On Sept 12, 22, I called County Wide Service ACA28066E, TACL82066R for service. My air conditioning on ********************************* quit. I told them that I thought I needed a new start capacitor. That morning they sent a service man. He verified that I needed a new start capacitor and a run capacitor. He said it would be $500 for one and I don't remember the cost for the second one, he also said that I was also low on **22. I agreed to put a pound in for $500. The costs seemed excessive to me so I went in the house and checked the Internet. Both capacitors could be bought for much less than $100 dollars. The **22 could be bought as cheap as $10 in bulk and I could have purchased 2 pounds for $160 dollars. I am aware the Contractor is allowed a mark up but I think this amounts to a scam. I complained to the service man but he said his hands were tied, I understood and called the service manager. He said he would mark the bill down 15%, I feel the bill should be no more than 800 dollars and that is being ****** generous. With 100 degree weather, the consumer does not have much choice but must depend on the Contractor to give an honest price. I asked for a detailed breakdown of parts and labor. They said that they did not do that. But emailed me a bill that was even more non script than what the service man wrote. I guess you could blame me for letting them proceed with the work. They installed the equipment and I thought I could trust their honesty. I am at this point willing to eat the cost of blindly trusting them to do the right thing. But I think it is up to the State to step up and stop the scam. I would like to send their invoice but I am not sure how to send a pdf. You can ask them to send a copy of Invoice *****

Thank you for your concerning review. Unfortunately products available to consumers are not contract grade or quality. If they were, there would be no need for contractors or licensing by the state. Everyone would be able to procure and service their equipment themselves. This being said, some of your claims are unfortunately not accurate but we do respect your opinion and opportunity to make your review. As such, we tried everyway possible to assure you and communicate the differences between what you could purchase over the internet and what you were purchasing by opting to secure our services. We are very forward and upfront with our services and cost associated. You elected to agree to the services and were given the option to decline those services which you chose to proceed. We wish you the best and hope you are able to secure future services within the pricing you believe to be fair.

Furnish an Invoice with Parts and Labor breakdown so everyone can see the costs associated with the repair. I admit that I am stuck with an outrageous bill. My mistake for assuming that I was dealing with a reputable company. I think the complaint should appear with all those raves. Most people who have no knowledge and would be thankful that it was not worse. Twenty years ago I would have fixed it myself for less than $200. And that includes buying the gauges and vacuum pump as well as the capacitors. This does not warrant a $1,300 plus bill. I can document actual equipment costs. I ask County Wide to do the same. Give me a parts and Labor breakdown. I feel people should be warned. They do not deserve a Aplus rating.

Please "Reread" our previous response. We were very up front with the cost of the repairs. There was nothing hidden from you. You were given the option to repair it yourself or have us do the repairs. Again, we were very transparent in our transaction with you. To compare prices from 20 years ago to the cost of repairs today is not a very solid premise for your argument. We agree, we are the not the cheapest in town however, we do provide value in our service and sell quality products. You received our standard invoicing that we provide to all of our customers. Its obvious that you simply have an axe to grind and agreeing to our services gave you a platform to make this complaint. We comply with all regulations, set forth by the **************, in our industry. Over 60 years in business, with several thousand customers, is the proof in the pudding. We wish you the best and hopefully your able to secure future services with someone who can provide at the price you feel comfortable. You did have the option to look elsewhere and you did have the option to price shop. You elected to secure the services and then determined it too costly. Not sure how you can document cost unless your a licensed provided yourself and then, why did you not provide the services to your home. Again, you cannot buy contractor grade over the internet unless you are licensed and the prices you quote are not realistic nor would they be guaranteed by a licenses professional. Going forward, we can simply agree to disagree.
