Came to this company for help, which I shouldve even found bankruptcy because I was a victim of a fraud, but they were upholding the creditor just not very honest, misrepresented me, and not fair dealing

In August 2022, ************** retained Allmand Law Firm to file a Chapter 13 Petition. His home was scheduled for foreclosure in September 2022. The Firm filed Ch 13 petition and plan, initiating the automatic stay protecting ******'s property; and preventing immediate foreclosure of the property.

Debtors Ch 13 plan has been confirmed; Debtor has defaulted under the terms of the confirmed plan.

Debtor continues to dispute the claim of one secured creditor. The claim is subject to disputed facts, and pending litigation before the Bankruptcy Court. ****** refuses to cooperate with counsel in prosecution of his case. However,  he has expressed dissatisfaction with prior Orders of the Bankruptcy Court.

Was thinking about filing chapter 7 back in April I did talk to someone and gave them all my information they said it'll cost 150 monthly. At the time I thought I'd be able to afford but I wasn't. I've tried contacting them multiple times to cancel but no one answered nor called me back. Three months later I hear from them but that's after I told them I was filing to get my money back. I just need my money returned so I can get a place to live.i have nothing from them to send you cause they never sent any ***********.

My wife and I filed for bankruptcy. We paid ****. dollars on 8/3/23. All the attorney has done was keep asking for more paperwork that has already been submitted. I faxed some and my wife sent the same ones through the portal. But they still keep asking for the same paperwork over and over.

We've spoken with our client and believe we have reached a resolution that is acceptable. The document collection process that is required for a consumer bankruptcy case can be daunting, but we try to make this process as easy as possible and accept documents through email, fax, client portal upload and drop off in our offices. In addition, we also offer an automated solution that allows for the direct retrieval of bank records and pay stubs to further simplify the process. We understand this client feels they were requested to send in the same document multiple times and we regret they have this impression after consistent communication. We will continue to serve this client to the best of our abilities.

Back on 11/25/2023 I started my process with Allmand, I was given the option to make payments since I couldnt pay the $2,800 in full. It all seem to be working accordingly but in December of 2021, I had to move to **** and I sent an email to Allmand to notify them, after couple of months, they told me that even in **** they could still work with me. It seemed a bit odd to me but I trusted the firm, I was still doing my payments but not as frequent since I was struggling with my my job and finally I stop making payments to them. I reached out to them last week and spoke with some guy called ********* who told me that they had file a bankruptcy for me and it was denied, he also told me that because my case was over two years, no refund was available. I explained to this person that I had not signed any paperwork for them to file a bankruptcy case for me; therefore, they should have not file it. I also explained that I did not pay the full amount owed and they should have not moved my case. I did mention to him that to my knowledge Allmand had not provided any services and they should refund my money. Reading previous reviews here, I learned that this company has multiple complaints about refunds for their services

We're working with our client to come to an acceptable resolution. We have had a matter open with this client since 2020. Their Bankruptcy case was never filed, though we've engaged in extensive follow-up over the last several years to keep it on track. We are confident we can come to a resolution that adheres to the retainer agreement this client signed.

My wife and I paid **** dollars to Allmand law for a bankruptcy, we proceeded to turn in all the paper work we had, to the ****** office and they said we Could pick them up or they could send them through the mail, we opted for mail, I received an email saying they were shipping the paper work and we never received it, we then proceeded to ask for the paper work and everyone said, we don't know where it's at and it ended there. We then started one of a our appointments over a zoom call and found out none of our paperwork was in the system and we would have to start over again, so we put the paper work back into the system and still not all of it was available, instead of helping us over the phone we kept getting cut off at the 15 minute ***** do to the fact the lady we had was pregnant, not one time where we on the phone to complete the paper work longer than 15 to 20 minutes, a couple of times we had to reschedule do to work but they had to reschedule more than us due to the person they had helping us. We finally told them we wanted a refund do to the fact they where very unorganized and not professional with us or our paper work, they then proceeded to say OK and want to charge us for services not rendered, we gave them **** dollars and they want to refund us 275, they absolutely did nothing and we jumped through hurtles with no reward. This shouldn't be allowed. I wish I had read other BBB complaints before going through them. I can document almost every interaction via text and email that was sent back and forth. I'm hoping they record all of their calls because if researched, you will see our many attempts to get this resolved to no avail.

We have engaged in multiple conversations with the client concerning the issues outlined in the complaint, all aimed at achieving a fair and just resolution. Our retainer agreement explicitly outlines the range of services and costs for which the client engaged our services, and it also details our policies on refunds and procedures.

It has come to our understanding that the client desires further actions with regard to the measures that were implemented both before and after the filing of this complaint. However, we firmly believe that our efforts in this matter have exceeded what might be considered standard or reasonable. We remain dedicated to this client during the case closeout process.

I hired this firm to represent me in bankruptcy. I paid them $3000. They did not file the bankruptcy for me, and when I wanted my money refunded they only returned $720.

I began a bankruptcy with the company and I was making bi-weekly payments for the bankruptcy. Then my circumstances changed and I notified the firm that I will need to cancel the bankruptcy and I will move forward with paying off my debts. I was informed that I needed to speak with the representative before canceling. A week later I spoke with the rep and I was advise that I would receive and email that I needed to confirm the cancellation and a refund that would take about 3 days. I waited and sent email after email requesting this information. A month later I received the email after leaving multiple messages. Once I confirmed that I was canceling the bankruptcy I received an email stating it was cancelled and to take care and to contact them if I changed my mine. NO REFUND!!!! Now another month has passed. Today 8/7 I call them and I get a message that calls are restricted and my call can't go through. This must be a normal practice for the firm because I saw another complaint that states almost the same. I sent all of my information and there really wasn't any work done because my case was to take place August of 2023. I can understand a fee for maybe the consult but this seems like fraud when in comes to refunding the customer. I tried multiple numbers and it seems anyone that is tied to me has been blocked. I wouldn't recommend anyone to do business with these people AT ALL.

On February 21st, I retained Allmand Law for chapter 13. I was charged ***** for retainer. I was in a payment plan that was completed on April 20th. I completed paperwork, but at each meeting (phone call) I was asked for repeat papers. All they ever did was say I need last month bank statement, last week check stubs etc. I got a signing date, but it was canceled three days prior. I was asked to complete budget and assest on three different occasions. I completed two, but third time I had enough. They don't value your time. Don't try calling because you can NEVER get anyone other than the guy that answers the phone and act as if he understands NOTHING. When you first talk to them they act if they're helping you, Wrong. They told me to stop making payments to creditors and now I'm in worse shape. Are they a legit firm? It seems as if they're just SCAMMING people. During the process I updated my bank information and forgot to give it to them and payment didn't process. They are QUICK to call for that reason. I decided I wasn't going to use them because my case wasn't going ANYWHERE but repeat paperwork. I asked that they be removed from my case. Now they're refusing me ANY REFUND. They sent a itemized statement that is FULL of lies. Never did I cancel an appointment, NEVER did I call five times that I was able to speak with an attorney or paralegal about a question. I recall calling and confirming appointment time with receptionist. They didn't have my case close to filing and I'm being charged *****. The **************** ************************** AND ANY AGENCY that regulates THIS company needs to be contacted before ANYONE else does business with these people. Please don't forget THE **** These people has to be STOPPED. They're taking money from people that are trying to better themselves and making their situation worse.

I was referred while trying to find some debt relief. The initial call was great, she really understood my situation. I was sold on a chapter 7 bankruptcy, but was told of the urgency to get it paid & filed before I made too much money. I paid **** to start retainer and agreed to pay the balance of ******* on my next payday. After my call, they gave me a list of things that I needed to do, I did them within 3 or 4 days. After taking time to assess what was happening, I tried to call and stop procedure. Each call would give me a "Welcome to ******** message. So I sent emails, still no response. Now I am searching reviews online...this seems like the standard for this firm. I sent an email with intent to cancel procedure. I wanted to stop payment for the services. The retainer said 5 days prior, but conveniently...the calls wouldn't go through. I've sent another email demanding a call back, still nothing.I've already called bank and started the proceedings to charge back the payment. I understand that they may have a VERY little time invested, and i have no problem compensating them for that. This is a trying time, I would expect a more PERSONAL relationship. I may go ahead with bankruptcy, but it WILL NOT be with these people.
