BBB initiated an investigation on the company on October 21, 2016 following a review of the business' website and contacted the company asking them to submit any information/proof of additional tax
preparation firms where the owner is affiliated and also asked that the business remove any mention of the word "accounting." The Texas State Board of Public Accountancy only permits businesses advertise accounting services if a CPA is affiliated with the business. BBB reviewed Texas Secretary of State filings, which indicated the owner was connected with Global Tax Services, a company with unanswered BBB complaints. The business responded to the BBB on November 10, 2016 stating there is not an affiliation between the two companies and also stated "accounting" mentions would be removed; however, state filings indicate the same principal for both companies, and BBB complaints on file name individuals at both companies. Also, the "accounting" mention is still present on the business' website. Following the November 10, 2016 correspondence, further response was not provided.
