Same as all the other complaints on here, I registered my son for a football camp and then was automatically entered into this program that costs around $90. I have seen from all the other reviews that they are going to jump on here and state that this is all part of an opt-in button, or something like that. This is not the case. It's all done very secretly and discreetly. I never would have agreed to a service like this. All I wanted to do was sign up for a camp. In fact, I received absolutely ZERO benefit from being discreetly added as a member of this very shady site. Unfortunately, this will be too late of a warning for anyone else.Business Response

Active Advantage debited my credit card for the amount of $89.95 without my consent or knowledge. I received an email claiming my trial period was up and I was being charged my 12month membership fee. I did not signed up for a trial with Active Advantage, and had never even heard of them until I did more digging into the credit card charge. Also, after some investigating, it looks like my local parks and rec use them as a payment processor for my gym membership fee, but I in no way signed up for anything with Active Advantage and did not give any consent for this company to auto charge my credit card.Business Response

I cannot believe the nerve of this company. I signed my five year old child up for a field trip through her school. Paid in cash but was required to register her on the farm's website in order for her to get to go. Apparently that was run by ACT/ACTIVE. This field trip costs $7 and now I'm charged $90 for what? This company charged my debit/credit card $89.95 for the charge for something I did not authorize.
I contacted the company several times by phone on 10/10/22, but no one answered the phone and there was no voicemail so I could leave a message. So I emailed them, and I received an email from them today 10/12/22 not even acknowledging the email I sent them yesterday 10/11/22 about unauthorized debit from my account. So I emailed them again today 10/12/22.
At this point, I need help in some action against this company for unethical business practices. I'm looking for them to refund my bank in the amount of $89.95. And to cancel any future debits from my account.
This is a terrible company preying on people to automatically take money from their account without their consent in hopes, they won't take the trouble to follow up to get their money back.
Please help in reporting this company and getting my refund.

Whatever excuse they are giving blaming the users for regarding navigation on their website is nonsense. They are deliberately attempting to collect undue cash. A refund of the amount of 89.95 was posted to my account yesterday, Thank you for this accomplishment. Howeverjust as important was how this charge originated which appears to be a common item in the similar posted complaints about this company and the bbb. Their response that the charge came from a pop up site does not answer the question. This card is not on a website and was only used on the date of charge at a Hotel in Savannah GA as a security depositno charge was made on this date. I want to know specifically how this charge was made. This is important so I can manage this card without possibilities of fraud.

Regarding how you signed up, when you registered for an activity, through one of our Active Network systems, you were presented with a 30-day trial offer of the Advantage program. The offer was to try the program free for 30 days and also provided you with an opportunity to claim $20 in rebates towards your future activity registrations. To start the trial you would have been required to verify (re-enter) your email address and click an offer acceptance button. Once the trial period ended your annual membership began and membership fee was charged automatically.
