  This place scammed me out of $5,000 for failing to repair a leak in my fireplace. I called for a leaking fireplace issue, and not ever has it stopped leaking since their two visits. The second time the technician assured me a chimney cap would resolve the problem once and for all. He even mentioned that a specially made chimney cap needed to be ordered and would cost more. After speaking to other chimney repair folks, my chimney is STANDARD, and did not need an extra cost for a custom cap.On top of that, I have attempted to contact this company numerous times and in many ways (phone, email, and their website form). There was always an incredible delay in response and when I would get a response it was always, I will investigate and get back to you. This is without any follow *** for weeks, resulting in me needing to call again. From there, another game of phone tag and being asked to wait until a technician calls.I have recorded every single time I have contacted them including their claim that the leak is from an entirely different place. This place is almost fraudulent and essentially a scam. We will be filing a complaint and taking them to small claims court in a few months, which our attorney says we have everything we need.Stay away from this company.

  United Home Services is dishonest. I live outside of *******, and they came out in December 23 for $125 fee to diagnose my fireplace not occasionally lighting or staying lit. The tech told me a certain part(thermopile) was bad due to the voltage he showed me. He stated it would be $600 to replace. When I balked the tech then went down to $500, which I still declined. No detailed bill was provided. Obviously, they were trying for a money grab. After he left, I looked up the part the tech said was bad and by easily cleaning it resolved the voltage problem. I then replaced the real defective part(gas valve) and the fireplace has worked flawlessly for the past 2 months. Even if the thermopile had been defective the part online would have been less than $100 and the work would have taken no more than 1-1.5 hours. So I wasted $125 for the tech to mis diagnosing the issue and then trying to way overcharge. me. I filed a complaint with the company and *** from the company called me and told me the cost was justified and was of no help. I will never use them again.

  It's really A Nice Thing Calling BBB to get My Cleaning done ? the Air Duct was perfectly filtered out and clean with absolute care The vent was well taken care of as well Really appreciate You guys

  Total rip off!!! Had them come and clean and inspect my fireplace, chimney. Left it in the same condition. Not sure what tech vacuumed but definitely didn't vacuum fireplace!! There were still spiders webs in fireplace and a plastic container my wife saw prior to us lighting logs!! Waste of money! Will never use them again and definitely won't be referring them!!!

  Really wish it was possible to give zero stars or negative numbers. Had a chimney sweep service for $125. Technician comes in with a shop vacuum and a brush with poles to attach to a drill. I sat behind him as he vigorously vacuumed the bottom of the fireplace. After 20 minutes or so the vacuuming continued and at this point I was perplexed. Finally he turned off the vacuum and stated he needed to inspect the chimney for a estimate if more work was necessary. He began to pack up the poles and brush and U asked if he even used them and he said I did. He proceeded to go outside to inspect my chimney. He had his phone in his hand and came inside and said everything looked fine. I asked him if he used a drone to check because he merely stood in the middle of my yard. He went on to say the roof was to high so he inspected it from the ground. I let him no I was dissatisfied and he offered to brush the chimney "again". At that point I just wanted him to leave because I was in fear for his safety ??. I called the office and they stated if it's a 2 story house it becomes dangerous for the Technicians. He used his cell phone flashlight to look up my chimney. I could not be more disappointed absolute waste of money.

  United home service is a very dishonest company. They came to my house to clean my air duct, dryer and my chimney. They advertise that they clean your system and do not specify how they clean. This is the first time Im hearing about light cleaning. It took 20 minutes to (clean) the air duct. When I questioned about the time it took he said we paid for a light clean. So I ask how much for a heavy clean he said $900. Then he went to do my dryer it took him no more than 5 minutes to (clean). I dont think they did any work to my dryer ducts. One person stayed inside the house and I took the other one to show the chimney location outside the house. By the time I returned it inside less than 1 minutes he was finished. When I think he was going on the roof to clean he said I look at it and it looks good. After they left I was going to clean the visible part of the wall of the chimney I open the vent and all the suds fell on me. I call them back . I was told I paid for light cleaning. This is ridiculous. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Stay Away from United Home Services.

  Sadly, I must leave a bad review for United Home Services. They replaced a chimney cap months ago and the installation was improper resulting in issues related to our gas fireplaces. We were lucky a fire didn't start. In addition, the collars attached to the chimney caps were the improper size and instead of telling us that, they were installed improperly, with all kinds of things stuffed around them which didn't prevent leakage. When this was brought to their attention (we found out through the fireplace company), they "fixed the liners" in the chimney with the promise to order collars that fit and would be installed. That was months ago and I've left messages, to no avail. I would definitely not do business with this company again. They are unreliable and quite honestly, not skilled in the things they advertise.

  In 2022 I had a crack forming in the stone plates. Contacted United Home services and requested an estimate to replace the stone plates. I need a cleaning performed. I scheduled service in October. The technician was on time and performed the cleaning and the inspection. I ask about the inspection and for the estimate for the stone work. The technician tells me that the panels are custom and they would have to schedule a measurement to be exact probably around $1500. Needing save up for something like that he tells me that he could patch the crack. I ask how long should that last and I am told 4-5 years for about $200. I agree and he performed the service with the understanding that it should last for a few years. In February we used the fireplace everyday for a week. The crack was starting to form again. 2/9 I call United to let them know and I am told that there is not a warranty on a repair like that by the secretary. I ask to speak with the manager and he was not in that she would give him the message. 2/27 He gives me a call and I am busy he leaves a message. 3/16 I talk with the manager Mike, I am again told that there is no warranty for that type repair. That they do not perform that anymore. I tell Mike what his technician told me. Again told that they do not perform that repair anymore, it is on my paperwork, and they cannot warranty a repair like that. Irritated at this point I explain my position that I have paid $487 dollars to have a cleaning and inspection. I am out several hundred dollars because his technician performed a repair that they are not going to stand behind. Mike tells me that he would talk to his partner and "call me back by the end of day." At this point I feel cheated. They are not standing behind there work. Never got an estimate for the original reason I called. Mike has yet to call me back to make me even feel the slightest bit valued. I am not happy with the service that I received nor the way I have been disregarded as a customer.

  Beware! They will take your money with a brush and a big loud vacuum and no cleaning will be happening.
