They give high risk home loans circa 2008. Patrons beware, and never ****.

I would like to compliment the Bank Tellers at *******************, *************, ** *****. I am a special needs teacher and on 11/16/2022 at around 10 am, my 10 *********** students and I went to the Santander bank to exchange dollar coins, bills, and wrapped coins into large bills. It was a ****** in money skills. The 3 bank tellers were amazingly patient, kind and listened to my students request with utmost respect.
They made the banking experience for my students a positive one. I cannot thank the 3 ladies enough. I do not write reviews, but I felt I had to give a shout out to these wonderful ladies. Once again Thank You for an exceptional service to the community!

I got my title in my name and a letter saying thank you for doing business with Santander Consumer USA **** Please find the enclosed lien release document required in order to transfer ownership due to lien satisfaction for the 2012 **** Tru. Santander Consumer USA keeps calling and do talk to them but they always put me on hold and then it hangs up. Now they are going after my credit score.

RUN!!! Even if you can't get a car do NOT do business with this company!! They won't work with you even during a global pandemic. They won't refinance your car to make sure you can afford your payment & keep your car. They literally care NOTHING about their customers. Unsurprising since they're a corporation who only cares about money. But consumers deserve a company that will work with them. Top off bad treatment with them not sending my key back after I paid off the *********** literally one of the worst loan companies I have ever dealt with & I'm over 50. I called to price a new key - it would be $200. So I called once again to give them the opportunity to give me my key. They were rude as could be & basically said that it's my problem, not theirs. They stole my property & then said it's not their problem. That I can call & try to get it back. I already called. TWICE!! Send me my key!!! That key is my *************** YOUR responsibility to track it down & send it back to me. Or replace it. I now know why they aren't accredited by the BBB & will never get a loan by a company who isn't accredited. I will also never do business with Santander even if it means I never buy another car. If they are the lender I'll walk away. Period.

** 2020, my car was totaled by a storm. I had full coverage car insurance and also ************** After both insurances paid Santander Consumer the benefits of the coverages, my account was not settled due the inaccuracies of Santander Consumer. First issue was when I spoke with several persons who stated that the interest of the entire six years loan was added in the beginning of the loan. So even though the loan was paid off five years earlier than expected, I was still charged as though it was six years. Which did not make sense, because that was not stated when I spoke to the car dealership about paying off my car early. The dealership stated that if I paid off my car early, I would not have to pay much in interest compared to the full term of the loan. And of course, my credit was negative impacted. Eventually Santander Consumer provided an Explanation of Calculation of Surplus or Deficiency letter which states an unpaid balance of ($14,860.81) as of 5/04/2021 which does not correspond to the itemized payment history which was also provided by Santander regarding both the date and balance. Santander Consumer recorded in the Explanation of Calculation of Surplus or Deficiency letter that the amount of Settlement Check was ($14,110.98), however according to the records of both car insurance "Nationwide" and GAP *************************** there were two checks that were given to Santander Consumer. Nationwide check payout was in the amount of ($14,075) and GAP Insurance check was in the amount of ($4,264.74). Both settlement checks total ($18,339.74) which is determined that this account should not have an unpaid balance and that Santander Consumer provided inaccurate information. These inaccuracies are causing my credit score to be low and continue to negatively affect my chances of getting loans and credit. In beginning of this loan, I was very excited to build my credit, however, now regret using Santander Consumer and never recommend this company.

In February, I began the process of transferring my vehicle from ********** to ****** as I relocated. I have had to spend an additional $136 for trip permits I am reasonably sure that I will also have to pay more money in fees because my ********** registration is seriously delinquent. I have spent more than 7 hours on the phone with someone from your company. I have spent over 3 hours on the phone with the CA ***. I have spent 2+ hours on the phone with OR ***. I have made 4 trips to the **********. All of which have required me to take time off work. All because almost 3 years ago when Santander bought my loan from Gateway One Financial they did not submit a Request to transfer lienholder to CA ***. Opportunity #1: In February of 2020 (almost 3 years ago) Santander should have filed a Request to Transfer Lienholder with the CA *** and the title that was sent in February of this year would have made its way to Santander instead of the original Lienholder. Opportunity #2: When my paperwork and money was received in August, someone from Santander's processing department should have reviewed my file, noticed that the title was requested in February and contacted the *** to find out why it was not yet received. Instead, my paperwork just sat on someone's desk and was not reviewed until I, the customer called multiple times. Had the processor that got my packet reached out to the ***, found out the title was sent to the lienholder of record, they could have requested the duplicate title back in August and my transfer would have been complete by now. My trip permit expires on 11/23 and Santander is telling me they have a date of 12/23 to get the duplicate title from CA ***. So I will not be able to use my car for at least 30 days (and they expect me to still pay my car payment which is hard to do if I can't get to work.)

I was in a 4yrs auto finance agreement. I moved on September2022, and in the next month of October I paid off the vehicle after 1 yr of payments. When I moved first I updated my new address on the website where I used to make my payments, then once I paid off the vehicle, I was informed that the title would be released on October 19th and they would contact me to confirm the delivery details. Well no call ever came, so I called Santander on the 20th to make sure the title would go to my new address and the lady told me :that is the address we have on file". They also informed me the title release request would go to D.P.S to send my car Title. Well I got a call from my old roommate at the old address and he gets my mail for me when he can, and he informed me that my title just arrived in the mail. The reason I moved, my landlord was a longtime friend of mine who had been Sober for 22 yrs and he is 78 yrs old recently diagnosed with Dementia, and he started not only drinking again but using drugs. This is why I made soo many calls to Santander to make sure they had the right address, because if my old landlord had checked the mail first on Saturday, he surely would have burned up that title! Then I would probably have had to pay for another title and spend more time and money, for this reason I am very very disappointed after the reps at Santander who kept congratulating me on paying off my car early, only to send my title to the wrong address! Very unhappy!

Had problems paying the payment deferred 8 months during the pandemic gave me 24 hrs to decide if I wanted it tacked on the end of my loan never really explained what that meant. When I took off the lot it was ****** with all the extra stuff it was ****** this was 2019 so I paid for 2021-2022 and 4 months in 2020 (after 11 months of no payments in 2019) I now own 24,000$ and Santander does not refinance they have horrible customer service and I have to change my password everytime I pay because the website says it's wrong, my bet is there are security issues and problems protecting people information.
