01/05/24 I had surgery at a surgery center. I received 3 different claims from insurance. 1 from surgery center, 1 from the surgeon, 1 for Anesthesiologist, and later a mailed bill from Vigilant Anesthesiology. Believing this was a duplicate amount, I did not initially pay Vigilant in Feb. I paid everything through the surgery center. Upon verifying w/surgery center I owed the money to Vigilant, I set up a payment plan through *************************************************** as indicated on the bill sent to me. Payments were scheduled (set-it and forget it) recurring until paid in full. Payments were made debited of $47.88 (3/20/24), $47.85 (4/20/24), and $47.85 (5/20/24). Unknown to me Vigilant terminated the payment plan prior to 6/20/24. Upon receiving a PAST DUE of $430.62 dated 7/25/24 (unkn when was actually sent/delivered), I contacted customer NO service at ************ (3rd party payment center). After 1 hour of me insisting I had paid my bills associated w/my surgery, the *** WAS able to verify I had attempted to pay. In June "Vigilant declined the payment because it was against their policy to accept payment of under $50". I was NOT notified of this change by anyone. No where during the payment set up process was this noted. 3 payments had processed ALREADY on my payment plan to Vigilant and they were under the minimum of $50. The *** advised me that I had been sent to collections (news to me)! I still have not been advised of collections except from her. The *** said I had to pay today in full or they could not help me with the payment and I would need to reach out to collections. I am furious that I was paying, Vigilant declined the 4th payment (an all others) w/no notice, & sent me to collections & wants me to track down collections to give them money. Seems like a pretty unsavory business to opt midway to change an existing payment plan with no notice; to then send ***** to collections; & refuse to restart the payment plan. I didn't pay in full. I request a payment plan.
