Tried to purchase four $40 tickets (for a total of $160). The site (ticketsales.com) forced me to accept the terms and conditions without seeing the total amount. They charged me almost $600 for fees, and then refused to cancel my order. *************** says because I clicked the terms and conditions saying the order was final, they could not dispute the charge. But the site did not show me the total until I paid for it. It is a total scam. These tickets were $40 each!Business Response

I have reviewed the business response and accept this resolution. It would never have happened without the better business bureau's intervention for which I am extremely grateful. Ticket sales is a scam robbing customers of their money and only returning money with intervention from the BBB
More regulations need to to be introduced to stop dishonest businesses like ticketsales.com from stealing customers money.

Bought the tickets for a friend and myself, and we decided it would work better to go to the festival a different day, I expected to be able to return the tickets like any other website, and found out they are also charging almost 4 times as much as the tickets are actually priced from the event! I tried to return them less than 30 mins after I bought them but they wont do refunds, which is terrible, especially after charging way more than the actual venders list them at. I also found out from the events site that they do not allow ticket resale and tickets are date specific, so they are not even usable when we go another day!Business Response

Once our customer selected the event they were interested in, Georgia Renaissance Festival, they navigated to the ticket listing page. The top of this page clearly notifies customers, We are a leading resale marketplace. Tickets may be above or below face value. We are not affiliated with any venue. This message is also displayed on the top of every page throughout the checkout process. After customers select the ticket listing and ticket quantity, they desired they are directed to the checkout page. Here customers are provided with an order summary on the right-hand side that displays the event details, ticket location, and listing information. Our customer was prompted to provide an email address and select a delivery method. After a delivery method was selected, since methods vary in price, a new order total was calculated. A complete itemized breakdown of our customers order including the price per ticket, all fees, and the total price of $190.28 was displayed in bold text on the right-hand side of the page. This information is fully disclosed before our customers are asked to enter any payment information. This means that we are unable to offer refunds and must adhere to an all sales are final policya standard throughout the industry. I did a ****** search for a local concert venue (City Winery in ********) for an upcoming concert and ended up on ticketsales.com website. I purchased 4 tickets and found out the cost I was charged was 4x the correct price because our friends also purchased tix from the actual venue. I immediately called and tried to stop the purchase but the ticket sales folks refused to cancel or let me speak to a manager. The concert is not until August but they refuse to take any action to prevent this predatory process from continuing. I want a refund of the $1022.07 from ticket *********. The actual price is $75 per ticket, so even with fees the actual total cost would be around $350. The email they sent does not even include seat numbers or any identifying information to confirm there are even tickets with the order. I need immediate action while there are still many tix available at the correct price.Business Response

I went to the ***** website to buy tickets to a show. I did not realize I was buying from a secondary market. I entered the number of tickets that I wanted 5 and the total was ******. Then I was prompted to pay now. There were NO itemized charged or I would have seen that each ticket was $654. There were no details given until the purchase was made. I almost fainted when I saw a total of $3513.54.There were no breakdowns nor stipulations until I pressed pay now. This is deceptive and predatory. I went back to the site which I thought was ***** and saw a microscopic ea after the ticket amount. Again, deceptive and predatory especially for older people. When I immediately called their contact number they refused to help me and suggested I sell them on a secondary market. I am 73 years old, but I am not stupid. I was scammed. They refused to reverse the charges claiming it was stated-which it wasnt..These people prey on people are not transparent and they trick unsuspecting victims. Even if I could afford 654 for a ticket, that comes to ***** dollars..They should not be allowed to hide the invoice until payment has been made. It is sneaky and predatory especially.Business Response

As you stated I do not agree with their defense, but I do appreciate their trying to resolve this amicably. They have provided proof that tickets were not accepted and were cancelled and returned to Ticketmaster. I am guessing this was the primary source of the tickets.
I also received an email that I would be given a courtesy full refund when tickets were returned which the first document shows.Had I seen an itemized breakdown of ticket charges I would never have pressed pay now. It was only after I pressed this did I see the total amount.

On April 28 at 8:25 p.m. I purchased 2 concert tickets for *****************: ******* ****** for an August 10 2025 concert. I thought I was on the official ********* site. The tickets were $92 each for a total of $184. The service charge was not disclosed until after I purchased the tickets. Including the service charge, the total was $389.98. I immediately called them and they said they were not required to disclose the service charge before purchase and "too bad".If I had seen the service charge I never would have completed the transaction. I am asking them to refund the purchase. These are highly desireable tickets that just went on sale today; they will have no problem reselling them.Customer Answer

On 3.21.2025 I ordered 4 General Admission tickets (4 x $98 = $392) to the Crooner and The Cowboy - **** ******* and ******* ******** concert scheduled for 8.31.2025 in ************************** ME. I didn't realize I had been routed to a third party vendor ticketsales.com Once I got my receipt I was charged $696.86 !! That is $304.86 in additional charges !! This is unacceptable. I called ticketsales.com on 4.26.2025 and was advised it was a final purchase and told I am not entitled to a refund. I asked for a breakdown of the $696.86 and I was told that they could not provide that information because it only existed in their system.I did some research and found that the tickets were actually available elsewhere for $86ea and fees were only $17.60ea. Based on this research my total price should have been approximately $462.40. I want my money back!Business Response

I purchased two tickets on 4/28. On the purchase webpage, the information shown was $89, with the quantity stated as "2". This is clearly confusing and can lead the customer to believe that both tickets are for a total of $89. When I clicked on the webpage for the next step, it took me to the payment page. The payment form takes most of the screen, and the pricing information is in very small font on the right corner. I didn't even notice it when I first paid (I only went through the process again to see what it looks like and noticed this. The full price is not stated either, it just shows, in very small letters, $89x2, with no service fee shown). It is only after I paid that I realized I spent $247.16! So not only is the price for two tickets advertised in a confusing way, but I also paid a service fee of $69.16, that was not stated anywhere when I was paying! I contacted their customer service seconds later, right after I realized this, and they won't budge. 2 tickets on the primary website are $130 in total (which I unfortunately discovered later). See screenshots below as example of what it looks like when going through payment.Customer Answer

This company falsely impersonated the venue for an event that I wanted to purchase tickets for my wife for. I tried to cancel the order within 30 minutes of placing it and customer service representatives refused to cancel the order. They charged me $479for an event that actually costs $116 and still has available tickets at face value. They directed me to their website when I searched for the venue website to purchase tickets from. This is absolutely fraud. I asked repeatedly for a cancellation and a refund. I still want a cancellation and a refund, the tickets have not even been delivered to me. They also refused to give me an address so that I could file the complaint and just said Texas.Customer Answer

The company emailed this morning with a link that they say is the link to the tickets. I have not clicked the link and will not click it. This does not resolve the complaint that they impersonated the venue and fraudulently took and excessive amount of money from our account.Business Response
