I paid for a U-Haul and traveled 2 hours to ****** to rent a room from this lady that charged me ******************************************************************* for the next 3 months rent to help me out but then turned around the day I got here and said I had too much stuff and could no longer come and also refused to refund me my deposit and did not give me a receipt for the cash I gave her. And has my information and I believe is getting a ***** under my name and not giving it to me using the pretense of her business as a cover.

      Business Response

      Date: 10/15/2024

We extended an invitation for  Ms. ******* to receive housing services in our emergency transitional  shared housing program that provided a furnished room and bathroom.  No money was exchanged, and no documents were signed.  Before she moved in nor after she arrived.    We explained to Ms. ******* that she would be living in a furnished room so the space would be limited.  She informed us that she would only be bringing a cubby, one dresser, her childrens clothes, her clothes and personal hygiene items.  When she arrived on Oct. 4th, she had items that needed a 6 X12 U-Haul trailer. When she arrived, no one was there to meet her because she arrived before the scheduled time.  She emptied the trailer and returned it before we arrived.  She informed me that she had taken all the items from her storage unit plus the items she had previously mentioned.  She was informed that there was no room for the items she brought.  She became upset and confrontational.   We offered to pay for the moving van and gas not because we owed her any reimbursement for either, we were just trying to help her.  She was not honest about the items she was bringing.  Ms. ******* became belligerent, and threatening.  We decided to not pay for the trailer but agreed to pay the driver $100 in gas. He was sent $100 via Zelle payment.
Regarding the ***** she speaks of- no ***** was submitted in her name.  We offered to enroll her in a program that would assist with 3 months payment.  The only way that process could proceed is that she completes the paperwork and signs the document.  We have no record of the information to complete the documents, information such as social security, date of birth- because no paperwork was completed before she moved in.
Ms. ******* is blatantly making false statements regarding giving us money and not providing a receipt.  We believe she is upset because of our decision to not allow her to participate in our program.  We made this decision based on her misrepresentation of what she would be bringing and her behavior that was aggressive and threatening.  All of which is behavior that would not be conducive to the environment and safety of the families in our program.
We do not owe her any money- she met us to see the room and no money was exchanged.  At that time, the only document she received was emailed to her to have completed when she moved in.  (We did not receive that document because she did not move in).  The next meeting was when she arrived with more items than she mentioned and  we informed her that she would not be able to participate in our program because she misinformed us of the items she would be bringing and because of her aggressive/threatening behavior. No money exchanged.
