Detailed information has already been provided and accepted by *************. I will recap for BBB info. Our Acura 2012 TL had the fuel pump replaced by ********* on August 30, 2023. It was an aftermarket Delphi Fuel pump. A few months ago we started getting an emissions malfunction alert and brought the car to Burden ********* who specialize in ***** repair. They diagnosed the cause as a fuel pump leak. We chose to have them fix it since we already had one failure with his aftermarket fuel pump that ******** had to fix and did not want another one that would fail for a third time.Upon inspection of the fuel pump after removal, it was determined that the fuel pump installation gasket was missing, and that was the root cause for the failure of the part. Burden ********* replaced the fuel pump with a genuine Acura fuel pump part and the emissions alarm cleared. We saved the old part and notified ******** USA of the circumstances and that we wanted a refund for the work they had done incorrectly. ******** USA called ****** and got a receipt proving that we had this work done. They did not look at the part we saved for them nor did they dispute the root cause determined by Burden *********. They simply said we should have gone back to them to replace the part under warranty. Even though the part has failed twice and there is no guarantee they would have caught the error Burden caught with leaving the gasket ****** in summary we believe ******** USA should admit they made a mistake and refund us the money we paid them originally. We are happy with the work and part provided by ***************. ************* has their original receipt for our work, they have the receipt from Burden AutoCare that they themselves requested. We still have the part that ************* chose not to look at. We do not feel it is reasonable for us to assume ************* would not have made the same mistake.
