      Complaint Details:
      We signed a 3-year contract with Lawrence Championship Martial Arts for their Black Belt Club under the explicit assurance that our children could achieve their black belts by attending classes 2 days a week and completing the requirements. However, after 18 months, the business unilaterally changed the requirements, demanding that our children attend classes up to 5 days a week and pay an additional $1,000 for “required” training. This is a clear breach of the originally sold terms of our contract.

      Furthermore, we enrolled with the understanding that morning classes would be held—a key selling point for us, as evening classes conflict with our existing commitments. Despite this, at the 18-month mark, the business abruptly canceled all morning classes, making it impossible for us to continue attending. This failure to deliver the promised services constitutes yet another breach of contract.

      The company has admitted that the former employee who sold us the package had a history of misleading clients—behavior they were aware of—but they still refuse to take responsibility for the dishonesty. Instead, they claim they are simply “sticking to the contract” while failing to fulfill the original terms of that contract. Despite repeated discussions and written complaints, the business continues to hide behind its no-refund policy while ignoring its inability to provide the services that were initially promised.

      We believe Lawrence Championship Martial Arts is in clear breach of its contract with us and has failed to uphold the agreement that was sold to our family.

      We started a 12 month contract with the studio in August. It was to charge me $150 monthly for 12 months. We had our rental sold out from under us so we ended up moving an hour and a half away from the studio in september unexpectedly. I had asked the owner about cancellation, and he stated to send a copy of a utility bill verifying our new address and that we would be able to cancel. I emailed the document over and the owner stated that there would be a charge of 25% of the total contract amount to cancel. I thought this sounded reasonable and was prepared to take the hit financially. Then in the next email the owner stated it would be 50% of the total contract amount but still wouldn't tell me what the charge would be. It is now 12/20 and they have not responded at all since 11/7. I have been charged monthly every month since August. They continue to charge me the full amount monthly and will not respond for me to cancel. This has been too big of a hassle and headache and I feel they should just cancel outright.
