I ******* *** had an racial slur from the employees Store Manager Nicole and Sales Associate/Cashier Ruth. This all took place at the At Home Department Store in 3655 Plank Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22407 On 12/23/2022, I was shopping in At Home with my mother, daughter and granddaughter. When we went to checkout, I informed the cashier, Ruth, that I am a military spouse and therefore entitled to the 10% discount they offer to military & family members, and I showed her an image on my phone of my identification card. I also informed her that I regularly shop there and have received the discount many times, and suggested that she could check my shopping history, which they maintain in their computer and can look up using my phone number. She became hostile and irate, called me a "Bitch", then she called store manager, Nicole, to discuss the discount. While Ruth and Nicole were standing at the doorway talking about me, I walked over to introduce myself and attempt to speak to the store manager, and I introduced myself as a regular, loyal customer. The store manager Nicole, was immediately hostile, and after speaking briefly, she called me a "fat black whore", and in a state of complete shock, I immediately began recording on my cell phone, and I asked her: "What kind of whore am I?" To which she happily responded: "The Nigger Kind." She then told me she was calling the police to falsely claim I was harassing her and refusing to leave, when all I wanted to do was purchase my items with my valid discount. My family and I left & waited outside for the sheriff. When the sheriff arrived, I was informed my daugher and I were forever banned from entering At Home. Per our conversation with Bill *******, Regional Director for the At Home Department Store. I would receive a call back from him and he never called back. The conversation between Bill ******* and I took place on 12/28/2022.At Home

I initially bought a lampshade on line and it was delivered via door dash . I wasn’t home so it was left in the foyer of my apartment block without any packaging - just the lampshade !! Weird. I took it back and so First time at the store in Danvers Ma. Staff were very nice but NO ASSISTANCE on the shop floor to help. I spent an hour trying to figure out the lampshade fittings and had to walk from front to back of the store twice to ask a question to the only staff on checkouts . The store needs customer support on the floor . The items I bought were very good , but the experience wasn’t so good .At Home

5 starsI had the best experience at the At Home store in *********, ******** yesterday. I was totally frustrated trying to find a lamp shade. After spending over half an hour trying to find one to fit a lamp, CoCo, an At home employee, came along. She could not have been more helpful. She really worked with me to try to find the right combination of harp, shade etc. CoCo truly went above and beyond her job description to be helpful. Thank you, CoCoReview fromDvora D

I walked into At Home for the very first time to pick up an online order. They were having a hard time finding my order & the person bringing my item from the back named ****** brought up the wrong item. I smiled at him & giggled. He finally brought up my correct ********* said thank you very much, & he began screaming at me by the registers saying I had laughed in his face!! What!?? I said I did not- but he began screaming at me again!!! I was shocked. This was my first ever interaction with At Home. I wanted to shop the store since I had never done so before, but ****** was STILL working on the floor despite numerous employees witnessing his abusiveness & the manager getting involved. Needless to say, I only shopped part of the store & left quickly because this obviously mentally unstable person was still there! If this were my store, & I saw one of my employees acting in this outrageously inappropriate way towards one of my customers, I would have fired them on the spot. I was informed a few days later by a manager that, in spite of the fact that this is NOT the first time this has happened, that he was NOT fired!!! This was by far the worst retail experience I have ever had. I will not shop there again- ever. What a terrible first impression, At Home...At Home

Bought a set of bath mats for $35 and they were supposed to be machine washable. On the first wash on the gentle cycle they shredded. ************** ******* store, and they offered me a 20% discount on my next purchase. Didn't need the discount because I will not be shopping there ever again. At Home

I purchased seasonal decor in January 2023, after the season was over. I paid $90 for a tree, I returned it a week ago, with the receipt ,to my surprise I got less than half back, i didn't notice after I returned it and looked at the receipt, they said , anything returned after Dec 25, would be returned for the current selling price, first of all I purchased the item after the season was over, it says you 60 or 90 days to return, why would a store, literally scam the customer out of money? Not even hobby lobby, ******** or *****'s, do something like that to their customer's, that's literally cheating the customers. There should be a law to protect the consumers against this type of return policy, especially if you have proof of purchase. . Its understandable if one does not have a receipt, yes, you get it at current selling price, but why scam your customers? Thats very unfair, dont message me and say that's your policy yada yada yada . I'm not shopping there anymore, I'm closing my account, and I hope they lose thousands of customers, just for this unjust practice. BBB, what can be done for this unfair practice? It's literally scamming, robbing the customers, one should get the money they paid for .At Home

We're really sorry for any confusion with the return policy which can be found at the bottom of your receipt as well as onther website at *************************************************************** ***************
Any item categorized in our Seasonal Christmas department that's returned after December 25 will only be refunded at the current sale price, even if the product is purchased after December 25th and/or if the original receipt is present. If the merchandise is coded in the Seasonal/Christmas department, the current price of that item is what will be refunded when the item is returned. This information can be found at the bottom of every receipt.

I purchased several items in The Bronx store and all of the items I purchased had a sticker price on them. Much to my surprise the price is different at the register. Why? I was told that the price is on the tag, meanwhile 85% of the items in the store do not have tags they have a sticker price. The item I wanted had a price of ***** but the register said it was *****, then another item had a price of ***** but the register had a price of *****. What kind of shady practices are these? Is At Home trying to ******* the consumer in today's economy. I am only mentioning two items but just imagine all those people that just walk out without checking their receipts? How much money has this company stolen from unsuspecting shoppers? ************!At Home

Hi ****, The cost to make and ship home décor products has risen dramatically in the last year. That has resulted in necessary price increases across the entire home décor category on the products most impacted by these cost increases. Despite that, At Home is committed to offering the biggest selection of take-it-home today décor at the best prices anywhere. We encourage you to compare our prices, and we continue to stand by our Best Price Promise. If the pricing on the item is incorrectly labeled, the associate at the store should always honor the lowest price.Marisbel D
Date: 01/27/2023
If the employee would have honored the lowest price, I would not have contacted the BBB. Also, I have my original emails from at home and at no point did it state that the employee should honor the lowest price. Instead, I was give some speal regarding inflation. Training is obviously lacking at the Bronx store. The company as a whole should do better.Review fromBecky A

I was refused a refund two times in your ********* store. For both transactions I had the receipt for what I paid. They would only give me half of my money back because it was a seasonal item. It was very clear the amount I paid on the receipt, both times it was less than a week of the purchase, and they still refused the full amount. It just doesn't seem rightAt Home

Shopped in the *******, ** location. Had ****** worth of items in my carriage, but when I saw that the line was 15 customers deep, and had only one cashier, I quickly changed my mind and put half of it back. I did receive 10% off for using my phone number and sharing my information, though! I was very angry when I got home to find out that the nice white, cotton-linen napkins and tablecloth I bought for my guests turned out to be the poor rejects that higher quality stores carry, even though I was charged the same price. This is why I just shop high-end. I get what I pay for. What a waste of my time. I just threw them out. This was posted. At Home
