    This individual was hired to install 3 toilets purchased from Lowe's. Based on information posted on the Utah BBB website it appears that he may not have the necessary licensure to do plumbing work. Handyman 101(aka Lonnie H******) was, unfortunately, referred to us by Lowes which gave us a false sense of security in terms of his experience and quality of work. Because of this, I didn't do any type of internet search on him. He did an abysmal job. One of our toilets has a leak, none of the tanks were bolted down correctly, two of the toilets were crooked, he didn't replace the old wax ring which was black with mold, or clean the area before seeding the new toilets. Our new plumber was shocked after pulling one of the toilets.

    Unfortunately, Lowe's won't warranty his work because Mr. H****** called us "independently" of Lowe's offering a better price. Turns out this is against policy with Lowe's and Angi's list. What a mistake I made. I've reported him to Lowe's who relies on Angi's list to screen and vet their 3rd party contractors. Shame on them for not catching this guy in advance.

    Dear Sirs,
    I'm writing on behalf of my Mother, **** **** of **** ***** ***** *** Ogden UT.
    In October of 2021 she agreed to a proposal given by Handyman 101 to do the following:
    * Repair damaged walkway on rear deck
    * Sand and re-stain both decks with two coats
    * Make repairs to house deck
    As the pictures show, the job was started but never finished. The walkway boards remain in a stack and unused. The upper deck peeled immediately and will have to be re-sanded and re-stained.
    The house deck repairs were sub-par and uneven causing a tripping hazard.
    Two checks were written and cashed by Handyman 101 for a total amount of $1,600.00.
    When I discovered this egregious situation (I live in Chicago and just recently visited), I called the business several times.
    First I was told he'd be up that weekend (Sept. 3 and/or 4, 2022) to finish the job. He did not show up.
    A call from my Mother, who is 96 years old, was made Sept. 12 to the business. She asked for a cashiers' check for a total refund and was promised it would arrive by the end of the week (Sept., 18). No check arrived. One final call from me was made Sept. 20 with him disputing the total amount paid to him. He claimed he'd just received a down payment but did admit the work had not been completed as agreed. I have attached the two cashed checks that clearly shows he was paid in full.
    I feel this business has failed miserably on all fronts and believe by reporting this to the Better Business Bureau is our only option to secure a refund of the money paid to them.
    My Mother had used Handyman 101's services before and went into this agreement with a level of trust.
    To scam a 96 year-old senior is, in my view, inexcusable. Thank you for your attention and I look forward to hearing your response. ****** ******* ************
