I signed up for an online education program with this academy, but I was unable to complete it because none of the hospitals on my island (****) would recognize it and I was unable to secure a clinical site for my required externship. I emailed the school to drop out of the program before I had even completed half of the online course, and the told me I would not incur anymore charges. However, I am still being charged. I wont pay for a service that I am not utilizinga service that I CANNOT utilize because I am physically unable to complete the program. I dont want a full refund. I just want to stop being charged. I have paid $800 so far of a $4000 program that I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPLETE.

To whom it may concern,In January, I paid via my credit card, for my niece Saiyah ****** to start an online Surgical Technician program. On January 17, 2024 I communicated with *** ***** of Health Academy **************** online. I also communicated with *** ******* with regards to their Surgical Technologist on line program. I was told in writing, and it is on their online program outline, that the certification program INCLUDED the clinical portion of the degree program offered. I have completed the academic portion of the program and have been ready to begin the clinical portions of the program. I have emailed and called health Tech Academy, specifically, **** Sayed, and *** ******* to no avail with regards to my beginning the clinical portion as per their program guidelines and inclusions. For the past 2 to 3 months, I have tried communicating with them with regards to my starting clinicals. I am now being told that they do not have clinicals for me where I live, which at first I was told there were. I am unable to complete this program for my certification/degree because Im unable to do clinicals. This program is an at your pace program. Although I did sign up in January, I am still not able to complete the program because they will not offer me now the clinicals portion. I have tried calling them and emailing them to argue that what their program promised is not being delivered, to this date. They ignore my emails and my phone calls. To date, they have blocked my phone number. With this being said, I am unable to complete the course due to their negligence. I have paid the program in full. I am requesting a full refund due to the fact of incompletion on their behalf. I have tried my best and continue to call and email them to which I get no return phone calls nor replies to my emails. This is out of my hands that they do not hold. I am simply seeking for reimbursement for a program that I am unable to complete.

    Dear BBB,

I have reviewed the compliant ID ******** and responding on behalf of Health Tech Academy. Our *************** and Externship support is provided clearly under the *** section here: **********************************************. Additionally it is stated in our home page here: ****************************************

Our *************** Team helps the student in every way possible however, finding the position is a shared responsibility. The student has to apply/make calls/attend career fairs etc. to as many potential sites as possible and *************** Teams helps the student understand what to talk about. Once the hospital/clinic shows interest in getting the student onboard, our team can assist with any questions, putting together affiliation agreement if needed for the students to complete their externship.
The whole process for finding an externship can take anywhere from 4-8 months and once a clinic/hospital agrees to take a student onboard, it takes between 6-8 weeks to complete all the requirements.

Our Admissions Agents, websites etc. are completely updated to reflect that we provide support and not guarantees for a position/externship.

If there are any questions, please feel free to call me at ************. I would like to assure you that we are calling the students, assisting the student in every capacity possible, however, the student has not been cooperative. We want to continue with providing the student with support as a next step to place the student in a position for externship. Thanks!

I am rejecting this response because:

the Student, SAIYAH ****** has attempted several times via email and phone calls to communicate with HTA to no avail.  Her calls are blocked  and no response from emails.

The student IS COOPERATING  as she has been working the online courses since January and she wants to complete it!!!

All that is asked, is that HTA get her a hospital do complete her clinical portion.  Expecting one to pay $2,900 for the course and then have the student do all the work to find the clinical hospital part, was and is not stated.
*** claimed to assist with clinicals however their representatives told SAYIAH

can you find a hospital, call them and have them call me because I have too much work to make the calls   That is unacceptable!

HTA will deny that. Students have complained on BBB with the very same issue (clinical).
Should  HTA call and assist the student then none of this would have happen.

    Regards,

The school is believed to be fake. The school has a fake address and I cannot get in touch with anyone. I have sent funds to this school because I was told it was accredited. I have contacted for refund and was unable to reach anyone. I have sent multiple text and emails to withdraw.

    Customer Answer

I have made several attempts to locate the school with the provided address. The address and the phone number are nonexistent. I have made several attempts to withdraw from the school as it is not accredited, and I have not had any luck.
