  I purchased a rosetta stone "lifetime" plan a few years back. It was well over 100 dollars and not cheap by any means. Today I logged on for a lesson, only to find out that with no warning, my membership plan had been canceled. If this plan had been marketed as an unlimited plan for 2 years, maybe it would have been worth it... It's the dishonesty and lack of principle.

  Bought Rosetta Stone in CD format a few years back. Now they want you to have a subscription. This is highway theft at its finest.

  I should put "0" stars, be careful don't buy this product, they offer a LIFETIME license but after some time the software will stop to work due a technical issues, the Rosetta Stone support not gonna do nothing to solve your issue, but they will try to sale you another LIFETIME license to fix your original issue ... that looks like a white gloves scam..

  Bought CDs and now they don't work. I paid $500 for them. The company said that technically the software is outdated and now they can't do anything and suggest that I buy their software again. Pay money again. This is a fraud. This is cheating customers. Rosetta Stone should keep the ability to learn from discs and may add new options, such as the company is using now.

  I purchased a Spanish program from Rosetta Stone back in 2016. I have used it frequently up until about a month ago when my computer malfunctioned and stopped working. When trying to install and download the program onto my new computer, all the links from my order confirmation would only lead straight to the Rosetta Stone homepage. I called customer service and was told that this program was no longer supported by new computer software and if I wanted to continue learning with Rosetta Stone I would need to purchase a whole new subscription. When asked if there was a grandfather setup for customers in my situation, I was told there was nothing they could do to help. I do not recall receiving any notifications about this software issue or updates that would cancel out my program. Existing programs can be updated and refreshed. It is upsetting Rosetta Stone did not do this and instead is making you purchase new products that may likely do the same down the road.

  The Mac desktop version I paid for no longer works. Repeated emails to Rosetta Stone were ignored until I found an email address from an online search. The representative was very responsive, but not helpful. After several emails back and forth, the best they could offer was for me spend more money on a discounted lifetime online subscription. That just sounds FOUL. What about the money I spent on the desktop version that they abandoned? Besides, that "lifetime" left for me is not that long. They could at least offer a year of free subscription so I can decide whether I like the online version or not.
  Any fifth grader would recognize this as bad business practice. I certainly have lost trust in this company. Fortunately, there are now other options that are rated better than Rosetta Stone. Better yet, they will not make me feel like I'm paying more money to a cheat.

  Horrible...Horrible...Horrible. I purchase French and Spanish from Rosetta Stone over 10 years ago. I used the French and the Spanish was a gift. I paid several hundreds of dollars for both sets and all of the levels. Now they are requiring subscriptions. I have the cd's and everything is still working. But, Rosetta Stone has disconnected everything and mandating that we purchase the subscription. I wrote to them and they sent a response indicating there is nothing they are going to do....and I must subscribe. Everyone should use FLUENZ as a learning tool now.
