      On March 11 the salesperson for this company Hunter, approached me at my home while I was in my yard. He was soliciting pest control business for this company. I agreed to try the company & was told I would receive the contract by email. When I went into my home I researched the company & saw the horrible reviews. I promptly called Romex & told them I want to cancel the contract. I asked to receive proof of my cancelation by email. I didn't receive the proof but instead another contract. On March 13 I then sent the attached email. I believed that the matter was closed. Three months later I saw that Romex charged $250 to my **************** as a cancelation fee. I called **** to dispute the charge. The decision was in favor of Romex. **** told me this is due to them having a signed contract. They advised me to file a lawsuit in small claims court. I called and canceled this contract a short time after ****** left my property. According to the *************************, the law is very clear in ***** with respect to door-to-door transaction. You have the right to cancel the sale within three business days. ***. Bus. & Comm. Code ***., Sec *******. In addition to your right to cancel these transactions, the merchant is required by law to provide you notice of your 3-day right to cancel. ***. Bus. & Comm. Code ***., Sec 601.052-601.053. The merchant must do so by giving you a contract or receipt stating the date of the sale, the name and address of the merchant, and a statement of your right to cancel the contract including an address for sending your cancellation notice. I never received this door to door sales requirement. In researching this company I have learned that this cancelation fee practice that they engage in has many, many consumers upset. Consumers should be protected from these people. The number of complaints of the business practices of this company speaks volumes.       I hired Romex earlier this year to rid my house of rodents. Their service did not meet my expectations as they did not remedy the rodent problem. I emailed them to cancel my service, I then got a text to call them to try to retain my business. I declined and they told me there would be a $250 early cancellation fee. I specifically asked the door to door sales representative if there was a cancellation fee to which he told me NO. I the BBBs site is littered with the same exact complaint which shows this is a standard practice to tell a prospective customer what they want to hear then doing the opposite and charging this fee. Its a flat out lie for their salesperson and the company should honor their word rather exacerbate their poor service.

      I took out pest control service with ROMEX on July 29, 2024. The main reason I signed up for service was to take care of a mouse issue at home. the salesman assured me they could handle the problem. I had 1 yard treatment for bugs and they put a couple of black boxes in the yard for mice. My husband, who was a building contractor for 45+ years was not home at the time. I signed up for one year, every other month. Meanwhile, my husband had consulted with a nationally well-known company (*****). BOTTOM LINE, WE HAD MICE IN THE ****** ATTIC, EVERYWHERE! (ORKIN crawled around the attic and showed us pictures) Insulation had to be replaced and they also did termite and bug control. We called ROMEX to cancel & they told us we would have to pay a $250 cancellation fee even though they were unable to do what was necessary to take care of our problem. They are fast talkers and tell you what you want to hear even if they are unable to deliver.

      We were pushed by a door-to-door salesman to take pest control from Romex for just $65 for the first service and then quarterly service at $129 however they started charging monthly. We noticed that the services did not have any effect on the pests- Spiders and insects kept returning due to frustration we requested to cancel the service the phone *** said it will be cancelled however minutes later we received an early cancellation fee invoice.

      This company did not notify me there was a cancelation penalty if I decided to cancel the service. The salesman just present the electronic pad with the place to sign for the service. What I signed was the contract that explained the cancelation penalty but i was not made aware of and the salesman never informed me there was an early cancelation penalty.*******************************

      They are the worst pest control service provider. When they come to your door to sell their product, they make all sorts of promises. They had me sign up for their service. I never had any pest problems inside my house before signing up with them. After three months of service, I started seeing spiders and beetles in my patio, front yard and even bedrooms. I called to file a complain. The lady told me they didnt have anyone available and gave me a time frame of the whole day for next service. I told her I cant stay home the whole day waiting for the pest control to show up some time and asked her to cancel the account. She transferred me to a person named *******. ******* had a very rude behavior. She told me I have two options. Either wait for someone to come to my house to spray again or cancel the account for a $250 charge. I told her she cant charge me $250 cancellation fee for them not providing the promised service. She hung up the phone. As soon as the call got disconnected, I got a notification that my credit card is charged with $250 for canceling the account. Please do not sign up with these scammers. They are the worst pest control providers.

      Romex pest control came to my door and the salesperson let me know that they service my entire street. This should have been a red flag. I thought their service was pricier than other pest control services in the area, but since they serviced my neighborhood I figured Id give it a shot. I signed up for a 12-month contract for my home to be sprayed once per quarter. Thats what I was sold on. When I saw an 18-month contract for every other month, I was told that this would be fixed and a note made on my account. A note was made for every other month on a 12-month contract. Not once per quarter. I have tried to resolve this issue with the company and continue to get the salesman pitch of how their product works but I have to get my home sprayed every month for it to work. Their chemical does not work. I had to go to ********** and buy hornet, mud ******, spider, and wasp killer to take care of the pests. A $10 can works better than their product. To add insult to injury I found 2 wasps nests at the entrance of my front door and five mud ****** nests on my front porch stone columns. I am continuously being told that the product increases activity before it works. This is a bag of horse manure. Additionally, I was told the increased activity was my fault since I had to reschedule for them to come after my initial treatment. My daughter was hospitalized and I rescheduled my service because we had a family emergency. Romex still showed to my door on my way out to the hospital and charged me for service. They have great customer service when they want to sell you something, but when you are unhappy about the quality of their work they try to sell you on more services. I want my contract to be canceled without penalty. I regret ever signing up with this pest control company as it is a scam, it does not work, and I continue to be put on the phone with salesman who want to sell me on additional services.

      After a pushy door to door salesman sold me a contract for around 100 a month (I have misplaced the contract so I am not going to quibble about that) price went up to 180. I was grudgingly paying. Then my husband lost his job and I called and informed them we couldn't do it anymore. I was told that was fine. I was not told there would be a 250 fee for canceling. I couldn't afford the 180 so they charge me 250.

      I signed up for ROMEX from a door to door salesman. After signing up, I was charged immediately and sent a contract that I never agreed to. I was also informed that if I wanted to cancel, I would have to pay $250, which I also never agreed to. After reading other complaints, I see this scam behavior is how ROMEX normally functions. They have charged me $129 multiple times for services when I have proof from my security cameras that no one ever showed up on the dates provided. I would like to cancel any future visits and charges without having to pay the cancellation fee.

      I was approached while standing in my yard, they wanted me to try the service, and if not satisfied I could cancel, no problem. The time came for the second service and I cancelled saying I had seen no difference and I did not need the service. In fact the only problem I had was fire ants in the yard which I controlled myself more effectively. I was also assured the service would prevent wasp and yellow jacket and dirt ****** nests, I still had to remove myself. Upon canceling that first follow up service I was informed like many others say in here that it would be $250 to cancel. It appears to be a pattern with this business and they come in here saying they canceled this nonexistent fee.I would not use this company with unprofessional ethics and practices.I plan upon canceling Or attempting to cancel like I do every 2 months
