1 starFirst of all I dont post reviews unless I feel like its absolutely warranted. Prior to posting anything negative, I try to resolve it with the business first. Anyway here goes. The administration that has taken over TBVS is clearly money hungry. They dont return phone calls nor are they compassionate. 70% of the staff left due to them creating a Thank you, next model where they focus on quantity over quality. The new owners want a money machine and sadly I got a first hand account. Our experience and story:We were given a referral from our vet for a true cut biopsy and scheduled the surgery due to our beagle mix(*****) having a possible cancer diagnosis. The day before our scheduled surgery TBVS called asking what we were coming in for, we again explained and emailed our referral to them telling them we needed to know for sure what ***** has because a fine needle biopsy test was inconclusive. We went to TBVS on our appointment date and they took ***** in the back. About 30 minutes later they walk her out and provide us with ultrasound results saying she has a liver tumor. We were shocked and said we had a surgery biopsy planned, we were told they didnt think that was the best course of action for *****. We got charged $780 for the ultrasound visit and were told They must establish a patient vet relationship I.e. squeeze more money from each patient prior to giving the care youre requesting. After several phone calls and asking to speak with a supervisor I was transferred to JB. She claimed there was a miscommunication and would speak to the accounting side of TBVS however its been over two months of phone tag. They clearly dont care about ***** nor do they want to provide an explanation.Frankly I would be terrified to bring my ********. My business stopped using them as their after hours emergency vet due to another incident I will not discuss here. There are much better places in Pinellas county.Review fromMarcus S

1 starThis use to be my spot for emergency care for my dogs until last night. I took my dog in that was bleeding out of his side. They had me waiting for 2hours I see people coming and going so I ask whats going on. They forgot about me, so they put us in a room I spent another hour and a half waiting no one came to check or say anything. 3 plus hrs no help I left. Very concerning on what goes on here. *************************** ******************* ************ go elsewhere for a fighting chance for **** BABIES!Review fromHeather P

1 starThis practice is terrible and insanely overpriced. My dad brought my dog **** in because she has a patch of hair loss that is slowly growing. My dad was told that it could be due to rabies vaccination and this can be a common side effect for smaller dogs after receiving the vaccination. They did no tests and I was charged around $200 for them to tell him a biopsy could be preformed if he wanted for over $1000. No treatment was recommended and they are a disgrace. I would never recommend them to anyone and I am truly upset with my experienceReview fromff V

I would never come here again and I strongly recommend everyone to stay away from the hospital. Took my dog in here after he was bitten by a pit bull. They gave him stitches two drains and some medicine. I came in 3 days later to get his drains removed but they only ended up taking out one. Next day the drain they left had yellow discharge coming out of it and a foul smell. Went in and they said he had an infection they sent me home with antibiotics and a culture exam that they were going to do. A couple of days later I noticed a piece of skin that fell off and another one on the backside leg I went in again and they said it would be okay and to just leave it alone. They even recommended me to start going to my normal vet. It was getting worse over time and now my dog has skin falling off everywhere. My dog is dying I would never come here again. Please stay away from this place that they call a hospital.Thrive Pet Healthcare

1 starI came to ACCESS Hospital in *********** on 4/11 for an emergency visit for my cat. She couldn't breathe and they told me I needed to pay $5,000-$8,000 BEFORE they could examine her. They were giving me phone numbers to apply for financing in the lobby before they'd even look at her. She died just 4 days later, while I was supposedly waiting for **************** to call with test results. In the midst, I even called back to check on these results. They scrambled around because "they weren't ready," and still told me nothing. If **************** knew my cat was at the end of her life, instead of sending us home to wait for answers in vain, she could have been honest and advised me so I could make the proper decision. But to ask for money before seeing my pet, and charging 5 grand to send her home to die is shameful. This facility is an inhumane money grab, full of employees who lack human decency. While I was awaiting final moments with the remains they came in the room to discuss finances. It was only $115, so I have no idea why she needed to come ask how I'd pay it. When I finished saying goodbye, the woman immediately came back in the room and said, "My condolences m'am, someone in the front can charge you out." I get to the front and immediately hear: "For ****? I can charge you out. " Charge me out? At least the first one offered a sorry condolence in the same breath as asking for more cash. Do you understand how offensive the word charge was TWICE?! While I'm crying, in the midst of my shock and grief, they reduced my companion to a credit card charge. It is inhuman and unfeeling, and god forbid you should ever experience such treatment. I want to be sure this message reaches the senior leadership of ACCESS and parent company Thrive Pet Healthcare. Not one ounce of care was given, for myself or my pet. I want a full refund of the *******, plus the $141 I paid to her regular vet for a followup as I awaited answers from ACCESS while her condition rapidly worsened.Review fromdria r

1 starI came to ACCESS Hospital in *********** last Tuesday, April 11 for an emergency visit for my cat ***** She died Saturday, while I was supposedly waiting for **************** to call me back with test results. In the midst, I even called back up to the hospital to check on these so-called results... they scrambled around because "they weren't ready," and still told me nothing. Do you understand how this comes off as deceptive and dishonest? If **************** knew my cat was at the end of her life, instead of quoting me $5000-$8,000 before even examining her, and sending me home to wait for answers in vain, she could have been honest and advised me on the proper decision for end of life care. But to ask for money before seeing my pet, then charge me 5 grand to send her home to die -- you all should be ashamed. This facility is an inhumane money grab, full of unthinking employees, and I have no idea how any of you sleep at night. While I was awaiting final moments with my pet, they came in the room to discuss finances. When I finished saying goodbye, this woman came back in the room and said, "My condolences m'am, someone in the front can charge you out." I get to the front and immediately hear: For ****? I can charge you out. Charge me out??? At least the first one offered a sorry condolence, in the same breath as asking for more cash. Do you understand how offensive the word charge is while I'm standing there crying -- they all reduced my companion to a credit card charge, in the midst of my shock and grief. It is inhuman and unfeeling, and god forbid you should ever experience such treatment.I want to be sure this message reaches the president and CEO of ACCESS. I demand a response and apology and a refund. The way you treat people and patients is simply deplorable.Review fromAlan

If I could give 0 stars, I WOULD! Every time that we take our pets there, its always a freaking issue. Cant get scheduling right, appointments are entered at the wrong date, customer service is out of the window, Somehow they are always misinformed they are blaming things in the call center instead of owning up. This place *****.Thrive Pet Healthcare

Please provide the name of the hospital so we can follow up with them regarding your experience. Thank you.Alan

Be aware of wanting to cancel your membership discount within 30days policy, there is no way to contact them via telephone just emails with long waiting period for a reply. In the meantime they will still charge your credit card even after you have notified them within the 30 days.It took me over 3months for them to stop deducting payments from my account.Awful customer service in my opinion!Thrive Pet Healthcare

2 starsWe have had several exceptional experiences with Capitol. One was for diagnostics and another for surgery, where the surgeon saved our Simbas life. This last time Simba was rushed in for an emergency because he was attacked by a German Shepard. I called on the way, and they assured me they would meet us outside and help us but that did not happen. Simba puncture wounds were severe and he lost a lot of blood. The veterinarian on duty told us he had.a 50/50 chance of survival. The staff was more concerned about obtaining their fee than about saving Simbas life. I told them to do everything no matter how much it cost to save Simba. She told us she stapled the wound which she did not. She told us she was giving him a transfusion which she did not. They did nothing to stop the bleeding except wrap in gauze and nothing for pain. They gave him oxygen and CPR to revive him twice. They allowed us to see him for a few minutes, and his vitals improved but they insisted that we leave the room. We begged the veterinarian to save Simba instead of spending time with us. And when they lost him the staffs concern was more about obtaining the money. This veterinarian although a great bedside manner I do not believe she knew what to do in this emergency situation. She appeared lost She did not follow through with what she said she would do. We had faith in capitol , but in an emergency situation I do not believe they did everything they could to save Simba He was our world, our baby and my children and I are devastated and scarred with the experience forever. it is taking me a year to emotionally be able to write this review. I know now there were other things this Veterinarian could've done to save our Simba. He was the best dog and did not deserve to die alone in pain without every effort made to save him, I called several times left messages and she never returned my calls. I had faith and trust in Capitol but now I am not sure where to go if our other dog has an emergency.Review fromVictoria S
