Back in June 2022 I lived in a rent house in Balch Springs Texas and 2 young gentleman came to my door and pitched me a Vivint home security system.
They never said to my face I was signing a nine year contract that wasn’t expiring until 2027!!! They were not forth coming with alot of information. I used the home security system and paid Vivint monthly and also paid citizens one pay, a financing company, to pay for the equipment. I was charged $35 a month from Vivint and $42 a month from citizens pay. I recently moved in November 2022 and I am in a house where I’m not allowed to have a security system on the house. I have spoken with multiple customer service representatives and they refused to break my contract. I will continue to pay citizens pay the $42 a month until I pay off the equipment. I understand that I owned the security system and it’s my responsibility to pay for it. it is not my responsibility to pay for Vivint service when I am no longer using the service. I am not monitoring, nor do I have cameras on my home nor do I have the app or anything to do with Vivnt other than owning a Vivint system that I’m paying off.
Also, there were fraudulent charges on my credit card that i had on file and I caught it. It took them months to refund me $270 that were unauthorized purchases. No one could give me an explanation or reason for the charges
Other than a senor was purchased that I had never purchased. I will never use this company again or recommend them to anyone. I keep getting a bill every month and I call every week. They will soon send it to collections and this could really affect my credit.Business Response

On 02/20/23, I received an email from Vivint Smart Home stating we have confirmed your order, I was taken back by the communication because I didnt order anything. I called customer service and they informed me Carbon Monoxide monitors were ordered in error, the order will be cancelled on their end and I wont be charged. Low on behold, 5 days later Vivint shipped the item to my house & charged my acct. I called again, spoke to another representative and was advised to return the item and I will receive a refund. On 2/28, I returned the order and on 3/7, ***** tracking confirmed it was delivered to Vivint. Ive been calling customer service numerous times since then, to inquire on my refund and they have been giving me the run around. Last week Wednesday (3/16), I was assured by ***** a refund was submitted and I will receive the credit to my checking account, within 3-5 business days. I called again, today after ****** received the money and was told by a Supervisor, **** a refund will be issued and once again quoted another 3-5 business days. She stated the process varies from bank to bank. Not really sure what she meant by that, because I dont understand how long does it really take to give people their money back? This is truly unfair business practice; I never authorized or requested carbon monoxide monitors. Vivint inadvertently sent me this order, proceeded to debit my acct and are now giving me the run around to issue a refund. Ive been a customer of ********************** for ** yrs. and this is not a good example of how you treat your loyal customers. Im beyond disappointed with Vivints lack of integrity and poor customer service. I previously renewed my contract for another 4 yrs (regretfully), and as soon as its expired I will be moving on.Business Response
