    I was recommended to ******************************************* Chrome online. Craigs work looked great. He quoted me $ 365 for two pieces to be chromed. We had several positive email exchanges, and I agreed to the quote. The piece was mailed. A week later I emailed ***** a week later to see what the progress was, and I said I was just checking in with him. He informed me that he was working on the parts and would get back to me. The following day the parts arrived back from ***** which based on the previous day's email was a surprise. The package has COD status on it and the required amount was $610 dollars. Considerably more than I had initially agreed to. When I called him out on that the conversation took a very different tone. I was called "cheap" and it went downhill considerably quickly. I have been in business for 35 years and quoted many clients, if I change the price, I always confirm that price in advance to authorize the work. I was informed he didn't have my number (on all of the emails we exchanged) and he was too busy, and he didn't have time because he was so busy he couldn't keep up with his work. No matter how good your work may be your obligation in business, if you re-set the bar in regard to pricing you inform the client and allow them to determine to proceed of back out. $200 more for two pieces in a huge jump and if I had been quoted that to begin with, I would have said no. That is a 33 % increase between the quote and the final price. I would personally not do business with any entity that could not at the beginning of a transaction honestly quote me and remain within the price guideline. Caveat emptor.

    We only provided estimates for work not a firm quote and there is a difference between the two. Our website clearly states that COD fees, freight cost and insurance are additional expenses, for these parts these cost were $65. 

    Once the parts were received and work began the parts are cast from pot metal and needed additional acid copper to meet our standards All pot metal varies in quality and these parts were in very poor condition,  the additional acid copper application cost $180 ( 50% of the original estimate).  If we were to stop in the middle of the process and e-mail the customer, as no phone number was provided, the cost would have been even more and work on the parts would have to begin again.

    It is impossible to give a quote for any parts not knowing the quality of the metal under the existing plating.
