dealt with a company that would not allow me to cancel my membership nor have I dealt with such rude people. Do not sign on with this company!!!Altrua HealthShare

DO NOT get into a membership with this company. They are not legit. I have never heard of so many people so argumentative and aggressive when youre trying to cancel a membership with them. *****, the manager, and ****** (some random rep) both need to practice active listening skills. Being in customer service.. youd think thatd be a requirement to have, but not with this company. Their solution to shutting you up is putting you on hold. This company is fraudulent and they only hire scammers. Make sure if you give them any money to get it back with your bank, because you wont get it back with them. Also make sure you keep documents of everything with them; every person you spoke with and what time. They bully people into their health membership and bully them and talk over them when they try to NICELY get out of it. DO NOT TRUST ANYONE YOU TALK TO HERE. My son is a member and his phone was on speakerphone so I could hear everything your representative said. That it was insurance, that everything would be covered, etc. The doctors office has said NOTHING is covered and to stay away. I am the one paying the premiums so $308 for nothing doesnt work. **************** We regret the circumstances surrounding your experience. Altrua HealthShare is indeed a 501(c)(3) non-profit health care sharing ministry. Upon reviewing your file, it appears that you called regarding your membership card, but a ****** Services Representative walked you through the process of accessing your digital card. You also called to express your displeasure about the contribution increase. You were directed back to the Independent ****** Representative (***) who originally offered you the membership. The *** apparently did not return your calls. We apologize for this and want you to know that this *** and is no longer allowed to offer Altrua memberships. You cancelled your membership effective 8/31/22 and then curiously called back a week later to reinstate your membership. We do understand that a health care sharing ministry membership is not the right choice for everyones needs, but it is our sincerest hope that you find the appropriate fit for you and your medical needs. I talked with a sales representative for a one month gap insurance for myself. In filling out the forms I was questioning the forms about ethical questions and beliefs I was to agree to. I was told that does not pertain to the medical plan. I was told The medical plan was by united health care and has the largest network of doctors in the country. I was never told it was a plan share. No info online about the breakdown of the plan until after I signed. I tried the phone number on the website to call back and it was a number not in service. Later upon reaching someone on a different line they referred me twice to the same nonworking number. Luckily They did refund my money that same day. Old advice: if you feel uneasy about something or question it, dont sign it. The agent totally misrepresented the coverage. He told me he had the perfect plan for my needs. They do not give you the whole plan ahead of signing, My husband was on speaker phone and heard the whole sales pitch too.Altrua HealthShare
