Copart charges a membership fee for bidding online auctions. I thought it was a one time fee, as it should be. I paid the fee last year and was very upset to see they charged me again on September 6, 2024. I did not agree to be a lifetime member with yearly membership fees. The fee is $99.00 and I have tried to have them refund that amount without success. I am going to have to order a new debit card from my bank to avoid being charged again next year. They owe me $99.00 and an apology. My membership number is *****.

I am rejecting this response because:   At no time did I agree to an open ended membership. I have no way to prove this and Copart knows that I can not prove otherwise. I will contact Copart and attempt to be removed from any further membership fees. Failing that I will close the account they are currently using to defraud me with. I will advise people not to use Copart in the future. ***** ***** September 17, 2024.

My truck was taken to the Copart facility in ****************** so my insurance could evaluate the truck to see if it was totaled. Before my truck could be evaluated, copart employees cut the seat covers out of my truck and threw all my stuff in the bed of the truck. Those seat covers meant the world to me. They were a gift from my grandfather before he passed. The manager at copart was very apologetic and said as far as seat covers they would pay to replace the seat covers. So i went and bought some and sent them the receipt and i have been ignored ever since! This was destruction of property! I want to get reimbursed for the seat covers. 500$. And at this point im about to add another 500$ for pain and suffering. They had no right to cut them out! I have attached receipt, i have a separate receipt for one poece to the seat cover i had to purchase separately because they didn't have it in stock. It was *****

I purchased a vehicle from Copart on 08/09/2024, which was listed as having minor dents/scratches, running and driving, with no mechanical issues. Customer Answer

      Date: 09/06/2024

I am rejecting this response because:

I am entitled to full refund due to a breach of contract and fraudulent practices associated with the handling and delivery of my vehicle.
According to your company's policy, when a vehicle is within your facility or under your care, I am exempt from any inaccuracies regarding the description of the vehicle. Contrary to this policy, a driver from Copart contacted me from their yard to report that the vehicle was not drivable due to a known transmission issue. This was communicated prior to the vehicle's delivery, which was made to an incorrect addressone that did not match the address I provided.
This situation constitutes a breach of your contractual obligations and represents fraudulent conduct, as it deviates significantly from the agreed terms and misrepresents the condition of the vehicle.

In light of these issues, I am entitled to a full refund. Please address this matter promptly to avoid further legal action

This is a continuous with a complaint ******** I couldnt find where to get back with you after the 10 days, but I disagree with their response and I have an issue with 1st car Saturn vue I bought because I cant get a title and After the state of Michigan DMV ask me to ask copart to change the title purchaser to my brothers name So I can get a title (and I did) Cart said no they cannot do it it Because he is not the purchaser. but they are also lying about that because as the transporter was there to pick up the 2nd car and they told me was not able to purchase any cars in ******** car part did change the purses name over to her name (The transporter) in order to take it, even though she wasnt the one that bought it. The state of Michigan *** tells me that Copart broke the law by selling me a vehicle while I was under title registration restriction & Auction Company need to verify Before they sold me a car in ********. And the fact that they told me I was not able to purchase the other car why would they charge me my deposit money take my deposit money I was $600 for not picking up the car. They told me That the third car I was not able to purchase it so I Didnt go to pay for it or pick it up. And I called Parts. It doesnt say anything about checking out with the *** about any title registration restriction. It says under there that just needs an ID to prove that you and payments. Now I think they should give me the money I paid for the account to be a member and the deposit money because now I look at it as they broke law As they are supposed to verify a few things when they ask for my ID. Because now Im out doing anything with the Saturn view and Out on my deposit and membership fee where I truly wasnt able to use it as the carport website says, & now that you see that they do lie about things When its good for them or they dont wanna do it, but are able to do it. I hope you understand why I should be getting my membership fee, deposit back.$914

I am rejecting this response because: there are the ones that are in this business, and shouldve known that they should not have sold me a car if I was on the Michigan no title registration list as thats part of the responsibility for doing business in ******** because thats where the state of Michigan tells me that they As a dealership setting cars in ******** was supposed to check that list and see that I was on that list and not sell me the car or not even help me as a member because I wouldnt be able to purchase from there anyways. And at this point, I have 1 car and the other car of the three cars. I am not even able to register it or even get a title for it because after they sent the title to the state of ********, Michigan said that they werent able to process it so they mustve sent it back, if there was a return address with Pay return postage, or it was destroyed, but the car was not registered under my name. And as a company, they should be lying to the customers which they did lie to me because when My transporter went to pick up the second vehicle. They ended up putting the vehicle under Her name thats and let her take the Car out of the facility with my Transporter as the new owner of the vehicle because her name was on the title, not mine . But when I call the company to check if they can change the first vehicle title over to my Transporter name also they told me they Cannot do that because its their policy that they do not put anyones name other than the purchaser/account holders name thats who paid for the vehicle and bought the vehicle from them . And thats one point where you can see that they definitely do lie to the customers cause thats what they had did the day befor. So thats a lie they got caught on and I have proof of . Even the state of Michigan told me to ask them to send me Another title under my wifes name or somebody elses name is not registered in my name and they dont have it mustve been sent back, but I have not gotten anywhere with that with the company yet so theres no thing Im trying to solve with them at this point, but I do think they should return me the money that I paid to be member as I was not able to do it and they were not supposed to be a member if they were supposed to any vehicles As they are the ones that have lawyers, and are the ones that look into all the business logistics and stuff not the basic every day person trying to buy a vehicle for a good place on the website, I hope they understand my thoughts and how things are going on and how things are still going on and why I think I should be refunded my membership and my deposit and I hope they are able to send me another title and Ill just take care of it in another state

      Customer Answer

      Date: 10/08/2024

Well, Im just wanting to figure out. Why do they think its OK to keep my deposit when they told me When I went to pick up the second car out of the three cars that they are unable to sell me any vehicles but the vehicle I was reserved for that day They can put The title and the transporters name, but for me not to even worry about picking up the other car cause they cant send it to me so I didnt pay for it and I didnt pick it up and was supposed to sell me a vehicle as they had the responsibility of verifying the Michigans registration denial list if there are gonna be setting vehicles in the state of ******** And then the The first of The three cars I bided on I cant do nothing with because they said their policy is not to put a vehicle under somebody elses name if they were not the purchaser which is a lie or a contradiction What they telling me now Because they just did on my second vehicle I picked up. And now for the third car that I didnt pick up Because they told me They could not sell me the car  They Think it is right for good business to keep my deposit. And when I read their information on their website, theres plenty of places that it says I just need my state ID to purchase vehicles And that information I sent in before this Last response also shows why I feel that they are doing me wrong and that they should get some kind of **** on their BBB profile because I think I show that they are doing bad business and I am not satisfied with how they treat me and not helping me out or trying to understand what Im explaining to them why I feel and why I made this complaint because the response is too  post**** response like They most likely Reply with to anybody that makes a complaint To the BBB because I know that if they wouldve read all my complaints, they were understand. Where am I coming from and why I am not Satisfied with the response. But what do I Gotta do now? As I want people to know how they treated me and their business with me and how I was unsatisfied with their responses to me Because really didnt make any kind of response or reply that shows me that they took this complaint seriously or even try to resolve my issues with them because as you could see their responses Not from anybody that wouldve read my complaints and understood what I was trying to get them to understand.

On July 24th, 2024, I bought a car from Copart advertised as "run and drive" with a "Go" report confirming its highway drivability. This led me to believe the car was in working order. However, upon receiving the vehicle, the steering was completely unresponsive. I had to tow it to a mechanic, who estimated repairs at a staggering $9,500. Clearly, this car was undrivable, let alone suitable for highway use. When I complained to Copart, they deflected responsibility, claiming the transporter should have checked the vehicle and that once it leaves their lot, it's no longer their concern. This is absurd because transporters are third-party entities who can't drive the vehicles, and they certainly won't be testing them on highways. I'm now out $18,000 and counting, with additional towing and repair costs piling up.My advice? Don't fall for Copart's misleading practices. Exercise extreme caution when buying from them. Their customer service and business model are deeply flawed and leave buyers vulnerable to significant financial losses.

I am rejecting this response because Copart not only advertised this as runs and drive, but also said it drives on the highway in the go report. Why would we put false information on your website when you expect customers to do inspection? You should have not say any of that and ask customers to do inspection. Please refund because you are involved in highway robbery.

A year ago I joined copart to see about buying a used car. I quickly learned that the deals are not as good as they seemed to be. I will not go further into that. I withdrew my deposit and tried to cancel but was unable and decided to not worry and just not renew. I did not sign up for automatic renewal but was automatically renewed today. Maybe I inadvertently did because it is hidden in fine print in the awful and antiquated website? I immediately contacted and was told there is no refund even though I was charged yesterday. This is a very dishonest and scammy way to do business.

In response to the claim asserted by ********************* about her request to refund her Copart Membership fee,one of the prerequisites to bid on prospective vehicles is establishing a member account with **********************. To become a Copart member, an individual must pay the non-refundable membership fee and agree to Coparts binding Member Terms and Conditions. **************** member notes indicate that ********************* consented to the Terms and conditions on 8/28/2023. These Member Terms and Conditions state:

My car was rear ended by a semi truck insured by Acuity on 7/24. They were first going to fix it and then they were going to total it. Its 8/14/2024 and we are still trying to find a resolution. This car was bought from Copart with a clean title. The title I have from **** is clean. Carfax shows total loss and hence the insurance company does not want to pay the appropriate amount. I have reached out to the morons at copart but they have not responded. Copart is running a scam and they know it.

NMVTIS is a federal database for reporting salvage and junk vehicles that is entirely separate from state laws regarding which vehicles require a salvage or junk title. Therefore, from time to time, Copart, as required by federal law, reports clean title vehicles as salvage to NMVTIS that qualify under the NMVTIS definition as salvage.

Copart makes all members aware of this particular risk from the differences between state laws and federal laws. One of the prerequisites to establishing a member account with ********************** is agreement to Coparts binding Member Terms and Conditions.  Mr. *********** member account indicates he has consented to the current Member Terms and Conditions.
