Signed on for a catastrophic plan. It sounded great! Everything I needed. I paid 477 dollars including a 125.00 non refundable application fee. Just 7 days after purchase I found out, after needing a procedure it was a reimbursement plan. This was the one detail left out of the almost perfect plan. I would have never signed up for this had I known this one important detail. Called to cancel the policy and get my money back. The children they have working there kept repeating the same thing. The application fee is nonrefundable. It's our policy. You signed a contract. You will not be getting the application fee back. The fact that the child I spoke to omitted vital information was of no consequence to them. Deceptive way to get 125.00. Christian organization my left foot. Your actions prove otherwise. Your actions show a deceptive practice to get money using God as a player in this scheme
      Shame on you.

In September and October of 2021 I had cataract surgery. I did not receive an denial letter until after my first surgery. I had to do the second surgery as my left eye was having issues. I submitted an appeal in October of 2021. With that being said:
On 11/19/2021 I spoke with ******** She said she did not see any appeal and asked me to resend which I did on 11/19/2021. She said could take 30-60 days.
On 1/13/2022 I spoke with ****. He said he submitted an escalation and listed it as two separate appeals, one for right eye one for left eye. He also said there is a lack of effort on OneShares part.
On 2/11/2022 I spoke with ******* said they received missing information from ****** Health and should hear back 30/60 days.
On 3/15/2022 spoke with ****** He said to fax everything as he did not see it all. I faxed 50 pages.
On March 18,2022 spoke with ****** She said bills are processed by an outside source.. Everything was so behind. She set up a case. Said she believed the faxes were received. Again the same nonsense of waiting 30-60 days.

So here I am 8/3/2022. I have NEVER EVER HEARD anything. I have gone to collections, making payments with money I do not have. My eye specialist is appalled that my surgeries were labeled pre existing. He has said NEVER in his career has cataract surgery been labeled pre existing. One in every 6 adults over the age of 40 has a cataract but my takes years to noticeably affect vision. That is NOT pre existing. Half of white americans have cataract.

For a organization that claims to be Christian based (as a Christian that is why I went with OneShare) I am so upset at the lack of follow thru, lack of response, lack of caring. It is insane that almost one year later I am having to reach out about this. These bills SHOULD BE PAID (SHARED)BY YOU. Again, my own Doctor, a specialist in his field is mind boggled that it even was denied as pre existing.

      ****** ****,a VERY upset member

I received a letter today reversing the denial of my case. However, no indication as to how or when bills will be paid yet. I'm in collections. I will update as I get more information

They have contacted me however, until the bills are all paid and whatever I paid over my deductible is returned, it's just words on a paper. I will up the BBB once everything is satisfied

      Hello,

We had been in contact with our member via email in January 2023 with the determination made in sharing of her share requests.

      Thank you,

I am rejecting this response because:   Yes they have been in contact with me HOWEVER, there are still outstanding bills I am in collections for.  I paid well over my ***** deductible so all bills should be paid as well as me getting a refund on the overpayment.  All I do is get the run a round.  I am considering legal action as this has been going on since November of 2021!!!

      Customer Answer

I have uploaded everything 3 times and when I hit submit says no longer available.

You asked for documentation, when I try to upload and hit proceed nothing happens.  I tried 3 times.  Complaint #********

Here is a copy of the reversal of denial, a breakdown of what I laid out (above and beyond my ***** deductible) a copy of anesthesia bills that are in collections, doctors bills in collections.  I have 3 additional Dr. bills.  I was assigned a specialist, *****************************.  ************************************.  All I get is the run a round.  I have sent her everything MULTIPLE times.  I last heard from her on 3/16/2023.  At one point I was told that the bills were processed as they had them.  I said you can't do that you have to allow for the fact that I paid above and beyond my deductible.  This has been going on since 2021!!

We here at OneSahre Health take complaints from our members very seriously, as we initially thought that this complaint was resolved last year, our teams will review all relevant information and contact our member when a determination has been made.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 06/15/2023

I am rejecting this response because:   They are well aware of all the bills that are outstanding. As I stated, I was assigned a specialist who very well knows.  I last heard from her 3/2023.  I have resent proof of what I paid numerous times as well as collection bills.

I always get the same answer/ run around.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 06/23/2023

The Chief Legal Counsel for OneShare has been in contact with me.  As such a  payment to me is supposed to be sent within 15 business days.  The money would pay off the outstanding balances and reimburse me for my overage (above the deductible)  I have everything in writing.

I do want to thank you for getting involved as without the BBB involved I would have had to have an attorney handle it.

One share health has been paying Dr visits fine, but when I went to an urgent care facility they denied my claim even though I am allowed 2 urgent care visits per year. This was the first time I had used it and only used it this time because my dr was booked for a week.
Spoke with a representative from one share health and she was no help at all. She just kept telling me it wasn't covered and I could dispute it. She couldn't tell me why it wasn't covered.
