      Cody came to my dad's house on 7/22/22 and convinced him to do a one time service for $73.83. My dad, who is on a fixed income, does not read or speak English. On 9/14/22, a transaction for $148.73 by Romex Pest Control was taken out of his account and he asked me why he was charged again at a higher amount when he already paid. I emailed the company and they would not cancel. The best they are willing to do is charge $250 cancellation fee or decrease the rate to $99 service. I explained that my dad does not read or speak English and is on a fixed income. He can not afford the fees and services. My dad did not understand what he was signing nor did he have an email for them to send the electronic contract. The company is taking advantage of the elderly.

      It is very clear that Romex is a door-to-door scam. You are told just about anything to get the sale done. I was told something completely different at signing. I was told that I could cancel at any time and that I would only be charged 4 total times in one year. That is not the case. I already had a pest control company. When I called to ask why they charged me back to back in one month they said that is normal. The people answering the phone are clearly in sales and not customer service. The guy I talked to on the phone ran to cancel my contract. It is also very clear that they deal with this a lot due to their poor ethics. They are not up front with the customer from the beginning.

      Signed up for door to door pest control service, for every other month. Received a second service, that I did not set up or authorize, exactly one month after the first service. I called to let them know that A) The job was not completed as described, B) I did not authorize the work to be done, C) I did not authorize that amount and D) I wanted to cancel any remaining services. I was told that in the "fine print" the first service would be done 30 days after the first and there would be a $150 dollar charge to cancel my service. They declined to refund my money and have now charged $250 to my credit card as a cancellation.

      This morning, a Romex salesperson came to my door and we discussed a potential need for the product. He was friendly and I agreed to set up an initial service visit for next week. After quickly being moved through the signing process, I was sent an email of a 12-month agreement with a cancellation fee of $250 should I ever want to stop service - a fee never discussed or brought up to me. While I liked the salesperson as a person, I do not appreciate the business practice of rushing through deals without disclosing pertinent info. After reading reviews and learning this appears normal practice by Romex, I would like to cancel the account immediately and all future visits without any fee. Thank you.

      July 22, 2022, Tate a representative of Romex Pest Control pitched my his deal. I told him I already had a vendor. He said try one time for $69, but sign the contact. He said he would throw out the contact if I wanted to stay with my vendor. I told him that I was going to speak to my vendor to compare services and prices. My vendor $106 Romex $150. I called Romex on Monday, July 25 and spoke with Brad who said I needed to pay a cancellation fee of #74.69, I should be happy because they were not charging me $250 and they were reducing my cancellation fee. Tate had not mentioned anything about a cancellation fee. Brad proceeded to charge my VISA for the extra money. After seeing all of these similar stories, it is obvious that Romex makes extra money on the side by scamming their customers. Their business practices are unethical and deceptive. The attorney general's office should investigate Romex Pest Control and access penalties. I think we know who the rodents are.
