Wow I hate to write bad reviews but I feel the need to warn people about this. We have an Atmos clock that needed repairs. It would run for a while then stop, but always run slow. They are very complicated and expensive clocks. They are mechanical clocks that are wound by changes in barometric pressure and temp changes. They have a gas fill bellows that expands and contracts. Our next door neighbor has one and said she took it to ****** and he fixed it for her. Great, so we took ours out there to talk to him. It's hard to catch him in the shop. When we got there, he told us "oh, it's probably something simple like a spring. I'll check it out and let you know". Well a year went by and tons of excuses, he finally said it was ready. Assuming since he never quoted us a price, it must have been something really simple. We walked in and the clock was sitting there running. We asked how much and with a straight face he said "That'll be $895.00"!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? No, he said that was the price for a rebuild. That's a lie. I looked it up online and an Atmos specialist said it's about $****** plus any extra parts. We argued first the point he never quoted a price, and second it took a YEAR for him to fix it. After much debate we agreed on $400.00..He doesn't take credit cards so we had to get cash. While my husband was out getting the cash I waited. Soon another guy came in the shop very angry. Apparently his clock that belonged to his late father in law had been there a year too..And had never been fixed and had been taken apart. He was really mad and collected the clock. They came back with the cash and we paid and he marked "No warranty" across the receipt. We got it home and set it up and found it to be running slow. Just like before. I adjusted the speed as far fast as it would go and it still runs slow. I don't think he did a darn thing to it. An Atmos specialist said it should have been around ****** plus extra parts for a complete rebuild.
