  Failed inspection. I can't believe licensed electricians can't read the specs and do as they are told. Of the 3 Ion Solar houses on my street, two have failed inspections. Don't use Ion Solar unless you like doing your own trouble shooting and making the calls to the company to get a rep out to fix something they couldn't do right the first time.

  Representatives from Ion Solar in eastern ******** routinely bother me at my residence despite a clearly posted no soliciting, please sign right beside the doorbell. This has happened 4 times in the last few months, including twice in the same day. They have been coached to ring the bell or knock even if theres a sign, and to point to the sign and say Im not selling anything, even though they are. I have been polite and told them up front that we arent interested and they continue to push and drag out the conversation. Its incredible disrespectful. It happened again yesterday and Im at the end of my patience. I dont fault the people out doing their jobs, but rather their superiors who have clearly taught them and expect them to completely ignore and disregard peoples wishes.

  We had a terrible experience with ION Solar. The design plans that they created were excessively over blown. They said they based it on our annual usage from the utility company, but their numbers were 30% higher than our actual usage when I pulled the numbers from the utility company myself. I told them it was too large and noted that they needed to be revised, but they went forward anyway and the plans were still denied twice by my local utility company because the initial plans and even their revised plans were too large of a system. I got the distinct impression that they were trying to strong arm us into more than we needed. Additionally, they appeared to drag their feet in allowing us to cancel the project despite emphatically telling us it would be an easy, no questions asked process to cancel. Their communications were terrible; I emailed twice and called three times with no response even after being told I would be contacted by the Area Manager within ***************************************************************************************** to demand to talk with a manager and to receive an email confirming our cancellation while on the phone before they ceased moving forward with our project. Finally, I do not feel they were truthful in their sales pitch at the beginning (they noted solar rebates that our utility company confirmed had no longer been available for 6 months), they failed to follow through with any promises of communication or customer service, and have turned out initial excitement for going solar and doing our part for the environment and local power grid, into dread and significant reticence about ever doing so.

  Their service response is not good, my battery of the solar system is not working they came and never return to repair ***********.This situation has been like that for the last month and a half.

  This company is great until the installation is done. They have no plan to actually get the system up and running. I've been waiting or final inspection for over 2 months now. I know it's the utility company who has to do the inspection, but not having them lined ** in a timely manner is appalling. Knowing there's a delay, why don't they come up with alternatives like getting accredited inspectors to do the work as contractors for the utility? Something? Anything? I'm paying for the equipment and I've not had one single watt of power out of the panels, yet. Do they not care? Is it incompetence? What incentive is there for the utility company to actually do these inspections? There is none. They couldn't give a ****. *** needs to come up with an alternative plan. I'd give them zero stars if I could.

  Last summer someone came to our house wanting to quote us for solar panels. My husband and I told them we werent interested because the neighborhood was about 16 years old and we knew we were going to have to replace the roof in a few years. We were told that was no problem, they would inspect the roof and if we did need to replace the roof it wouldnt cost us anything to uninstall and reinstall. We get our estimate, sign up for the solars. They inspect the roof and tell us the roof looks good, we have about another 5 years of life left with the roof. Everything goes smooth with install, things are going great. This past winter was really rainy and apparently a shingle blew off. We decided to have someone check the roof to be cautious. We have 5 companies check and all say the roof has damage, it has to get replaced. I call ion to schedule the panels to come off and now they are saying we have to pay for it. We would NEVER have agreed to panels knowing this. How did our roof go from 5 years of life left (according to them) to damage and needing replacement 6 months later? They are blaming the sales guy for the false promise. I dont care whose at fault we were straight up lied to.

  Just had two salesmen at my door. Using scare tactics to try and confuse me. They said they sent me something in advance and asked if I read it about energy blah blah blah. I told them I wasnt interested. They acted dumb like what do you mean, were not here to sell you, which was ********. They were too persistent, I felt like I was being financially raped. Jerks

  I would advise against considering this company. While they may treat you exceptionally well during the purchasing process, their attitude changes completely once you sign the agreement. We encountered numerous problems including delays in installation, subpar installation quality, multiple failed inspections, sudden cancellations, a revolving door of project managers, and dishonest explanations from customer service regarding the reasons behind the delays. Our neighbors, who opted for alternative solar panel providers, have successfully installed and activated their systems while we are still waiting for inspections to pass. It's frustrating to have been making payments for months without the panels generating any electricity. I find myself wondering how many more days I'll have to take off work just to be present for yet another failed inspection.

  Im in the middle of having a terrible experience with ion solar. They have left my solar panels in my garage for the past 90 days without my consent when I was told by the technician that they would be out the next week. Timeframe:-October signed up, told I would get Solar before the end of the year in 2022 -Initially kept in touch with different approvals from county and HOA -incorrectly specked my solar onto my neighbors house -upon install they realize their mistake and installed anyways against county approvals -County intervened, and made them take them down for further approvals -Solar panels have been sitting in my garage without my consent for more than 90 days while my loan is charging me and all of my summer months are being missed -Service team is completely worthless and I have not received any updates for an install date and Im consistently charged all while having half my garage taken up by solar panels. They did not approve to be sitting in there.-Have asked explicitly to speak with a manager for in appropriate concessions or amendment to contract as this is far outside of their current contract terms, and we are looking at a year before insulation is complete at this point, if at all before the winter -They take advantage of homeowners and sell you on a service level that doesnt exist. They have made no attempt to make the situation right and I have been over charged dramatically.
