I an filing a complaint against Fitness Connection for cancelling my membership. On September 3rd I went to workout at Fitness Connection in Austin Texas ***** ****** ***. While working out on the cable crossover machine using both sides right and left with my personal handle straps because I am a germophob. A member came up while I was sitting on the Lat pull down machine connected to the crossover cable machine I was using. Because the gym was not crowded I was working out on both machines until she walked up. I stated to her that I am using the cable machine and she said but you are using both. I said I am but you can have the Lat pull down because I really prefer to work my biceps. She said well I need this machine why don't use another machine.....Wow, I said excuse me! She said I need this machine and I said once again I am using it. This lady was rude and obnoxious and walked away with an attitude.
Long story short, after about 30 minutes she returns and says to me I am going to use this machine now you have been on it long enough. I said would you please get away from the machine I am still using it. She tried to remove my handle straps which is my personal property and I told her to please not touch my equipment it doesn't belong to Fitness Connection. She was very persistent in trying to take the machine from me even getting into my personal space and trying to remove my handle straps two or three times. I told her to go get the manager after she got in my personal space and grabbed my handle strap which I stepped in front of her and grabbed m handle strap. She leaves and goes to the front desk and a few minutes later they come and talk to me. They ask me my name and for my key fob. I asked why do you need my key fob and he stated to get your information. I said I can give it to you but aren't you going to ask me what happened? He said no I will have my General Manager call you to discuss the issue.Fitness Connection

I would give this place a 0 if I could, I canceled my membership for me and 3 of my kids after an accident . I was on the phone 2 separate times for over an hour one of the team members didn’t do his job right and forgot to cancel one of my kids and because he didn’t leave a note now I have to continue to pay 2 more months because of their policy. Worst customer service it’s their way or no way at all !Fitness Connection

The wait time for the customer services is an extremely long time. I finally got into contact just to get hit with a 30 day cancellation policy for cancelling on August 3rd. I know somebody is going to reply back with a non genuine response talking about how the 30 day cancellation policy is in the contract etc. and that we are told at the beginning of signing up. The real question is why make the policy to begin with. Logically, you know that policy is a scam because it doesn't make sense for the customer. I moved from my gym and now that gym is over an hour away. I cancelled on August 3rd, which means not only was I already charged for August 1st but I will also be charged on September 1st almost 30 days later for a gym that I wouldn't been to in basically a month. So, I'll have access to a gym over an hour away for an extra like 60 days after cancelling my gym membership. They don't truly care about their customers and will just keep mentioning how it's written in their policy instead of just changing the policy. Poor service. Please don't respond back if all you're going to say that this is "based on the policy blah blah blah". Nobody wants to here a phony response where you don't truly understand where the customer is coming from. I won't even risk transferring the service to a gym that's 20 minutes away from me for the last two months I am forced to have this membership because I don't want them to "accidentally" reenroll me and I'm stuck with this horrible gym cancellation process again! For all I know, there's probably also a fee to transfer and a wait policy. Don't sign up here.Fitness Connection

A 30 days’ notice is required when a cancellation is requested. I'm sorry you feel this way about the policy to cancel. Absolutely horrible experience. I will keep it short: 30 day cancellation policy is a fraudulent scam to get additional money without adding any customer value. Not ethical and very poor customer satisfaction from such slum low level financial practices.Fitness Connection

A 30 days’ notice is required when a cancellation is requested. This is informed at the time of enrollment and is also stated in the agreement that is sent via email address at the completion of enrollment. Canceled my membership. When trying to cancel my minors membership computer system messed up and still getting charged fees each month. They hardly answer phone when I call. Today I actually got to speak to a manager.
If computer system works out when you cancel then make sure you sign no matter what if not they will charge you without a signature. No matter what a manager and associate says. No signature- fee monthly or even charged you don’t make.Fitness Connection

Horrible experience. Cancelled my membership, have photo proof from the register, was charged for 6 months, Visited the club - they agreed membership was cancelled. Have been trying to follow-up with customer service for last 1 month but they don't respond and have not been refunded yet.

This is not a issue from Facilities. They responded as soon as they came to know. Issue is from customer service
I had to wait for 2 hours to talk to someone. They promised me to call back, never heard and this is going on for months now

they take A LOT of money from you and claim its "non-refundable"
they left me with $6 after taking $106 from my accounts without my knowledge
the only part thats non-refundable is the membership enrollment fee. this isnt a enrollment

I had a horrible experience with the gym and facility. The facility is never kept clean, weights are everywhere and there is not a proper process to file a complaint. The managers do not report issues or resolve them. I filed multiple complaints and not 1 was ever forwarded or resolved. They actually cancelled my membership because i lawfully enforced my right to make a report. I cannot recommend this business to anyone and there has been no follow up with me from anyone from corporate to even let me know if they are looking into the matter. I will continue to look into all of my rights regarding this matter and make sure i receive due process and acceptable communication. I would recommend anyone to use another company when it comes to your gym needs because this is a problem at all locations with how the facilities are managed.Fitness Connection

I am 77 years old and a member at the Bissonette facility. I tried to take one of the folding chairs outside the office complex to use on the carpeted floor. An employee told me I could not do that. Anyone care to explain?Fitness Connection
