  Stay away from these rip-off artists. They dont give you copies of anything you sign. They dont inspect car with you for damages before you drive off. They charged me $258.19 to put half a tank of gas at the ************** location.

  Run. Do not rent a car from this company. I ended up paying double what I had already paid online to rent the car. The agent told us we needed things that we absolutely did not need. Total scam.

  I dont even know how to begin to describe my horror of an experience with this company. So as not to bury the lede, run as far away as you can if any search engine brings them up is having the best price. Not worth it, and misleading. Now to my specific experience. I put in my days and times of rental, and they came in as having by far the best rate through Priceline. I have never tried them, so I figured I would give it a go. One thing I didnt realize at the time was that even though I had put in my pick up time and drop off time correctly, they ended up resetting my drop off time so that my quoted price was actually one day less than it should have been. Once I got to the counter, there was a line out the door and I was led to understand this was very average. The wait was almost 2 hours. Once I finally did get to sit down with someone, I decided to pick an insurance plan, and based on the price that was quoted to me, it should have added about $80 to my four day rental. I also had to add a full day of rental because of the time reset on my online rental form. Fine. The shock came when I got the final tally. Somehow an additional $120 turned into over $300 of Up charges. I could not wrap my brain around how that had happened. I still go over the bill and cannot figure out where they came up with the extra $180 of charges. It was this fee here, that fee there, this tax here, that tax there. When I booked through Priceline it said that all of the additional fees and taxes were included in the price I paid. I am still battling with support over this, and they insist I signed for all of these charges. If I did, they were obscured, and I still feel very ripped off.Do anything you can to avoid ever, ever renting from this company.

  Beware do not rent from them!! There is a dishonest(thief ) among the staff at the ****************************************************** office. Someone stole my wallet with cash, CA ID, credit cards and checkbook from the inside of my rental car that was parked and in line to be returned. I discovered No Wallet on the shuttle going to the airport for my flight. I got back to NU Car Rentals 20mins later reported it to the staff and looked for it. MY rental car had been moved and was being washed .No one saw the wallet and everyone just looked" Blank". The manager was useless. He seemed unconcerned and did nothing to even look into the situation. OOPS, he let **************** me to the gas station next door ,******** Market Place.since I filled the gas tank prior to returning the car,.I told ***** it wasnt there he persisted , I went. It wasn't there like I told him. I told him point That Someone at the Rental stole my,wallet, probably the first person who checked it in. No comment from him except that he was sorry. I couldn"t pursue it further, my priority was getting to the airport and figuring out how I was going to get back to ********** without any identification. I did miss that flight ,what a mess. I'm back in ********** and am slowly replacing my stolen items , Don"t Rent from NU Car Rental. ****** learned: Check and recheck when leaving anywhere, there might be a thief in the mist waiting to steal left behind property. I did file a police report.

  Scammers! This company will scam you with extra charges. I paid online for my reservation in full!! $540 The day after I dropped off the car I was charged additional fees to the tune of $730. They cant explain the fees and when I called ******* for customer service was very hostile and confrontational. She blamed everything on my husband. She laughed when I asked her to explain the charges. I paid all these charges online when I made the reservation now I am being charged for them a second time and all she could do was laugh. Stay away from this company they are nothing but scammers. They will be sued.

  Hopefully lots of people will read this review. I hope that I deter as many people as possible. User beware as you will certainly be disappointed with your experience and if you are lucky, you will not be cheated out of money. There is a non existent customer service department and their kind staff does not know they cheat you out of money that is non refundable on the back side of the agreement. Go somewhere else to take care of your needs.

  Do not use NU car rental. I paid the full price six weeks ahead of my reservation at the ******, ** airport. Picked up the car okay, turned it in a week later, there was no issue, then two days later my credit card was charged an additional $300. No reason was stated for the second charge. Phone calls always roll to voice mail (unanswered) or youre asked to email (no reply). My bank is disputing the charge.

  I rented from NU car rentals at the **************. I thought I was prepared for inevitable over selling on insurance for the rental car but was surprised at how insistent they were. Despite telling the agent several times that I had my own coverage, he continued to push it until he finally relented. I witnessed his colleague at another counter over selling insurance to an unsuspecting foreign tourist who appeared to have fallen for their strong-arm sales tactics.Additionally, as I was signing the forms for the rental, one of them asks you to acknowledge the state of the vehicle, without the agent showing you a condition report of any kind. I asked to see it and was told that I "should do my own inspection". I did just that and would advise other customers to do the same. The vehicle I rented was in good working order but had several significant scrapes and scratches all over - take a video and plenty of photos before you drive it off the lot.I would not recommend renting from these guys !

  DO NOT RENT FROM NU CAR!!!!NU Car rentals was a horrible experience. I had to wait around 45 minutes to pick up car once we arrived at the store. They did not have the car I reserved there, which was fine as the gave me an upgrade However, the car they gave me reeked of weed. We were in a rush so we had to deal with the smell. The car was very rough to drive and it was clear it was not up to date on maintenance.They refused to compensate me for the smell after drop off and I had to fight tooth and nail for my full deposit. These people are snakes always pushing up sells and fighting to not take care of you! Use one of the bigger companies such as Hertz. NU Car may be cheaper but they actually end up being more after fees!Save yourself the headache and rent somewhere else!
